Beautiful small tank for a fancy.fish to live in
Absolutely beautiful aquarium for a small area and one or two fish. Actually "glows" in a low light area.

Wonderful Aquarium for Beginners
Fantastic tank for our beta fish. We've never had an aquarium before so we wanted to start with something small. We got this and love it. Our fish loves it too!

These tanks are controversial, so here's how to keep a fish alive
I bought one of these a few years ago and killed about 4 betta fish over the span of 6 months. I decided to try again and bought a new tank (same style). It's been going well with the same betta for a year now. This is what I've learned: The tank is a giant magnifying glass. Makes everything inside look larger. Don't put it where sun will directly hit it at any point of the day. I fried a fish that way. I never replace the ceramic media and only occasionally replace the sponge filter. The nitrogen balance is delicate and here's what works for me: rinse the ceramic media and the sponge once a month in the old aquarium water and reuse both. The media and the sponge house the good bacteria that take care of the nitrogen, so you wanna keep them around. I do a complete water change once a month, sticking my beta in his little plastic bowl he came in, and I cycle out my decorations - I keep a 2nd set of the decorations to wash and have on hand. I never use any harsh chemicals to clean the tank or decorations and I rinse everything really well. I think going hard on cleaning algae with stronger chemicals may have killed a previous betta (despite rinsing well). I add stress coat and a quick starter to the fresh water each change. I have a small heater I got off Amazon that digitally displays the temp and I keep it at 80F. I have a vacuum hose for doing partial water changes and to help with emptying it for a complete water change because the tank is too fragile to carry full. I've found partial water changes are unnecessary unless I'm trying to go longer than a month without cleaning it out, I have testing strips and since I've gone to just rinsing the filter and gravel the nitrogen level is always 0. The complete water change is more to get rid of the algae and fish poop. The tank is too hard to clean without completely emptying it. The whole set up is inefficient and overpriced, but it's by far the prettiest small tank I've found. The decorations are unique and don't look cheap or tacky. The "filter" works by pumping air through the airstone/center sponge, which is supposed to assist water filtration through the media. I'm not sure how much that actually works, but because of this you're not supposed to pile much on top of the media or it won't work properly. I have some shells, decorative stones, and 2 to 3 fake plants in there. They make decorations that fit over the air tube, be sure you buy the right size though. I accidentally bought the size up (it wasn't listed on Amazon what size tank it was meant to go to) and it didn't fit the tank. The top has a pretty small opening. As a female with small hands, I have a hard time maneuvering my hand around in the tank. I bought a little air valve and cut the tubing, inserting it inline, so I can dial back the force of the bubbles - bettas don't like that much flow/disturbance. The bettas I had hid until I did that. The little air pump is noisy, setting it on a rolled towl quiets it. The tank has a small footprint and only requires the monthly maintenance for me. My betta is quite happy and very interactive in his tank. I don't think you could put any other kind of fish than a single betta in here. Other fish need more room and better filtration. People say it's even too small for a betta, but it's definitely much larger than the bowls they may live their lives at in the pet store. Also, if you need a replacement center decoration to hide the bubble tube, using a fake plant with a hair tie works fine.

Filter and leaking issues
Customer service with the manufacturer terrible! Supposedly there is a 2 year warranty, but when I had issues into 11 months of purchase I was asked a series of irrelevant questions and was told that they had never had this kind of issue with the product! First the filter/ filter holder was stuck and so I am unable to change the filter, then the aquarium started leaking.

not sure
i own 2 of these biOrb aquariums. they are absolutely beautiful. i get alot of compliments on them, and several friends & family members have purchased one after seeing mine... BUT im not sure i would buy them again. you cant see it in the photos, but the power cord comes right out of the top of it, and the (sold seperately) heater cord has to come out of the top too. there isnt a very good place to put the heater inside the tank either, theres no way to hide it. and the lights are insanely bright making all the fish hide, so i had to cover half the light with electrical tape to dim it. idk... theres alot of cords & the pump that have to be hidden beside the aquarium. i think i would prefer an aquarium that had all of those items neatly assembled together so you could just plug in one cord thats coming from the back/bottom.

10/10 LOVE
So I read the reviews carefully before purchasing. I took them seriously when they said that the large coral killed their Beta when it got stuck so I didnโt add it when setting up my Tank. I also added a small Tank heater since my Beta likes the warmer water and is more active. I did have to use a fishing weight and lure to anchor the smaller plant as it kept wanting to float to the top. It hovers just off the ground and my Beta can go under it with no problems. The Tank has stayed clear for two weeks now. I absolutely love it as does my Beta.
