4.5 in. qt. Lemony Lace Elderberry (Sambucus) White Flowers with Yellow and Red Foliage

I ordered two 4.5 quart Lemony Lace Elderberries. They were packaged well and delivered quickly. The soil on both plants was still moist upon arrival and they’re about 8 inches tall. One plant is definitely more full than the other. The leaves were a little wilted, but I suppose that’s to be expected from a plant with delicate leaves. I was happy to find these on Amazon because the Lemony Lace variety that I have seen in the gallon size at my local nurseries this year have had a similar amount of foliage, but have been three times the price. I’m excited to get these planted. I planted one two years ago that was similar in size to these and it’s now 3 feet tall and a really beautiful addition to my yard.

This little 4.5 inch pot came well packaged and with a little brown on the edges of the plant. I received it in February; let it stay in my garage for a couple of days and put it outside in a fairly protected area. It is now April, the plant has tripled in size and looks very healthy. I have yet to plant but will do so shortly. Would appreciate any advice on the so called "naturalizing" of plant.

Packaged well. Plant was a little beat up but bounced right back after it was planted. Would recommend.

I received this with a bunch of branches and leaves broken off. Not worth $30 in my opinion. At this point I’m not sure if it’s going to look lopsided or if more branches will grow, but losing all this foliage has set the plant back and it will take some time to see how it does. Disappointed!

I ordered and received a black lace elderberry that was perfectly packaged and delivered looking healthy and vigorous. I was so impressed I immediately ordered the lemony lace. I received a smaller, unpadded package with the plant suffocating inside a sealed plastic bag. It was completely cooked. I gave a 3 star review for Amazon providing the opportunity to try again with another black lace elderberry, and hopefully I will receive another well-packaged, healthy shrub. I love the lemony lace, but with all puns intended, this particular delivery left me totally sour.

It was very well packaged. The plant was small but healthy. I planted it right away, and it has flourished. It’s at least twice it’s original size now, and is loaded with those wonderful yellowish leaves. I couldn’t find this plant locally. The good packaging, fast delivery, and quality of this plant, made the price worth it to me. Great accent, or feature plant.

Tried to find this plant locally but no one had it. Was reluctant to order online but so glad I did. It's only been in the ground for 2 months but has at least tripled its size. If I can get it thru this hot dry summer it will be stunning. It's near my front entrance and people always comment on it. It looks very much like a lemon lime cut leaf Japanese maple. I may order another one in the fall to put somewhere. Anywhere.

Just seeing if it possible to replace the one plant that didn't take. Otherwise all the other plants did take and are beautiful.
