Builders Edge, Inc. 051010001002 Vinyl Decorative Hinge Kit

I bought these to put on my shutters when I get around to doing it. The house is almost finished and I know they will be a perfect touch. I had these on my previous home and more than one person commented on them. They did fade slightly in the hot Louisiana sun over 9 years but still looking good. I imagine if needed they could be taken down and sprayed with the paint made for plastics and look good as new. (But the new owners can do that. 😉)

The vinyl hinges are perfect for this application, installed easily and look great. We did not use the s-hooks, preferring just the simpler appearance of the hinges.

these add a very nice finishing touch to our custom made wood board and batten shutters and we are glad we got them. We did not use the S hooks though because we did not feel like they were necessary. My only complaint is that the hinges definitely look more like plastic than they do wrought iron. You can easily fix this by using some black hammered rustoleum sray paint from lowes or home depot... then they will turn out excellent and look twice as good in my opinion. I also temporarily stuck the screws down in a small piece of cardboard so i could spray paint the screw heads too.

Just as described - I took previous advice and painted them with the black hammertone paint ! Turned out great.

Total junk. Thin plastic looks ridiculously cheap.
