Waterproof Apple iPod Shuffle with True Short Cord Headphones - Highest Rated Waterproof MP3 Player on Amazon

I bought this back in August of 2014, There is nothing else like this on the market....TEN STARS! First of all, Its an Apple product, Crystal clear beautiful sound. Like in a Theater, like all IPods, only under the water. ITS AN EXPERIENCE, A BEAUTIFUL EXPERIENCE, THE SOUND UNDER THE WATER IS " WOW", you can't believe, how clear! Listening to music under the water is unreal, different than on "LAND" LOL, you want to stay down there, wow, just thinking how peaceful. 2nd of all, it really does do what it says, ITS WATERTIGHT. Durable! Lightweight! Comfortable! I am giving this review now, as to explain my experience of having it for almost eight months. I swim laps, do water exercise, and also goof around in the pool. The headphones I believe are of excellent Quality, they have a short cord for attaching to your cap, or goggles. VERY comfortable, nothing dangling in your face, or around your neck, or in the way of sight, or swim motion. IT FEELS LIKE HAIR ON MY HEAD! REALLY! Sometimes I forget I am wearing it, and have to feel for it. DUH, Like looking for your glasses, on your nose, lol. FYI GOOD TIP: If you are Someone at the pool who does not wear goggles, or a swim cap, you can just tie a pony tail and clip it on the elastic band! Ta Da " YOU ARE MUSIC IN MOTION". I have seen them do this, with this model. 3rd is the Price, how can you beat it. I see other devices with sooooooooooo many buttons, to confusing when swimming. I see people stop and adjust their buttons, and get frustrated, I see people adjusting their headphones,all the time, dangling below their chins, or just having to hold them. And what's with those orange "Zip Ties" REALLY? I see arm bands, and I have had to dive down a get whats "ripped off their arms", as that style is in the way of a " FLUID MOTION" So many "Oh S***s'", NOPE not with mine. I see the same people with "NEW" ones all the time, they say their other ones " CRAPPED out".....NOT MINE. So you see why the price is right, I still have mine, loving it, I just bought another one for my soft music. 4th a better workout, because you don't want to leave the pool, you stay and workout longer, REALLY, ZERO BOREDOM! 5th, The headphones come with an extension cord, for regular use, love the fit of these, glad to have the extension cord for the Gym, part of my Gym....The LAND PORTION, LOL. I ordered another one today, as I wanted to have different music for the pool, and I got spoiled at the good price, Got Purple this time, for my soft music playlist, and I use the green one I got last August for my Rock n Roll/Metal. This new purple one is a smart purchase, as now I have a back-up pair of headphones, and double my music, to go with my moods in the pool. If anyone has any question as to is this a great deal... The answers are.... A) Great Music, Great Quality, Why Yes! Its an Apple product, Your music, your way. Crystal Clear Sound. B) It really does/is what It says, WATERPROOF, WATER TIGHT! C) Comfortable Headphones, with Dual use, In pool, on "LAND". D) Works right out of the box, REALLY! Doesn't get any easier!. E) All of the above. Now You choose your answer....

UPDATE: Almost a year later and my AudioFlood iPod is still going strong! It has withheld an everyday beating of an hour swim time, sauna, hot tub, shower, and plenty of drops and bangs. The battery life has not diminished any noticeable amount in my year of near daily use either. UPDATE: Audio Flood called me a few weeks after my purchase and cleared up the headphone issue over the phone. I was told using the "Christmas tree style" ear plugs were ideal and they were spot on. I pop the headphones and swim for about 45 minutes until my ears start to get a little sore. That's right, you heard me, I get in the pool and swim non stop for about 45 minutes... everyday. This is compared to the fifteen minute grind I used to do every other day before this purchase. Each time I swim with my Audio Flood iPod Shuffle is like the best swim I have ever had. I Also, emailed them to ask about storage and usage temperatures (more specifically for a sauna) and received a reply within 10 minutes with my answer as well as some additional upkeep and storage information. I will keep this post updated as my usage continues. I will say is that I am swimming close to twice as far and enjoying it even more with music in my ear. I have had this iPod for about a week and may have figured out some of the other complaints about this product, however, I will address those later. Overall, my satisfaction is a solid five stars. The functionality of the iPod shuffle has not changed due to the waterproofing and works great like other apple products. So, essentially, what I wanted is perfect and has, to this point, withstood sauna temperatures as well. The biggest issue with most consumers seems to be the headphones and it is understandable since there is only one or two other pairs available on Amazon. The headphones that come with it are obviously not a top tier quality but I don't need the precision of Bose while I am swimming. I may look in to finding a new pair for convenience though. Overall, I found that if water gets in between your ear drum and headphones then it can muffle sound making it appear as if it has cut out or has fallen out. So make sure the plugs in your ears fit or buy replacement ones. A different strategy is to purposely fill that gap with water and crank the volume up. It sounds a bit different, but still sounds good and works. The iPod comes with a headphone extension that did completely wipe one ear from working but I don't use it and don't care. Overall, fantastic item. I will update in a few months. P.S. You should find or make some better headphones and sell them on Amazon. Yes you, start a business.

