Way better than I thought.
The book arrived in less than the 2 day promise. Absolutely wonderful service! When I opened the box, my initial reaction the book was way too thin to be useful in any way. Honestly, I was sure I was going to return the book. I wavered for a couple hours of even removing the shrink-wrap. Glad I did. This book is AMAZING! It's up to date for the new NCLEX -- so now worries there. It is also a LOT like the Saunder's Nclex book except that Process, Diagnoses, Assessments, Interventions & teaching is all worked in. Your critical thinking skills are definitely given a boost in the right direction-- especially if you are like me and can't figure out easily that polycythemia is common in children with cyanotic heart anomalies!! Also, there are the HESI hints throughout -- letting you know that Nclex will test heavily in some areas -- such as respiratory parameter rates and key signs of respiratory distress. What a fabulous heads up! I have already used sections to study with for my current lecture material and find it to be one of the most helpful Nclex reviews ever. FAR superior from Saunders (of which I own three versions)

NCLEX prep
Lots of good information in here to help with that nasty NCLEX exam! No matter how much you study and prepare the exam sucks but use this book with other books as well as practicing all the questions you can get your hands on.

If You Want To Pass The HESI....... Buy This Book!!!!!
I bought this book for my college senior nursing student daughter. Here is her review!!! I am a senior nursing student having to take the HESI exam to graduate. My mom bought me this book to help me study, and it is an excellent study tool. It highlights specific areas that will be specifically covered on the exam. I have heard from previous seniors, as well as, a nursing instructor that everything that is on the exam is covered in the book. There is also an online portion that has tons of NCLEX questions that coincide with the material being reviewed in the book. As all nursing students well know, nursing professors seem to NOT teach everything that needs to be taught. This book fills in the gaps of knowledge that should have been filled, in the classroom. Excellent book; I highly recommend it to any nursing student having to take the HESI.

This book has excellent content review and the HESI hints that are in the book come up in questions quite frequently. This book is CONTENT only, there are no questions. I found this book useful when I needed to look up information that I did not know. Also used this book to review when preparing to take the HESI (several times), but doing questions and remediating is what is the most important. This is a good reference and content book to use at the beginning of your preparation and also as a reference guide to look up information when answering questions to refresh your memory. I thought it was helpful for preparing for both HESI and NCLEX.

I mainly bought this book for my mental health HESI and it was the best nursing book I have bought so far
I am currently entering my 3rd semester of nursing school out of 5 and I bought this book for my 2nd semester. I mainly bought this book for my mental health HESI and it was the best nursing book I have bought so far. The Green boxes in each section are absolute gold and really help you focus on what you need for the HESI. The book is sectioned off by subject like mental health, fundamentals, med-serg, etc. By no means is this the only book you need to pass the HESI. You also have to rely on the knowledge you have gained throughout your current semester and previous semesters, but as I said above it is a great summery to help focus all the material you have learned so far and PAY ATTENTION to the green boxes. My HESI had at least one question from every green box. Our college requires an 850 to pass and I got a 1002 (88%) and there was a girl who bought this book too and she made a 100% (no joke, didn't believe her till I saw it for myself). **Note her score is not typical. Hope this book brings you the knowledge and everything you are looking for in a prep book.

The best book to study for Hesi Exit Exam
The best book to study for Hesi Exit Exam. It's a must have for this test. I also highly recommend yourbestgrade.com. It is a website designed just for this test. I heard about it from different students that had practiced through that site after failing the first time and passed the second thanks to this site and the book too. I wish I had heard about it before my first attempt but I'm glad I heard before I took the second since I unfortunately failed the first try. If you do register for that site, I highly suggest that you start from the specialty/subject test (try to do them all) and then advance to the practice test and lastly to the Exit Exams (6 exams of 160 questions each). It's a must do! I wish you the best!! Good luck to all!

helpful
it's a good basic review book. i used it some in school to help break down big concepts into smaller bits. my problem with it is that it's pretty basic; it doesn't really explain things as well as the hurst review book. i used it some to study for my exit exams, but i got frustrated with it and ordered the hurst book.

Easy to read and understand
At the end of every semester we are required to take a HESI test and achieve an 850 or higher. If you don't, than you're required to do remediation on the material prior to starting the next semester. I have been achieving between 750-800 and always have to do remediation. I was getting fustrated and decided to buy a book that would help me study. I just recently finished my maternity rotation and took the end of semester HESI exam and passed with a 1043! I was blown away! This book is extremely helpful. Easy to read and understand. The HESI and N-CLEX hint boxes are great as well! I highly recommend purchasing it!
