Excellent product and a great value.
Price: This is pretty much as good a deal as you're going to get on protein. ~33 servings in a 1 kg bag for $18, and each serving has 24g of protein. That's 792 grams of protein total, which works out to around $0.02 per gram of protein. This is an outstanding value. Taste: It's pure pea protein, so the taste is pretty bland. A few reviewers have described the taste as being bitter or otherwise unpalatable, but that's not accurate. It's just bland, raw pea protein (which is the point). Remember, most of the pea protein powders you find at your local store are combined with other ingredients such as stevia, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, etc. to make the powder more flavorful and sweet (for double or triple the price, too). If you're used to those products then, if you try this, you may not like the taste since you're expecting the sweetened, chocolaty version of it. In any case, you can always add extra ingredients yourself. There are tons of recipes online; my personal favorite is peanut butter and a banana mixed with some almond milk in a blender. On most days though I just combine it with some almond milk or water in a shake cup and it's perfectly fine. Quality: The powder itself is homogeneous and easy to scoop, and it mixes pretty well with whatever I toss it in. The bag is durable and resealable, and doesn't take up unnecessary space. I haven't experienced any digestion issues, excessive burps/aftertaste, gas, defecation/fecal issues, or anything like that; everything seems to pass through as pea protein should, and there are no negative effects on energy (although one thing to consider is that I always drink protein after workouts/cardio and have a healthy digestive system). The only complaint I have is that the seal on the bag (similar to a Ziploc Pinch & Seal sandwich bag) does not seal well and easily comes apart. This could partly be due to powder blocking the seal, but it seems like the seal itself is undersized. That said a dust-off followed by a good pinch usually keeps it closed well enough for me; others may need to find a suitable container for storage. Other thoughts: -Be aware that there is no scoop in the bag. If you don't have a suitable scoop, there is a conversion chart on the back of the bag which converts tablespoons to grams (6 grams per tablespoon, 30 grams per serving, so 5 tablespoons per serving). -This protein is high in iron, which makes it a great daily supplement for vegans -Shortly after receiving my order I got an e-mail from BulkSupplements.com offering me a free sample of anything in their catalog. You may not be so lucky depending on when you're reading this, but it's something to keep in mind if you're planning on buying more than one of their products.

Great quality; excellent source of vegetarian protein for people with Celiac or on a low-oxalate diet
Let's be honest: pea protein doesn't dissolve well and is not the best-tasting vegetarian protein source out there. Now that we've gotten that out of the way... this pea protein powder is of excellent quality, doesn't taste any worse than the purest pea protein powders out there (I personally don't have a problem with it, even though I don't like peas that much) and comes at a great price (only Trader Joe can do better when it comes to freshness, quality and price). Besides being an excellent source of protein (almost half of your daily value per serving), pea doesn't have any of the problems associated with some other vegetarian proteins like soy and rice, like high oxalate level. That makes it a good choice for people with Celiac, gluten sensitivity or on a low-oxalate diet because of kidney stones, fibromyalgia, vulvodynia, etc. Tip: If you don't like the taste of it, try adding a few drops of vanilla extract and a little bit of honey. I blend it with that, a banana and 16 oz. of milk, and it keeps me full for a very long time.

You might love it or hate it.
I bought this because the price is right and I've been wanting a simple, unflavored veg-based protein. I hate how every protein product out there seems to be sweet, encouraging me to crave sugar and keep my sweet tooth. Not to mention stevia-packed protein powder on top of added sweet fruits makes a protein shake almost unbearable. I've got lactose intolerance so whey proteins, while delicious, often make me puff up like a balloon. Egg protein is often too sweet, has that weird egg taste and makes my lips sticky, and soy or rice proteins are too gritty. I also want to reduce my animal product consumption. I know I love peas anyways so I was hoping pure pea protein would be the savior powder I'm looking for, both with content and the great price. I've just made a bowl of sweet oatmeal and added a scoop of this pea protein, and am eating it as I write these pros and cons down. Pros: -clean vegan eating! Can't beat 1 ingredient and the self satisfied feeling you get from eating your veggies. -good amount of protein: 24g in a 30g serving. About your average protein scoop size and comparable to other protein powders. -almost no bitterness, a tasty mild umami flavor. I'd like to figure out some savory applications for this. -not terribly chalky. It's not melt-in-your-mouth like whet protein, but it is not terrible at all. Cons: -It is a little chalky, so if you can't stand any chalkiness you might want to pass it up. -the umami flavor might overpower sweet things. For example, my oatmeal tastes almost meaty with a hint of sweet, even though it's one of those sugar-loaded Quaker packets. It's a bit strange but I'm fine with it. -oddly static... it keeps flying to plastic surfaces and sticking to things. Not really something I'm used to in foods... -animal feed scent. This smells like animal food. Not bad, but think alfalfa hay or white pepper smell. Not a deal breaker for me, but maybe to some. It certainly doesnt smell and taste like dried ice cream like whey does. -high in sodium. Not an issue for me but may be for some. So there are the pros and cons according to me. I'd probably buy this again because the pros outweigh the cons to me. You may be different!

