How long is the handle? My husband is 6'5", and looking for a shovel that will accommodate his height.

The handle is 48.5". That's measured from the end to the top of the blade. I think it would work fine for a taller man. It's a heavy shovel, which I think is a good thing as it seems to make digger deeper holes easier.Good luck.

Can this shovel withstand the elements? I want to leave it in my pickup trucks bed (open to the elements) but fear it would rust? Will it rust?

It is metal so I would expect it to rust eventually. I paid $17 and bent the blade a little under heavy use trying to pry a huge pipe out of the grind and prying up some huge rocks. It won’t handle extreme abuse but it is a tuff little emergency shovel. I’d pay for the Bully full size shovel for everyday use, and get a pry bar if you need to pry on stuff. It’s a good deal for 100% made in USA. My kids love it for treasure hunting with their Bounty Hunter metal detector.

Is the steel Tempered???
