Excellent!
I bought this to use for an outdoor heated water bowl. Instructions were easy to follow, but I would have preferred that it arrived disassembled. I had a great deal of difficulty separating the two pieces, both because they snap together so tightly & because I have limited strength in my hands. However, once separated, I had no trouble attaching the inner & outer sections to the two cords & reassembling it. It has performed flawlessly through both a blizzard & torrential rain, both of which were accompanied by high winds. I use it in a chain link kennel. It is on the ground with no other protection, exposed to the elements & my 2 pet chickens. They were initially afraid of it, but became curious & decided to assault it. The girls are rather large at about 8-10 lbs with very strong pecking ability, but they're no match for this. Not even even a scratch or dent. It works perfectly & the value can't be beat.

Works exactly as I hoped.
I looked all over town for something that would cover extension chord plugs. No one had them. Found these on Amazon and ordered a bunch. Using right now for an outdoor fountain I set up in the summer months. Will also use for holiday lights. I really like the bright orange that shows/reminds that an extension chord is near. Obviously, not for a permanent electrical use but works very well for a temporary set up. Hard plastic snaps open and closed, and sits inside each other for a good water resistant seal. Living in the northwest rain is the issue. Will be interesting to see how the plastic holds up with cold winter temps.

Best cord lock
I wanted a device to keep my outdoor tools from disconnecting from the extension cord This has been a great solution to the problem. It keeps the tool short cord and the extension cord together. I have not been able to determine if the connection is water-resistant since it hasn't rained all summer. Simple design yet effective and adjustable.

Not Submersible, But Great For Wet Ground and Rain
I've used two of these so far, one green and one orange. I work at a car rental agency, and I bought these to use to connect our shop vac to an extension cord. We can't use a speed bump type cord cover for this because the vac moves around a lot. The wash area where we clean the cars is almost continuously wet, both with shallow standing water and spray from hoses. This little gizmo does the job of keeping the cords connected, lifting them off the wet ground, and protecting the connection from water spray. It is not intended to be submerged under water, and should not be used for this purpose. But we have never had any problems with connectivity or electrical shorts while using this cover in areas with standing water puddles less than 1" deep. It has 2 significant "flaws": 1. The openings on either end where the cords come out are vulnerable to abrasion/pinch damage over time, and you may find some insulation wear on the cords at those points. Wrapping them with tape has limited use because the opening is just large enough for the cord and doesn't really accommodate any additional thickness such as tape. 2. If you run over it with a car, it's done for. That's how the last two we've had died. Of course, this cover is not intended to withstand that (it would be nice if it were made of a thick, rigid rubber), but they are inexpensive enough that replacing them periodically is not a big deal. This is the only product of its kind on the market that I can find, so for now it will have to do. But it does its job well, within the limitations of its design.

Brilliant Design
Although I have three other cord connectors of varied design(one open frame & two closed capsule)this is BY FAR the best and most durable. Such protective connectors are ideal for coupling 2 heavy gauge cords for extended runs on powered yard tools, in lieu of a single heavy cord that must be fully deployed, gets underfoot, and later must be untangled for stowage. Not only are shorter cords easier to coil, you can use just one cord when closer to the power source. Longer runs waste energy through power loss and using a cord still tightly wound on a drum is not recommended. Especially with snow blowers, you can use a 50 foot flexible low-temperature cord closer to the machine and a less pliant outdoor extension farthest from the blower where there is less cord movement. The design is far smaller than others (it screws down in length on the ends of the connection) and uses operating hinges rather than thinned plastic hinge joints which will ultimately fatigue and crack. In fact, to uncouple the cords you just untwist and can leave the covers captive on the cord ends if you choose. My other three all allow the plugs to pull apart to varying degrees as tension is accidentally applied (the ratcheted internal clips often slip). Best of all its designed and made in America! Of course nothing is "waterproof" (nor idiotproof) only moisture resistant. You can fill in the rest of that thought.

Water-tight? Not really. Water-resistant? Yes
Since this is basically one giant plastic screw, it is very easy to get misaligned and can be difficult to assemble and disassemble at times. Also water can still drip down the actual cord and into the product, making this definitley not water tight. It does, however, create a cover that keeps the cord connection out of standing water or overhead rain. Decent product.

Works well to keep weather out of your plugged in outdoor stuff
I use this to protect the junction between my extension cord and the cord end of my horse trough heater. It keeps the elements out so that the trough heater doesn't pop a breaker during inclement (i.e. wet) weather. I keep the cord connector up and out of the way of the horse's prying lips, and away from the trough. It was easy to set up. If you need to access it for any reason in the winter, bring a butter knife with you to pry the clips open. I had to do this once to test my heater, and I thought I was going to break the clips off because it was so cold outside (low double digits).

This is a really good cord connect that I use with a heater for ...
This is a really good cord connect that I use with a heater for my birdbath. It is more compact than anything else on the market - a really great design. Have used multiple years outside in the rain, ice, sleet, and snow and it is a safe and effective way to protect a connection. Love the way it both clicks close and screws together.

AWESOME IDEA! SAFETY FIRST! Buy these to avoid electrical fires!
After having 2 outdoor electrical fires caused by combined extension cords inadvertently sitting in water (melted snow, actually) this past winter, I decided to purchase these cord connectors. They are water-tight and easy to add to your combined extension cords. Now that we have these, I won't need to worry about electrical cords sparking, smoking and catching fire to anything in their reach!!! In addition to that, we will now not need to purchase new electrical cords to replace any that may have caught on fire.

Easy to use
Well constructed with heavy duty plastic parts. Easy to use. It will do the job but needs to incorporate a split rubber seal on each end so that the cord is better protected from moisture and insects once the unit is closed up. That said, I'm happy with this purchase.

Just okay
Does the job but tabs that lock the thing closed damaged after a couple of uses. Still working though just needs some help with tape.

Four Stars
Great product overall. Works well for new extension cords, but won't fit over the larger replacement ends.
