Minn Kota MKA 16 02 Aluminum Quick Release Bracket Mounts

This item works very well by giving the trolling motor a secure base from which to operate, yet the ability to be moved out of the way when needed. The aspect I do not like is that I have two boats and would like to use this trolling motor on both. I wanted to just buy the piece that mounted to the boat. But that is not possible and since the item, two pieces of metal with some holes drilled in it, cost in the $50 area, I hate to buy the entire unit.

This works perfectly as advertised. I can now remove my trolling motor in a snap. The only think I didn't think about before ordering this is that I would also need a quick disconnect for the power cables. I didn't want to wait to order olnine so I picked one up at a local store. Also make sure that you have enough horizontal room in the area you want to mount it to be able to slide the plate out of the bracket. I have a small aluminum lip on my boat that almost made it such that the bracket would not have worked, but it barely clears so it works great. You need to pull the entire bracket straight back to get it out of the mount.

Very convenient for quick removal of trolling motor

This is a solid, easy to install product. The only problem I had installing the unit was one of the holes did not align and I had to enlarge the hole a little. I have had the Quick Release Bracket installed for a couple of weeks now and have not had any problems with the unit.

THIS QUICK RELEASE BRACKET MOUNT IS BEING USED ON OUR SECOND BOAT. WE SWITCH OUT THE MINN KOTA TROLLING MOTOR TO WHICH EVER BOAT WE ARE TAKING AT THE TIME. Definitely the way to go to remove your expensive trolley or just to use it on another boat. Easy to install and very well made, heavy duty material and a great value!

Anyone who has a Minn Kota trolling motor should purchase this to make their life a bit easier, especially for life in Canada with winter storage or using on multiple boats or just plain storage or resale and you want to keep your motor.
