Nothing beats Corelle for everyday use
Having grown up with Corelle dishware I decided a few years ago to branch out and get some very expensive stoneware instead. Though the stoneware looks gorgeous and has a heavy, good quality feel to them, after just a little over a year and a half my bowls and plates have so many chips in them that I have been embarrased to take them out of the cupboard for company. After hitting the edge of a plate against my porcelain sink last week and taking out a huge chunk I finally had enough and decided to go back to the good old Corelle name brand. A lot of people have shown disappointment in these dishes in the reviews here and I will admit that if you want the expensive, heavy look such as stoneware provides there is no comparison. But NOTHING beats Corelle for durability, long lasting and just basic day-to-day wear and tear. I was just so tired of constantly shelling out money to replace my chipped stoneware and know that won't be a problem with Corelle. I was also happy to see that Corelle has updated the look of their line. I really didn't want anything with flowers on them. It was between the Memphis and the Geometric for me and I finally decided on the Geometric because of it's ability to go with everything. Though I do suppose the Memphis would too. Hmmmmm....second guessing myself already! I decided to purchase the plain white 20 ounce pasta dishes, berry bowls and 28 ounce bowls as well, just too bad they didn't come in the geometric design also. At least the 8 1/2 inch luncheon plates had the design though they were a little pricey to purchase individually. A little FYI. Other than the luncheon plates I purchased everything else at Walmart because they were MUCH cheaper than Amazon, even without the 4 for 3 promotion and having to pay sales tax. Example: 12 ounce desert bowls and 20 ounce pasta bowls were $2.76 at Walmart and $5.18-$7.39 on Amazon a piece. 1 quart serving bowl was $8.76 at Walmart and $12.99 on Amazon. If you are planning on buying the 28 ounce bowls the set they have available with the 2 quart bowl for $24.99 is the best buy on Amazon, verses buying them separately.

I what I expected from Corelle. Durability, Stylish and Inexpensive.
Dishes came tightly packed and nothing was broken. I ordered four sets and they came all together in a huge box, but each set had their own packaging box. Upon arrival, some dishes did have a coating on them from the factory. However, one cycle through the dishwasher and they were ready to go. Some reviews stated that they arrived dirty. I can see what they were talking about, but clearly it's from manufacturing and not due to second hand use. Who eats on plates straight from the box? Yuck. Wash them and they will be fine. The design is brown, tan and sage. They would have appealed to me more if they where black, grey and beige as they looked in the picture, but they are still stylish. I did not think the mugs felt cheaply made. I don't like that they were made in Cina, but they are nice. They are, however, stone and not made of Corelle material. Overall, this purchase is a great value. I replaced heavy stoneware with Corelle. Corello is much lighter. It also takes up way less space in the cabinet which was an unexpected bonus. Great for everyday use.

Loved the modern pattern! Classic Corelle Quality!
What can I say it is Corelle dishes. These are the best dishes ever made. They don't chip. Kids can drop them and they never break. They are lightweight and take up virtually no room in the cupboard. The pattern is very modern and is great for either a single guy, a single girl or a family. Nothing overly feminine/masculine with this pattern. The pattern is simple enough it would fit into almost all kitchens without looking out of place. The mugs are a nice size and bigger than the set I had purchased years ago. I think they finally realized people like a big cup of a coffee not taking shots out of a little mug. I should mention the mugs are stoneware so they keep liquids either hot/cold easier than the corelle material the dishes are made out of. The stoneware mugs could chip/break if abused however I have never experienced this. I would definitly recommend this set/pattern to anyone looking for a great set of dishes.

Love the plates and bowls and the color is as ...
Love the plates and bowls and the color is as nice as it appears in the picture. I was surprised to see that the cups are not made of the same material as the rest. I hope the mugs hold up as well as the dishes. They are stoneware so they may chip easily. I won't be putting any of them in a dishwasher so that may help.

Corelle FTW
I ordered these dishes after four years of using Mikasa dishes. 75% of my Mikasa dishes had chipped within the first year, and replacements were very expensive. For less than $30 dollars, I replaced my old dishes with attractive chip and break-resistant corelle. The design, as others have noted, is made up of mocha brown, beige, and celery colored squares. The mugs are stoneware, which chips more easily than corelle, but also holds heat better than corelle. In the set are four pieces of four products: a small bowl, a small plate, a large plate, and mugs. The bowl has only mocha brown squares, but they still go well with the other pieces. I used the super-saver shipping, ordered my dishes on a Sunday, and received them on Tuesday morning. They came packed carefully in a series of three boxes, and were not warped or broken. Before ordering, I looked at Wal-mart and Target for the same set of dishes in case they were cheaper elsewhere, but they did not have them in the store in my town and online they were more expensive (with shipping). Also Wal-mart shipping is ridiculously slow. I would suggest buying them here if you can't get them in your local superstore, as the shipping (even the free shipping) is really quick, and the price is similar. So far, I really enjoy the dishes and am looking forward to buying another set so that I have service for eight.

Love Corelle, but why are the designs on these bowls all brown?
I love Corelle dinnerware and this pattern is just right for our new home. Two things I'm not pleased with: 1. The mugs are not made from Corelle glass. This I knew from reading the description, but I do wish they were made from the same material as the plates. The mugs are ceramic and made in China, and do not look as clean, smooth, and bright as the Corelle plates. Plus, they are heavier and they are breakable. Why does Corelle sell breakable mugs with their wonderfully un-breakable dishes? 2. The design on the bowls I received is all brown -- no beige or celedon. Why are the bowls not the same colors -- are they seconds? If so, that should definitely be stated in the description. I kept thinking that my computer monitor was simply not picking up the colors correctly. I will keep this set because otherwise, it's just what we need, and it's a good price. But it's a shame that the material of the mugs and color of the bowls don't match the other pieces.

Pretty good.
Being a lower priced corelle set, I should have realized that there would be cost savings somewhere in the product. The cereal/soup bowls have a smaller lip/edge than previous correlle sets that I have owned. They just seem smaller. Also, the bowls don't have the multi colored edge that the other pieces have, the design is all dark brown.

Light as a Feather!!
I was looking to replace my thick, heavy Wachersbach set. When you have a small space, every inch counts!! I ordered 2 sets and they are great. All 8 plates stack in the space of 2 of my ceramic set. As a matter of fact, the entire 2 sets of Corelle take up less space than just my old dinner plates. It has provided me a lot of extra cupboard space which is great. Added bonus is I can take out 8 plates with one hand, no chipping, no wrist strain! I too noticed that the print on the bowls was only in the brown color. I called the Corelle hotline (phone number is enclosed with the set), and they said that was the way the pattern was made -- all the bowls only have the brown on them, no other color. Not a big deal to me because I don't expect The Queen Of England over for dinner any time soon. I actually ordered more matching dinner plates from the Corelle hotline. They sell for $1.79 each plus a small shipping fee. They came in about 3 days. I would have ordered another complete set of dishes, but I don't need that many coffee cups. By the way, the cups are a pretty nice size compared to the old "teacup" style. They just don't stack well. I did notice that the plates and bowls are made in USA, while the cups are made in (where else?) China. Kind of a bummer in that respect, but the dishes are great. I did notice the price on Amazon keeps fluctuating from 22 to 34 bucks -- what's that about?

Delusa! Credevo di poter fare un servizio.