UPDATE 2018 I've now had my Audioflood for over FOUR years and have had zero problems with it. I have very small ear canals and have a hard time finding ear buds that will stay in my ears. After some initial false starts 4 years ago, the Audioflood people helped me find waterproof earbuds that fit. However, recently, I lost one of the ear bud tips. When I contacted Audioflood about buying a replacement of these tips these amazing folks actually SENT me at no charge, several of these tips. You don't get customer service better than this. If you are considering a waterproof sound system for your lap swimming, look no further. Treat yourself to an Audioflood and BUY THIS PRODUCT!!!! UPDATE 2016 Two years after my purchase, I was having a small technical difficulty but true to form, the folks at Audioflood helped me solve the problem! They are a great company and this product continues to be a terrific product which adds a whole new dimension to my swim workouts. I am lost without it. Don't hesitate any longer, just go ahead and buy it! (See all my reviews below). UPDATE: More than one year later. When I read a review of a product on Amazon, I always want to know, how long the person has had the product and do they still love it. So, I'm here to say that over a year later, I think this product is still THE BEST! I love my Audioflood and am always answering questions about it and recommending it when someone new sees me at the pool using it. The sound quality, the ease, and the Customer Service are terrific. I will say again (see my original review below), if you have any problems with your device or earbuds, contact Customer Service before giving up or writing a negative review. There are solutions which Customer Service at Audioflood can offer that will help you feel like I do that this is one of the BEST purchases for the money that I have made. INITIAL review: I bought this 6 months ago but wanted to wait until I had used it for a while before writing a review. I read all the reviews on this and other waterproof MP3 players before I bought this product. I previously had purchased a different waterprrof MP3 product which was less money but as they say, "you get what you pay for". It didn't work well with my mac for downloading music and eventually I just had to find a replacement product. I splurged on this one and it is the best! The best product and the best customer service! I read about the problems folks had with the earbuds and I'm here to say that if you are having problems with the earbuds, contact Audioflood customer service. They are amazingly helpful and offer great tips. I have very small ear canals and though the shuffle worked great, I couldn't get the earbuds to fit quite right, stay put, etc. With the help of the Audioflood people, I stopped have any problems with the earbuds and am only sorry I didn't contact them from the get go. I am so enjoying the amazing sound quality and ease with which this player provides music for my swim workouts that I would encourage anyone looking at this product to just go ahead, buy it. It is worth every penny. And don't bother with the extra cost of warranty insurance. The product already comes with a two year warranty in the basic price.

