Absolutely awesome case for my Daniel Defense AR with scope but directions lack. So I wrote my own.
The best case I've owned. I did done a ton of research and decided to go with this one due to the ratings it received. I was not disappointed. It has a built in anti-corrosion system which I didn't know. Pros: Fits my Daniel Defense V5 with scope and bi-pod attached no problem with room to spare. 4 corner compartments that can hold a 30 round clip, bi-pod, scope, etc when detached. Very sturdy construction with optional straps that can be anchored to the case. Cons: For such an awesome case the directions leaflet suck. Brevity is the sole of wit but the directions lack in any real functional explanation and makes it seems like a chore to set it up; which it's not. Can pinch fingers when snapping the latches while holding the carrier handle. Not really a con due to the latches and seal being hard and tight. So more like a warning. Only 4 straps provided. I feel 6 would be optimal. Here's an explanation on how to set it up and it's features: It comes with 4 dividers. They are plastic but these are made with the anti-corrosion material. Just having them in the case prevents corrosion, they just conveniently made them dividers as well. @ 36 seconds you can see how that material prevents corrosion: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=vJscjAuaKLc There are 2 sections of egg shell foam, one for the top lid and one for the bottom. (The lid to me is the half of the case that comes down, when the latches are facing me, and latches go down to snap. Just my preference) Flip each egg foam over and gently stretch them at the corners and you will see every corner has a line of lacerations that you can run a knife through to separate a corner. DO NOT CUT YET. Take both egg foams out and position your gun in the case and now close your case thinking about those 4 corners. My setup, with my case closed, the top left and top right provided enough room where my gun fit perfectly. As per the brief instructions they provided a corner section divider (on the lid) should match the corner section of the (bottom lid) when closed. Simple put, when the case is closed the plastic dividers from one side of the case should kiss the dividers to the other side. Ok you figured out what corners best fit your gun. Now time to cut. I started with the lid foam, top left right setup. I removed the foam, flipped it over and spread out the corner the lacerations with my fingers. I took a sharp knife and drew it between between my fingers while spreading the lacerations to cut the corners out. (Remember only TWO corners need to be cut out on each piece of foam.) Bottom lid foam I repeated the same to match the top. (I re-inserted the foams a couple times to make sure I was cutting the right corners to "kiss" the corresponding corners of the bottom lid.) Now you can refer to the inserted directions how to anchor the plastic sections and install the straps. One thing I noticed is the straps that go through those sections you just cut out, when screwed down, have slack and push the foam up. I simply cut them in two and removed the excess that was pushing the foam up. Hope this helps. Awesome case for the money and I would like to have all my guns in one of these.

If you have lots of AR stuff this is a great deal
I am returning this case because it is far larger than my needs, which I feel badly about. My disappointment is doubled because it is a very well made case and inexpensive. I should have looked at the dimensions more carefully. On the other hand it is a 5 Star case for someone else with greater space needs than my own. It has two locking holes at the handle which is a lot better than 4 locking holes on the handle side like other cases I have. It has 4 easy to use snap fasteners. If traveling on an aircraft and you need room for an AR with scope, ammo, and other stuff this might be the case for you. This also makes for a great safe storage case out of the reach of children. Amazon used to carry cases that were more like >40-38" x 8" x 4", but I can't find them. Smaller cases are better for me because I put them into a large duffle bag. It is only common sense to not advertise the carrying of a fire arm and have it snatched at the airport. A smaller case also makes sense if carrying the shorter carbines or take down rifles. TSA sometimes gets annoyed at the duffle bag when they inspect it, but if people cannot see it ....they don't get strange thoughts. It also avoids some baggage handler getting ideas as well.

Excellent value and happy with purchase!
Awesome value for the money, and it will definitely work for my needs. However, I am a little annoyed that two of the 4 included straps had the Velcro sewn on the wrong side, so they canโt be used correctly. But I only needed two, so itโs not a huge thing....but itโs worth mentioning. I paid $29.99, and I got a lot of case for the money. Seems strong and durable, latches well and has a spot for 2 padlocks. The interior easily accommodates an AR with a 16 inch barrel. I donโt have an 18 inch AR, but with the stock collapsed it would probably fit. In the pictures I uploaded, there is a 10.5 inch pistol strapped into the case. I also installed the corner sections, mostly because the Zerust is built into them. The foam is pre-scored and cutting it with a pocket knife took all of maybe 5 minutes. I currently have 7-30 round magazines and a sling in the corner sections, and I could prob cram some more stuff if I needed to. It certainly adds some versatility, especially considering the foam can be added or removed from the upper and lower sections, as needed. Bottom line, I definitely recommend this case to others, especially in the $30 range. I donโt think youโll find a better overall value. ******************************* I rely heavily on reviews when I make purchases so I put some time into reviewing everything I buy on Amazon for personal or business use so I can help other people considering that item. Fantastic, Inexpensive Case... Great Buy1
Flambeau Outdoors 6500AR AR Tactical Gun Case with ZERUST - 40 x 12 x 4 in. Hard Gun Case with Zerust Magazine Pockets and Straps for Ammunition, Firearm Storage Accessory ________________________________________________________________________ Great Case !! Came across this case while was looking for one, and I purchased this case on sale for around $42 fir a new device, Works perfectly. Just what I needed.... Its sturdy and not really that heavy of a case. There are six points that you can lock this case, I lock it from several of these points to secure it closed. Probably don't need to lock all six though. Partly customizable with its inside, add on compartments, Definitely has some good features.... In The End ... This a great starter case, price, product.. I'm glad I bought it! Recommended!! Enjoy, Have Fun, Be Safe......

