iPhone 5 Brushed Aluminum Sliver Cases - Sold by CASE-MATE

UPDATE: In the time I've had this case, I've dropped my phone more than I've dropped any phone I've owned so far. I even managed to throw my phone over the top of my car, and onto the pavement when I slipped on some ice during the winter. The case itself has held up remarkably well, and more importantly, my phone still looks and works like new. I figure it's only fair to bump up my initial rating because this case has more than served it's purpose at this point.Original Review -I had fairly low expectations when I ordered this case to begin with, as I just wanted a cheap and innocuous case I could put my new phone in while I shop around for a really nice case that will be my permanent one.I decided to spend 11 dollars, instead of 6, to get the silver case instead of the black one, because, well, I liked the look of it better. When my case arrived, the packaging was in pretty poor shape, and although the tag with the barcode indicated that it was a silver case, the case that was actually in the packaging is pretty undeniably black. I realize that if the tag is wrong, it's a fairly simple shipping error to make as no one is going to question the computer, but it is the wrong color, and I did end up paying more for a product that I didn't ultimately receive. Not enough to make it worth dealing with the return process, especially for a temporary case, but something worth keeping in mind for any future purchases.The construction of the case seems good enough, considering the price, and I do at least get the feeling it will protect my phone fairly well. The case does have a nice snug fit, and the soft layer of padding on the inside seems like it will add a nice little bit of protection in a fall. Those are the factors that kept this from being a one star review. That being said, the shell is fairly thick, and the cut outs for reaching buttons are very small, so unless you have long fingernails, it's quite difficult to press the power and volume buttons unless you have long fingernails or possibly very tiny fingers, and getting a successful fingerprint read on the 5s is challenging for anybody.If you need a cheap case that seems pretty durable, this one is probably fine, but I don't imagine you'd be any more disappointed trying a different one. Also, I'd probably try to find a seller other than Mobile Fox. I haven't purchased many phone cases online, but this is the first time I've received the incorrect one.

I was a little hesitant to buy this case. I love Case-Mates, but I prefer my cases to be thin and easy to get in and out of my pocket. I also don't care for the rubbery texture of some cases, and the pictures made this case appear rubbery. Even though I had reservations, I decided to buy the case because I loved the colors in the picture. I definitely don't regret it!The colors in the case are stunningly bright and beautiful in person. Not like some cases you buy online and the colors are different and more muted than they were in pics. They are even better than the pics. Although made to be a "tough" case and cover more of the phone than some of their other cases (like the glimmer and barely there cases), this case is still surprisingly thin. I can easily slide it in and out of my pants pocket. It's not bulky like some other brands' tough cases (like otterboxes...it's thinner than the thinnest otterbox I've ever tried). It still protects the phone really well, though, and with a 16month old who is quickly becoming an accomplished pick-pocket, that is a very good thing. Lol. Also, although it appears rubbery in the pics, it doesn't feel it at all. It's textured but not gummy.My ONLY complaint is that the bottom part of the teal piece (that covers the speaker & microphone area) is a tiny bit loose. It seems like they could have made that part to fit a little tighter. But that is a very small complaint and not even worth deducting a star for.I would buy this case a million times over. In fact, I'm thinking about ordering another color. My mom bought the blue and grey one for her brand new iPhone 5 that my brother and I gave her for her birthday, and she loves hers too. I definitely recommend this case! Don't hesitate, get one now!

I used the Case Mate Barely There case for my iPhone 4 -- loved it. Very small footprint, added very little extra weight/bulk to the device. As the names says, it's "barely there."The case covers the back of the phone, with the exception of the camera, and all of the corners and sides. Offers excellent protection (although, just once, I dropped my iPhone 4 at *just* the wrong angle, and it landed on a section of the phone not covered by the case, resulting with a chip out of the enamel on the bottom of the phone, just above the dock connector. The design is exactly the same here, so while the phone will be protected from most drops, you should stil be careful!)For the most part, Case Mate brought that same concept to the iPhone 5 version of the case, with one exception.The lips of the case, that clip around the iPhone 5 sides, noticably extend beyond the edge of the phone -- almost like they designed the case thinking that the iPhone 5 was an extra milimeter thicker than it actually is. There's a noticable extension beyond the iPhone 5 form factor, where as before on the iPhone 4, there was not.For now I'm keeping this case, as there are not a lot of accessories around yet, but I will likely switch to something similar that does not extend out beyond the screen.

