does it really stop dogs barking?

Yes it does. We have three little dogs who get very excited when someone comes in the door. We only used it for a couple days then turned it off. We have turned it on a few times to reinforce but I think it worked like a charm. It was suggested by a friend with two big dogs that used to bark non stopIn the car. Worked like magic for them.

we got a petsafe bark control but no instructions. does the red light go on when the dog barks or is it the flashing green one

The red light comes on when it detects barking. The green light flashes every few seconds to show that the battery is still working.

Will a baby crying set this off?

I’m pretty sure every thing sets it off cause my dog was acting strange and scared with baby’s crying and tv on ect. I had to take batterie out. The first time she barked if worked but there after when it was going off with other noise I could tell. She was scared. So I will do it manually I guess.

If you have multiple dogs, only one of whom barks, does this stress the non-barking dog?

I have two dogs. My older dog stops barking but the puppy will bark a few more times before he stops. It does stress out my other dog. She goes in a corner and shakes :( I tried the shock color but when the older dog barks and the puppy doesn't, then the puppy is being shocked because of the other dog! I can't win :(