Great sturdy case!
I wasn't sure what to expect from this case since it had some mixed reviews. However, when I got it, I was a bit surprised at how sturdy it is. It was not flimsy at all. I was expecting something a bit more flimsy and difficult to put together. I followed the advice of another reviewer and made sure I knew where the compartments would fit best with my AR15. I was even able to setup a place for my handgun. You do have to cut the foam for the compartments you will want to install...you don't have to add them all. I added 2 of them and left the other 2 out. The foam already has "dashes" cut into it so that you can just follow them to cut out the compartments. It also has the cuts for the straps to come through the foam. It was actually very easy. I used a pair of scissors. Aside from that, I don't see any negative aspect to this case as of now. I have only had it for about a week, but I just thought it would be helpful for others to know that the case is actually very good for the price. About the only thing I thought was a negative is that it is a bit on the heavy side. Not extremely heavy, but just a bit heavy. However, I would expect it to be a bit heavy for it to be as sturdy as it feels. I will update this review if anything changes.

Quality AR case. A great buy!
Another terrific Flambeau case. I have several others for bolt action rifles. As for this case, it is what I expected (quality at a fair price). When closed, the foam does an excellent job cradling the firearm. As you can see in the picture, there is plenty of room to accommodate my 38" AR-15. Besides the bipod, one can easily fit several magazines (there are some dividers that came with the case as seen in other reviews that I won't be using). There are six padlock holes to secure the case (one at each corner and one at each side of the handle. I don't think I'd take this on an airplane but definitely for the short/long haul in a car/van/SUV (this does fit in the trunk of a mid-size sedan). It's a well built case that can take some adventure. This is a no brainer purchase if you're looking for a hard case for your AR. IMO, useable space inside is 38.5" x 11.5" when the case is closed. UPDATE - 11 months later: This case has taken a quasi-beating and has held up very well. It's as good as new. Definitely a great value.

Very durable
I bought this for the avid hunter and competitive marksman in the family and he was extremely happy with it. It is very roomy and durable. It fits in the back of his truck very nicely. It closes securely and does not pop back open. The padding inside is perfect for protecting the valuable that you carry inside, should you happen to drop it. He had his fly off the back of a moving four wheeler that was going at a good rate of speed and it did not pop open. The guns and supplies carried inside were very protected and unharmed. This is a high quality case and we certainly have put it to the test to prove that. We would highly recommend it.

Good, cheap case
This is the first firearm case I've ever owned, and I bought it a few months ago for 30 dollars. I feel satisfied at that price, but sometimes to and from the range the contents of the case shift. For 60 dollars, I would expect some more security during transportation. Easily holds a full-size pistol, an AR and relevant optics and magazines, however. Used with a range bag I can take more than what I need to and from the range. It was perfect for what I purchased it for, though, which was a means of transporting my firearms around while I figure out what I want from a higher-quality case I could spend some money on. Note: The three-star rating is because the price has doubled. For 30 dollars, it's a 5-star case and I'm very satisfied with my purchase. Were I to hazard a guess, the price has either reacted to demand or they put the price very low at first to attract higher-star reviews before gradually turning up the heat.

What's not to like
I ordered this Flambeau case (sold by outdoor adventure) after a friend bought one and I saw how much storage capacity was provided. I wanted a case to carry 2 x .22lr scoped bolt action rifles (16" barrel) and they just about fit with some length to spare. The case will also fit 1 x .22lr scoped rifle and a .22 semi auto. For this reason I haven't used the dividers. The case is pretty solid with the lid closed and is a good compromise between overall weight and regigity. Plenty of locking points (6) if thats what you need. IMHO this is a good quality product for a good price that can easily carry an AR style aswell as many more options so what's not to like.

The best bang for the buck rifle case!
Fantastic product quality and overall value, considering the price paid. This was meant to house a rifle-length AR-15 with an RDS, and this is the perfect size. Although I have not separated or compartmentalized the foam inside, it is nice to know that I can do so, especially in the event that I change to a different rifle system; perhaps something with a carbine-length gas system. I highly recommend this case for storage and transport purposes, and to ensure compliance with Canadaโs rules and regulations for restricted firearms.

Fits HW100BP with Night Vision Scope. Excellent.
My HW100BP fitted with my night vision scope fits perfectly. I'd been looking for case and found this. Reasonable price, looks to be well made even though it's made from a type of plastic and I must say a very fast delivery. The foam is slightly pre cut to allow you to fit the compartments provided complete with instructions and straps to secure your rifle. I'm very pleased with this case and will be ordering a second one for my HW110. The only negative comment in my opinion is that the straps could be longer especially if you use them for a Bull Pup rifle. I'm very pleased with the case.

Good quality
Bought this for my GSG-15 and it fits like it was made for it. I have the magazines in the case and a red dot on the gun and still have room for more things, the straps can be moved to different spots inside and are great for holding the gun in place.
