Perfect air horn

I bought this air horn for New Years Eve at midnight. It may work fine for a boat horn, but is a dismal failure as a celebratory noise maker. It says not to shake before using and I did not do that. It also says to use it in short blasts, which I did. I got off about 5 short blasts before the can was freezing and the horn was chocking into silence. This was a waste of money for the use I bought it for. To be fair, nowhere on the site page or on the package does it say it is for noise making. BUT, if I'd had a big emergency on the water I couldn't have forced more than 5 short blasts before this thing stopped honking.

This is exactly what we needed in our boat just in case we get stranded and need help. This is also required to have on your boat by the authorities

The product is not effective as you think it is needs work

If you’re looking for a discreet buzzer for middle-school sports games, this little can from Better Boat is absolutely not—it’s basically a sonic rocket launcher with a “go home or go deaf” option. The blast is powerful enough to carry half a mile and hits roughly 115 dB. When I first fired this off, teammates flinched. Nearby parents turned their heads. The ref might’ve flagged me for excessive celebration. But if your goal is to command attention—be it start of game, end of quarter, or that one kid who forgot his cleats—this thing delivers: loud, sharp, and impossible to ignore. I can’t guarantee your eardrums will forgive you afterward. But the kid who gets up the next morning with a ringing in their ears might at least remember who scored the last touchdown.

Bought five years ago, used it a few times, but haven't needed it for a few years. Plenty of air but doesn't work. Previously purchased horn had the same problem. That said. I foster dogs that are usually at least 90 pounds. Occasionally I misjudged how they are socializing or just plain make a mistake in handling, and need to break up fights. I've had two of these air horns over the last many years, and they have done the job 4/5 times, drastically reducing the risk to me keeping the dogs from injuring each other. So these horns are very helpful, but I need them to be reliable, and that probably means testing and replacing regularly. I'd really prefer a unit that lasts longer, like a brass head unit for the canned air.

The horn s sepately screwed onto the air can. I like this , makes it easy to stow.
