Maybelline Super Stay 24, 2-Step Liquid Lipstick Makeup, Long Lasting Highly Pigmented Color with Moisturizing Balm, Frosted Mauve, Mauve Pink, 1 Count

In my quest to find the perfect lipstick that doesn’t fade or smudge or disappear if I drink something or brush my teeth or eat a bite of something. I’ve tried dozens and dozens of brands and colors only to be disappointed. Not now!! I’ve finally found the perfect brand: MAYBELLINE COLOR STAY 24!! This lip stain does NOT fade or wipe off or disappear for hours and hours! It’s completely smudge resistant!! Not only does this lipstick stay on for a true 24 hours. It also comes with its own glossy moisturizer that helps seal the color and moisturizes your lips. I woke up this morning and what a nice surprise that this lipstick is still on my lips! It stayed on even after I washed my face with soap and water! All I had to do to do is reapply the moisturizer and I’m all set!! I should mention here that if you need to get it off all you need to do is rub some Vaseline on your lips and wipe off, do this 3-4 times and your lips are free. This is an amazing lipstick and it comes in tons of colors! Now, I just had to find the perfect color for my complexion. That was another hurtle. I have literally tried 9 different colors of this line before I found THE ONE! I’m olive complected , tan easily but am quite pale in the wintertime and I needed rose-ish, mauve-ish, plum-ish color, that doesn’t wash out my skin tone like the reds do, and I needed a color to complement my rosy cheeks and not make my lips pale like the pinks do. Sounds crazy, I know! But I was determined to find the perfect color for me in this Maybelline line. And here it is: TIMELESS ROSE! It’s vibrant but not dark. It’s subtle but not pale. It’s a nice light rose color that has some shine and it complements my skin beautifully My now favorite line and favorite color! I’m in love!!

This style of lipstick (really lip stain) with included clear gloss balm has been my go-to favorite for over a decade. The color lasts through kissing, eating, and drinking without leaving any stains behind. The only residue one might see is after the lip balm is freshly applied. The balm accentuates the color and provides moisturization for the lips. It's great that both formulas are included in one container. The base color lasts and lasts all day. Only occasionally, if you've had an especially greasy meal, would the color need to be re-applied during the day. It just stays put. There isn't a discernable smell. Texture is minimum. The balm is soothing. This particular shade of rosy pink has a slightly bluish tint, which keeps it away from the orangey shade which might make one's teeth look more yellow. This should have the opposite effect, making teeth look whiter and brighter. It's a lovely medium shade that is especially flattering for springtime.

This stuff literally stays on all day. I'm not exaggerating - through eating, drinking, talking, everything. It just doesn't budge. The two-step system works. The color goes on first, let it dry, then the balm keeps your lips from feeling dried out. Once it sets, you can pretty much forget you're wearing it. Just be cautious putting it on. It is a stain. I don't have to reapply constantly or worry about it smearing on cups or transferring. It just stays put exactly where you put it. The only downside is you need a good makeup remover to get it off at the end of the day, but that's the trade-off for actual staying power.

I like this product,though I can understand why some might not. I'll try to list my pros and cons. This shade was darker than I expected, but still a nice red. It seems to be neutral- in some lights it seems warmer and in some lights cooler. It is a marsala color (2015 color of the year), a deep red wine color. it is intense without being bright or garish. It will lessen in intensity with time. It does not stay on 24 hours, but it stays on longer than most of my lipsticks. It will not last as long if you eat oily foods.It does have staying power. It absolutely will NOT transfer if you apply it correctly. Which leads to things that might be 'cons' for some people. You must apply this correctly. Apply the color, and wait the full two minutes (or longer) before applying the balm. It will feel sticky or tacky as it dries, but this will go away when you apply the balm. Then it feels fine. I said it stays on longer than my other lipsticks, but the downside of this is if you mess up applying it, you now have a red spot on your face. Keep some make up remover on hand. A swipe with a make up remover pen or remover on a q tip will take care of mistakes. As this is a liquid lipstick, you need to be careful applying it. I line my lips with it carefully, then fill in. It will wear off with time, and as it wears off it can be a little patchy. If it has not worn off by bedtime, you will need make up remover to get it off. All this might seem like a lot of work for a lip color, but it's worth it to me as you can get the hang of it quickly and it stays on a long time so you have few touch ups, plus... IT WILL NOT TRANSFER. No lip marks on cups or glasses-- or on my husband's face! I also have this in the chestnut color which I love as well (it's not quite as intense- that one is rather a 1990s brown, whereas this is a classic deep red).

At first, I wasn't impressed. The name of this is Maybelline Super Stay 24. Maybe I'm dumb, but I presumed the "24" meant the lipstick lasted 24 hours. It so does not. But take out that "24". What you're left with is an easy to apply liquid lipstick. Wait a few minutes, and apply the built-in gloss for a superlative shine. This color will stay with you while you drink your breakfast coffee. Depending on what you have for lunch, the color may fade, but mostly on the lower lip. After lunch, brush your teeth (do NOT remove the lipstick), reapply the color, wait a few, then reapply the gloss. This stuff will last until the end of the work day and possibly even beyond. i find several things impressive about this lipstick: the number of colors, both matte and shimmer; the built-in gloss; the fact that the color is relatively "thin" so you don't have to take time to fully remove if you don't have to--just layer the color, wait a minute, apply the gloss and go. My favorite lip colors are the deep, dark reds, so my favorite one here is Optic Ruby. I have one in my bathroom and in my handbag. And the price is reasonable. In my opinion, Maybelline does a fine job of lipsticks. The closest rival to Super Stay 24 is Maybelline Matte Ink (Exhilarator and Voyager for the dark reds). I wore those colors for years before I retired because the color really did stay on forever, even through lunch. The only problem was my lips would sometimes become dry, and if I tried any kind of gloss, the lipstick would smear. So at this point in my life, this lippie is my favorite. Hope this helps. Thanks.

I love this lipstick. It reminds me of the fake tattoos you can get. Stays on forever and great colors. Follow the directions. Leave it on a full two minutes before applying the top coat. I blot the color right after applying to tone it down a bit.

Unfortunately this was a no go for me. I get that lip stain is not as moisturizing and can be thicker, stickier etc but this was just not a pleasant texture. It also had almost no color. I got pink, and it doesn't give much color at all. But the main reason I'm giving only 3 stars is because it is mostly chapstick on one end, and a very small amount of lip gloss on the other. I could have purchased chapstick a lot cheaper. This was literally like a sample size of lip gloss. I didn't think it was a good value at all.

I love this Super Stay 24 Liquid Lipstick by Maybelline! (Side Note: I'm so happy to have finally found a source for my preferred color, too!). It comes with the lipstick on one end and a transparent moisturizing lip balm on the other, all in one slim tube. What's especially great about this product is that once you apply it, it dries super quickly, and voila! you're DONE for the day. It will absolutely not come off until you remove it (I suggest using micellar water on a cotton pad. Nothing else has worked for me.) It's not overly expensive, doesn't make a mess in your bag, won't smear, won't stain your coffee mug (or transfer to your Sweetie!). I like the fact that the applicator for the lip color is short, too. It's easier to control than long ones. It comes in a ton of colors and "finishes" from matte to shiny, and frosted (my fave!). This lipstick is an absolute ESSENTIAL for me.
