Will this work ok with one of the magnetic rails you supply? Would it be strong enough?

Hi, Wild Earth don’t supply magnetic rails but it will work with a magnetic awning rail or one of our wild earth c channel awning rails.

I have a vwt5 swb and 240cm seems slightly too big by about 40cm and will mean there will be an overhang of material. Will this be an issue?

I also have a swb t5. If you ave an awning rail you will find its longer than 2.4m and the awaning will fit fine and there will not be an overhang.

does this product come with the aluminium rail to mount on the van, or is that a seperate purchase.

No it does not come with any fixtures to connect to your van. However it does have the bead sewn in that slides into the C tube which needs to be fixed to your van. It does have eyelets sewn in so you maybe able to attach guy lines and peg over the van roof. Reading this myself I’m not sure if I would understand this reply, so suggest you maybe contact Wild Earth directly.
