Q-Man Ingenious Toys® model creator - mega off-roader adventure ATV / 466pcs construction set #X3027

A nicely detailed brick set made by the Chinese company Xingbao. This set is based on the real 8x8x8 (8 wheel drive, 8 wheel steer) ATV (All Terrain Vehicle) - as featured on Top Gear and tested by Richard Hammond some years ago.For the size of box, when made up it is rather a small model, being bigger than standard City Lego, but smaller than models in the Model Team & Technic ranges. It is well detailed with opening side doors, rear door and escape hatch and a fairly well detailed cabin with seat & steering wheel for the 'explorer' mini-figure that comes with this set. Instructions are good and similar to lego instructions, the only real difference being size; these instructions are in booklet form of A5 size sturdy paper. I had to use a magnifying glass to look closely at some drawings, to find out exactly where the parts fitted in. Talking of parts, I have a random selection of about 12 parts left over after building the set. The pieces mostly fit together very well, but there are a couple of loose fitting parts; namely the round clear light studs and the front left dark grey mudguard assembly, which occasionally falls off if I touch it (the right mudguard stays in place). I think this set is more of an older teen/Adult set, made more for display than playing with, but children that have experience of building quite complex brick sets should be able to build this set. Delivery was by Amazon. The box is colourful and shows good detail on the back. An unusual set worth purchasing for it's novelty value if nothing else.I've dropped it one star though for the loose fitting bricks & small instructions.