Good Price/Performance...
I workout 3 to 5 times a week. Recently, in order to lower my cholesterol, I eliminated all meat and dairy from my diet. I needed a good source of protein and decided to do smoothies. I make my smoothies in a blender and they consist of pea protein and some frozen fruit. I first tried Now Sports Pea Protein Vanilla Toffee and found it to be good, but it contained an artificial sweetener and salt. I looked into other options and I am glad that I decided to try Bulk Supplements pea protein (unflavored) instead of the Now Sports pea protein (unflavored). The quality of Bulk Supplements Pea Protein is good. Bulk Supplements is the same or a bit finer in texture than Now Sports (my understanding is all pea proteins have a bit of a gritty texture). Price is great. Bulk Supplements provided more by weight at a lower price than Now Sports. Note that Bulk Supplements has 30 grams with 24 grams of protein which is better than one scoop of Now Sports Vanilla Toffee at 41 grams with 25 grams of protein or unflavored at 33 grams with 24 grams of protein. Interestingly, when comparing by volume, Bulk Supplements had much more volume than what I imagined 100 grams would be, so maybe more servings too. I have had success with using Bulk Supplements pea protein in my smoothies -- no strange or pea flavors when mixed with some frozen fruit. With regards to delivery, all went fine. The package arrived on time and in good condition. Everything is clearly labeled. Overall, I will be purchasing more of Bulk Supplements Pea Protein. Update 11/20/2015: Just received my second order of Pea Protein. Good product. Works well in my smoothies.

Make sure this is not the last meal you ever have
Probably the worst protein powder I have ever had the displeasure to taste. It smells like an amalgamation of cat food, ground up cardboard, and dirt. And yes, I have tried all of those as well. To a being with no tongue nor sense of smell, this product may be of some use and benefit. But I am, thankfully, a fully functional human being. One equipped with a tongue that can discern many a flavor, a nose large enough to inhale vast quantities of air and the particulates floating within into the depths of the alveoli of my lungs. It quite disturbs me that this foul, unpleasant smegma was on my tongue, down my esophagus, and wrecking havoc on the microbiota resting peacefully in my digestive tract. The poor souls did not stand a chance. To think that I ingested this abomination, digested it, appropriated it within my cells. May my body, my fortress, forgive me. For I have sinned. I also regret inhaling these horrid particles the smell of which puts flatulence to shame, into my lungs, undoubtedly predisposing me to reactive airway diseases, and have my alveolar macrophages running hither and tither trying to contain the wrath and destruction caused by this nuclear waste. This is something that I would feed my worst enemies, and even then feel the burden of guilt of the pain that I caused them. Anyway, do not buy.

Simple and clean, perfect for me!
Exercising, eating correctly, and staying lean is a challenge as a woman. Add that I have a dairy restriction so I cannot do whey protein, which makes it nearly impossible to get all of my daily protein while keeping an appropriate calorie count. A while ago I determined that pea protein was the absolute best option in terms of nutrition, but it is soooooo much more expensive than whey protein! I've been using "Vega" and "Garden & Life" proteins until now. They're both great but this "BulkSupplements" alternative is even better!!! I'm switching permanently. The taste is not as nice as the other two because it doesn't have any additives, but it's perfectly fine! It just tastes like plant. I mix it with my fruit in the blender, or drink it by itself with cheap almond milk and I have no problem. It mixes wonderfully too (I just stir with a spoon.) 10/10 I'll buy again. (I actually subscribed. That's how good it is)

Pea is Not for Me
This was my first Pea Protein product I've tried as a replacement for my standard Whey recipes. The product itself appears as a very fine powder, smaller than typical Whey, which I thought would blend even better, but when exposed to moisture, coagulates and fails to properly blend. This is even using a Nutribullet blender... You can spoon it out and run it again, but at the end of the day the taste really put me off my protein smoothie routine. This is no fault of the brand, rather an acquired taste for Pea... let me rephrase. You are getting a no frills, pure product which is dehydrated green peas. I think if you're planning on using this for savory preparations like soup then this is excellent. If you want to take this product in a smoothie or straight up with water, I would think twice.

The Best Plain Pea Protein
Supposing that this protein is what it says it is, it's phenomenal. It blends in water so much better than Now Foods unflavored pea protein, is low calorie, and very cheap. I have no reason to doubt that this product contains all the protein it says it does/has a low heavy metal content, save for my general skepticism for the supplement industry at large. BulkSupplements customer service provided a lab analysis promptly, and labdoor.com rates BulkSupplements' other products highly. On the flip side, lab results can be faked and good reviews can be bought. In summary, it's nearly impossible to tell for sure which supplements are good, but this one has several factors pointing to "does what it says on the tin and won't make me sick." And it doesn't taste that bad plain (it's pea protein and they're all kinda gross tasting) and blends well.
