Safety 1stMulti-Purpose Latch,White 2-Count

First bought this exact item when my child stared walking and used it on appliances. Was great, stayed on, and the latch was easy for us adults. That’s was over 2 decades ago. Fast forward to now - Needed to buy something to keep one cat from finding a way to open the lid of her sissy’s automatic feeder to get at her food, which is different than what’s in her feeder. I went searching for this at it would be perfect! And it is just like the ones from 20+ years ago! No issues with the latch or the adhesive. Perfect function and very reasonable! Go for the brand name!

Babies & toddlers: These work great for babies & toddlers, if they are well supervised - babies & toddlers are crafty, if you leave them alone, they will crack the code on opening these. We never let ours see how we opened it - ha! That bought us 3yrs before the latches were figured out.ALL fridge/freezer doors: Long after the baby & toddler years, we still use ours on every fridge and freezer door!! After my husband left our standing freezer open, and we lost hundreds of dollars of food, we put these on everything! Now we never have to worry about spoiled food. If you locked this, then you know that the door is closed, and even no food inside can push the door open either. Excellent!! No more ruined food!RV use: We also use them in our travel trailer - we travel thousands of miles every year, and like the peace of mind knowing that important cabinets haven't opened up while we're on the road. I recommended keeping a spare or two in your rv/trailer, if you travel often, because these do sometimes pop off the wooden cabinet surfaces. The good news is that even the fake wood surface of our ultralight trailers cabinets has not come off from the foam adhesive :) (whew!)We give these five stars because these are terrific latches! You will have to replace them over time - either the latch's hard plastic part will break from frequent use, or else the sticky tape foam will pop off your RV/trailer cabinet at random moments (these weren't made to stick on cabinets, but hold forever on fridge/freezer doors). Just go back to your Amazon previous orders list, and reorder them. Never having to throw out the contents of your freezer or eating spoiled meat in the fridge, makes these A GREAT BUY!! :)

This dishwasher/ fridge child safety lock is great. It works good, durable. My daughter is ver smart when it comes to figuring things out. She knows how to open it but she can’t cuz it’s durable and the clip is strong enough that she can’t get it open. Definitely and ease of mind knowing she can’t pull anything sharp out of the dishwasher. If came in a two pack and I will be putting one on the fridge as well now that I know it’s a good product. Also the stickiness of the tape is also VERY strong so it’s definitely not going to just come off on its own over time. Worth the purchase.

We bought this for our freezer so our toddler doesn’t open it. The adhesive was not strong enough and was slightly short. It did not last for more than a week. Definitely needed a strong material or adhesive.

I cleaned the surfaces very well with rubbing alcohol and let dry. witha couple days the none clicp side was popping loose. the adhesive stickes well tot he fridge but the side on the plastic clip came off the clip and will not stay in place.

I read all of the negative reviews and I think people might not have "cured" it properly. They need to be treated like command strips. Press and hold for a minute, then do not immediately use them to open and close the door. Let it sit for a few hours or so.The locking part is slightly annoying, but I just used them to keep my freezer closed because it has a bad seal. So, hey, if you're looking for that, it does a fine job. If you remember it's on there and don't just walk away being absent minded.

These were purchased to keep my 3 1/2 year old from accessing the fridge without parent supervision after an early morning escapade left us with half a cake.The application was easy. Clean the area with rubbing alcohol, peel the paper off the sticky pads and stick them onto the fridge. I applied some even pressure to ensure that they secured properly. You are suppose to let the adhesive cure for 24 hours. We managed to leave it to cure for about 14 hours and they have stayed secured. I've accidentally yanked on this without unlocking it and it has not broken yet. You'd have to exert a lot of pressure or be constantly yanking on it to make it break. It unlatches fairly easily with just one hand and is easy to lock back together. I have not tried to remove it yet, so I can't speak to what the adhesive may do to the fridge. I wouldn't use these on an uneven or marbled surface as the air pockets under the adhesive would make it less effective. It's not the prettiest thing but it's barely noticeable on our white fridge. I also leave it unlocked during the day when we are around to supervise anyway. If you want to leave it unlatched sometimes, one thing you have to watch out for is that the strap doesn't get stuck in the seal between the door and fridge.Overall I was skeptical that this would hold up to toddlers and adults accidentally yanking on it, but it has been very effective and easy to use thus far.EDIT (10/02/2016): We moved out of our old apartment so I wanted to update on how well the adhesive allowed us to remove this. One piece came off really easily once you exerted the force needed to peel it. The second piece (the smaller one that fits on the side) was a little more difficult. We had to carefully pry that one away but once we got it started it came off and left minimal residue. The residue is easy enough to clean off with cleaners or rubbing alcohol. No damage at all to the fridge.

I have been using these for years and love them! They work great and keep things closed. I use mine for stand up freezers as well as a small work fridge (not pictured). Keeps the doors closed and puts less strain on the seal during power outages. I'm sure these can be used for many things as the adhesive is on the heavy-duty side. Highly recommended!

Great product! I was using sticky-back velcro before to keep the cat from opening the fridge. He was strong enough to defeat it. This product is great though. No way he can get the latch open. :D

Our basement fridge doesn't stay closed, so this latch set is perfect for the task. The 2-pack gives us a spare for when the latch gives up the ghost (this is our second purchase) - they seem to last for about 5 years or thereabouts. :). Good value all around.

This is the best safety product I wish it came in bulk.