This product is tough just like its name. I have dropped it off tables and while it plummets to the ground, I rest assured that it will remain safe in its case. This case has protected my iPhone 5 with minimal impact. The outside of the purple case wore down quickly on the back edge and has started turning white as the purple has been rubbed off. I really don't like that since my boyfriend with the blue/grey case has had no impact on the color. I have also noticed discoloration on the bottom of the turquoise bumper case by the speaker holes. These cosmetic flaws don't interfere with the protection of the phone so I am okay with them. This case remains streamline and I have gotten many compliments on it. A solid, sturdy case that doesn't take up too much space and slips in and out of your pocket easily.

Case is strong and works well to protect against damage when phone is dropped, however, the rubber discolours quickly, and the plastic outer casing scratches/discolours easily as well

Really expensive and sharp looking..

初代iPhone SEのスペースグレイに使用しており、とても気に入ってます。良いと思う点はタイトル通りで、・二重構造の仕組みで落下の破損から本体をシッカリと守ってくれそう。・シェルの素材とチェックのエンボス加工でスベりにくくて持ちやすい。・無駄のないシンプルなデザインとサイズでスタイリッシュ。さらに手ごろな価格もうれしいメリットかと。良くないと思う点は本体とのフィット精度やケース同士の噛み合わせ精度が甘いみたいで、・ソフトバンパーフレームにたわみが出来て本体コネクト部分あたりが若干浮きがある。・ハードシェルが本体に対してタイト過ぎて装着すると外に拡がってケース全体に反りがでる。・電源ボタン部分が固くてボタンを押すにはかなりの力が必要になる。それ以外にもシェル表面のチェックのエンボス処理（塗装？）が削れやすいみたいで、少し固いものにこすれたりするとエンボス部分(主にカドの所)がすりへってツルっとテカリ始めますのでご注意を。色はホワイトを選択したので使っているとどんどん汚れが目立ってきそうですが、落ち着いた感じの白色シェルにグレイのフレームが思っていた以上にiPhone本体の黒色部分とマッチしていて、大人なオシャレ感が個人的にはポイント高いです。全体的には、海外製品にありがちな作りの甘さはあるものの自分的には許容範囲で、それを差し引いても満足な買い物でした。今後気になる点は、ケースの汚れと耐久性。それからまだ落とした事がないので実際の保護性能。といったところでしょうか。（あと、色移りにも気をつけなきゃ）

【良かった点】・本革だから滑らずしっくり。・ケース自体は硬いので衝撃に強そう。・本革なのにどこよりも安い。【残念な点】・液晶面に厚さ0.33mmの保護ガラスを貼ったらキツキツに。もう力任せに押し込まないとフリップが閉まらないくらい。一度入ってしまえば問題ないんだけど、女性には無理そう…。・充電時はフリップを開けておかねばならないこと。2018/11/12 追記）8ヶ月経過。開け閉めで折れ曲がる部分がボロボロに。もうすぐ分離しそう。スマホほとんど使わないんで一日3～4回しか開け閉めしないのに。残念ながら耐久性がないということ。

I bought this case for my iPhone 5, because the case I had bought prior was too bulky and I wanted something that was more streamlined and pleasing to the eye, and this case definitely fit the bill. It covers my phone nicely, while still allowing free access to the buttons & other openings for easy use! I've had my case-mate for about 3 months now and haven't had any problems with it at all....I absolutely love my new Case-Mate Barely There iPhone 5 case and would definitely recommend it as a great buy!
