In depth look into US foreign policy
I had to read some chapters for class and got hooked right off the bat. This book goes in great length and vivid detail about the atmosphere during the decision making of major events. If you are into US foreign policy I highly recommend this book

Not just for classroom reading. Everyone should be aware of how their government thinks.
I've read the book for a class. It's an interesting and eye opening look into US foreign policy leading up to just a few years ago. It's a textbook technically but is a manageable book of a few hundred pages. My book was high quality paperback.

College required textbook
This book is good, although there appears to be a little lack in some organization qualities but overall, the information that is used within the textbook is great and recent.

Finally, a book assigned that I can enjoy
Absolutely love this book. It is one of the easiest reads I've ever had in college and it keeps me continuously interested. It is definitely not stuffed with annoying, pretentious phrases or words that would make me feel inferior to these great political leaders... Instead, Houghton includes comical situations and actual quotes that help the reader relate to the most difficult decisions that have been made in the White House. You will be able to understand why the U.S. went into Vietnam, why we invaded Iraq and why the heck did we got involved in Kosovo. Maybe you'll even come to love the key players that have made decisions you would never agree with. You will definitely want to have a drink with Madeline Albright, that's for certain.I am currently finishing up Houghton's class that is based around this book and although I'll barely come out with a "B" caused by a major case of senioritus, I have loved every bit of information and knowledge I have gained. I'm keeping the book, you can't have it. I'll probably read it again over the summer.
