Is this German made? I hear rumor that the slide is hard to push. is this true? I have a Super 64 and the slide is pushes easily. Thanks for the comments

Although not marked as made in Germany, Hohner has a major factory in Germany and as far as I know it is the only source for all their musical instruments. At one time they also made accordions, and probably still do.They used to include an engraving of the plant printed on onion skin paper in which they wrapped their harmonicas. (I think it was printed before WW1). The quality is good, and the slide is not difficult to push. I had a earlier model of the 64, and found eventually, a little lubrication helped.

why are the notes C and D in hole 5 of the Educator whereas for most other harmonicas these are hole 4?

Because the harmonica is chromatic it is Solo tuned. C4 and D4 are blow 1 and suck 1. C5 and D5 are blow 1 or blow 5 for C5 and suck 5 for D5.

Is the centre-to-centre hole spacing the same as the Hohner chromatic harmonicas with valves or are the holes spaced farther apart?

Slightly wider than the 270 deluxe.
