Fluke88 V/A Automotive Multimeter Combo Kit

Fluke's service is incredible, I was having erratic resistance readings with the silicone test leads and I emailed them and was sent out a new pair no questions asked and free of charge. That right there is worth sticking with the brand. I have always loved Fluke for accuracy and ease of use, this is a great kit for mechanics. It is definitely specific to automotive given the attachments. I have found it very useful already in my short time owning it as a mechanic. This is my second fluke meter and I only have 2 minor complaints. First off it has way more features than my old fluke 77 which is why I switched. However I feel it is not as ergonomic or convenient to grab and use as my 77 was, it is slightly bigger and more square. This is really a trivial complaint, just wanted to note it. The second complaint which is also kind of trivial, my old 77 when checking resistance will ohm out to 0 ohms when touching the test leads together, and when using the exact same test leads with this meter it only goes to 0.2 ohms. Now that's nothing to sneeze over, it just bugs me because I like to be as precise as possible. Anyways as far as price for what you get, hands down unbeatable and incomparable.

Excellent meter for diagnostic work on heavy equipment

Great meter. I have an old fluke 87 that I use regularly but I need a back up. I almost exclusively use it for automotive purposes, so this ideal for me.The meter and accessories are great, and my only complaint is the case. It’s sturdy but a bit cumbersome to carry around and the door that stores the accessories seems like it will easily wear out with time.I opted to change the case and actually purchased a makeup case and it works perfectly.

The Fluke 88 replaces my Fluke 78, which I’ve had since 1994. The Fluke 88 does what the 78 does and more. Hope it lasts just as long. With a Fluke, I am surely positive it will👍🏽

Exactly what you would expect from Fluke. Very high quality meter and accessories. Not sure if the molded plastic case is going to hold up in the long term, but it's fine so far. I use mine for automotive diagnostics as well as building/repairing musical instrument amplifiers and checking testing household wiring and circuits.After purchasing the Fluke I noticed a non-trivial difference in the DC voltage readings between the Fluke and my other meter. So I purchased a reference voltage source in order to know what was correct. The Fluke measured the reference voltage at +5.00 V DC. The reference was calibrated to 5.0000. I assumed that the Fluke was correct, but now I know.

The Fluke 88 is an excellent multimeter and probably the best for you money. I'm very familiar with the Fluke 77 and 8600. The 88 combines the best of both and is a good choice for most all electrical work. It is suitable for the experienced technician and the every-day back-yard DIY person. The leads in the kit cover most that electrician would need. I added the larger aligator clips so I could clamp onto car battery terminals. There are a couple meters that offer more features, such as higher accuracy or a removable display, but unless you actually need these features, you're wasting money.

This is the best of the best. The cadillac. The rolls royce. Everything about this meter says quality. Even the magnet hanger used to suspend the whole meter while working under the hood is great. Some of the sceptical mechanics in the shop tested its' ability to hold the weight of the meter up securely and it passed with flying colors. The temp probe which I use in diagnosing air conditioning issues works flawlessly. It responds quickly and is very accurate. The volt meter is easy to read and accurate when measuring voltage drop. It was expensive as heck, but I know this is one meter that will not let me down and I will probably be able to leave to my grand children.

I purchased this to replace a Fluke 88 that I bought more than 25 years ago. I was hesitant to buy because some reviews and online sources said this was no longer made in USA. They were wrong- This is definitely still a USA-made meter and definitely the best meter on the market and worth the money. I fully expect this meter to last me for the next 25 working years!I use this meter for my business every day so it was tough to be without my old meter when it died. Amazon Prime had the best price for this kit and delivered it in less than 2 days and I put it to use immediately!