I first got the unit and after a few days I realized it wasn't charging. I got in touch with AudioFlood who assured me my issue would be resolved once I sent it back. They promptly e-mailed me a prepaid mailing label. I was a bit disappointed because I was not able to get the earbuds to seal properly, rendering the music less than appealing. I'll get to this in a minute. At any rate, I was fine with a refund at this point, but they assured me they would check it out and get it working. It turned out that it was a defective USB cable that was actually from a bad batch supplied by Apple. Once returned the unit itself worked fine, and still is. After working with the earbuds for a couple weeks, I got a good sealed fit. While the sound quality is not real good, it is acceptable while swimming. I have swam several times for a mile straight with no loss in the seal, unlike other reviewers. At first I tried covering them with a swim cap. They actually work BETTER without a cap. You just need to work on the fit until you get a good seal, and get them in properly before you start your swim. No problem with flip turns or pushing off the walls. However, now it is about a month in and one bud has all but lost its output. I contacted AudioFlood CS again. They suggested I give them a gentle squeeze with pliers to release an air pressure pocket in them. It didn't really restore them to where they should be so as of today, I asked if they would simply replace the buds, since they said they would. That is where I am right now and I trust they will do this. Their CS has been very good to work with. (1/12--They indeed did send a new set, so 5 for service. They were very good). Based on service and the unit itself, I would give the product five stars. But due to some rather average earbuds, I have to give it an overall of four stars, and would only change that if the buds are not replaced. I hope this doesn't happen every month or so, though. In the meantime, I have found some other buds here on Amazon for $3.99. At that price, I don't mind trying them and will once I get enough in my cart for free shipping. Overall, I like the concept and having music in the pool. The unit is fine, and the earbud fit is fine. But the quality of the buds is still questionable. A YEAR LATER: I've had both Swim Audio and Audioflood units. Both companies offer superb support. However, I have had to get replacements from both companies. So far as the unit goes, the nod strongly goes to AudioFlood. But AudioFlood's ear buds are not so good--they tend to get vapor locked and one or the other bud completely goes out. Swim Audio's buds are definitely better. Keep your ears clean! Over time, believe it or not, the little screen that covers the hole where the audio comes out can get plugged with ear wax. The best buds I have found thus far are a $6 pair I found here on Amazon. They are excellent but they are long cord, so I wrap the cord up, tie it permanently, and stick the cord under my goggles strap. The customer service at Swim Audio was fine, but the first replacement didn't last all that long after the first one choked out. They were nice enough to send a new one (the last one), and it didn't last a week. So my nod would go to Audioflood, and grab a pair of the $6 buds here on Amazon as backups. After going through 4-5 units in less than three years, I am going to try Underwater Audio. After almost two years, the battery in the AudioFlood unit is not holding a good charge, but the unit itself, to me, was acceptable.

Swimming workouts can get boring day after day, lap after lap. When I ran, I loved listening to music and remember how quickly the time and miles would go. I wanted the same with swimming. And I found it! I love this gadget! My waterproof shuffle is everything it's advertised to be and a little more. Easy to use. Small, convenient. Great sound. I had a problem with the Pyle headphones and had no sound on the left side......despite changing buds, and trying a number of remedies. I called Audioflood.com and reported the problem. They offered some of the solutions I had already tried and nothing worked. I sent them an email to follow up that nothing I tried worked and they immediately shipped me new headphones. The best service I've encountered in online or in person purchasing. Personnel is very friendly and helpful. I've been using the shuffle for about 3 weeks now without a hitch. Time flies with music in the pool. If you know someone who swims regularly this would be the best Christmas gift possible. And Audioflood.com is the best dealer there is for purchasing one!! Thank you, Audioflood.com! Signed..... one happy lap after another...... Four years later...... I love my shuffle. It's been my swim companion for 4 years, obviously now out of warranty. Recently it died. Contacted AudioFlood for suggestions, none of which worked. They sent me a pre-paid mailing label and I shipped it back to them. Techs confirmed it was troubled and not going to get better. I was poised to buy a new one, no questions asked. I received the bad news in an email....BUT their solution was to offer me a one-time courtesy of a free refurbished shuffle replacement! MOST AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! They are courteous, friendly, professional and obviously go one step beyond. As the title says....I'm a customer for life.

I want to say that this shuffle has been my absolute favorite purchase since using Amazon. Right out of the box, the case looks pristine and besides the Audioflood label, I would have thought that it were any regular shuffle. Works exactly like any other apple device using either iTunes or any third party software to upload music. About the waterproofing? I've been using it daily for 3 weeks and I have had zero problems with the device and I've only had to charge it once. You can tell right away that the buttons are bit stiff but that isn't even unexpected when you consider the work put into "waterproofing" any device. The shuffle easily clips onto my goggles (or even any workout shirt) and I have had no discomfort nor has it become a hindrance to my swimming. Flip turn as hard as you wish and the shuffle won't fly off. Now the gripe everyone has with the device is with the earbuds. I spent several days picking the right earbud for the earpieces and found the one I preferred, promptly gluing them together. This kind of made things more difficult as the air or water can get caught into the buds and cause slight muffling or require adjusting but it's really as simple as a gentle push on the earpiece. Granted, muffling does occur and sound isn't perfect but the music is perfectly audible and I have had no problems with the sound being silenced. Crank up the volume and the music will continue to play. Honestly, if I were looking for perfect sound, I wouldn't be swimming in the first place; or go ahead and buy an expensive pool sound system. Perfect purchase if you plan on getting swimming into your workout routine, and pop in some regular headphones for your dry land workouts. This shuffle is guaranteed to work in any regular recreational or lap swimming pool with no risk of damage.

EDITED REVIEW: IF you read below, you will see that at first I gave this product a pretty good review. NOW it is 3months later and the damn thing doesn't work at all; I even took it to the Apple store. They have no connection to this product and and think the 'Waterproof' idea is totally a fraud! ... So I am returning the product, not even getting a full refund, and am VERY ANNOYED at Amazon for even selling this in the first place. (1) It's a great idea. (2) but if it doesn't work past a few months - it's a total waste of money! .........OLD REVIEW: I have to give this a mixed review, but I'll be specific. When I heard there was a waterproof iPod shuffle I could use while swimming or exercising in the pool I was ecstatic! The price was fair. Though I wondered why it was not for sale in any Apple store. ... I bought it, was very happy for it for 1 1/2 years. I purchased it on Amazon. One day it just stopped working and would not recharge on my computer; I had been able to use it for about 10 hours of music use in the pool for 1 1/2 years - not a hint of a problem! There was always a beep that said 'battery low' which told me I needed to recharge. When one day it didn't recharge as usual, and since I didn't know if the problem was my computer, or the cable or the device itself, I went to my local Apple store. With their own special cables and technology, they figured out that it was the Shuffle itself. Interesting, they told me that these devices are/were never really waterproof and that's why they don't sell them; they said that possibly there is a 'coating' put on them to make it waterproof, but that it doesn't continue to last. At the Apple store they said - there was really no such thing as a totally waterproof product! ...I then contacted Amazon about this past purchase by a third party seller, AudioFlood. Apple was willing to give me a partial refund of $93 [upon my return of the item] for my $124 original price. Even though this was all quite annoying, I liked and enjoyed the use of the product so much for the 1 1/2 years, that I ordered a new one and returned the first one. I hope this second iPod Shuffle works for more than 1 1/2 years! What I do wish, is that there was 'really' a fully waterproof item, that not only says so, but that Apple backs by saying a fully waterproof product exists.

Stars? Not even space dust. The technology on iPod, "waterproof", headphones DOES NOT work. Actually, I take that back. It works in reverse! The buds let water leak into the ear canal on breath head turn and then traps it there. I tried every attachment in the package and each one is worse than the one before it. Audio in both buds lasts approximately one lap and that is being generous. After using this product I seriously question the veracity of the 800+ glowing reviews. No way I'm the only one experiencing this problem. I strongly suspect Apple Clackers unless the reviewers are pool zombies - Walkers! I've used it six times and rather than enhancing my workout I swim about ten laps less cussing and adjusting the thing. I will give the highly touted customer services a shot before hitting the return to sender button and then rewrite my review. I really, really wanted this thing to work but unless you like Springsteen and E Street singing like they're locked in a closet full of pillows, pass on this pricey disappointment. OCT 14 Re-review - HOLD FRIGGIN EVERYTHING! MIRACLE! I got in touch with Audio Flood and their customer services Jedi, Heather. She gave me a game changing tip so simple I would have scoffed at her if we were on the phone. She recommended a touch of Vaseline on the tip of the tree bud. She said it would allow the bud go deeper into the ear and seal out H2O. Yeah, buddy it sure does! Hallelujah! After a two mile swim in rough ocean conditions I have experienced a 180 flip in product satisfaction. No more head full of water. FULL SEAL! . Not decent but excellent, clear Ramones. Hi fidelity, Old Crow Medicine, Stamina inducing, Stones. Why o why didn't you guys put that in your YouTube video or instructions? AudioFlood owes me ten push ups. Wow, does this thing help the swim! * Do me one favor, iPod strokers - People who dig this Shuffle, please write to Apple to complain about the thoughtless lack of a simple snap-lock for that perfectly usable hard plastic storage cube the Shuffle comes in. (this is not AudioFlood's dealio) It's going to be around for a couple hundred years and if you don't want to tape it shut every time, it's straight to the trash. Beyond dumb. What would it cost Apple to modify it? 1/1000 of a penny?They get enough flack about dumping stuff into the environment. That one just makes zero sense. PS -- Heads up if you use this tip. The Vaseline is going to eventually get on the other end of the bud and if you are not careful that will make them slip off the post quite a bit more easily. 1 Happy customer Even the fishies are stoked.
