I have a long term ankle injury and deformity of the talus.Weak anterior tendons, and obviously the knock on effect that has onto nerves, knee, hip et al.Most of the time i am okay, but when i am up and down a ladder of dorsal flexing my ankle it is weak, and sometimes gives way or is nerve pain agony for days after strenuous ankle doris-flexion.This provides that extra support for those days.Practicalities:You won't be able to wear it with orthotics.You will probably need a pair of wider or deeper trainers for this, and they will get trashed after a while.This has enabled me to get around much better, i would recommend for ankle rehabilitation.Its a snug and secure unit, which gives you confidence, in so far it wont let your ankle roll over and crumpling to the ground due to a deep tendon / ligament weakness.

Love the hinge that hollows for some controlled up and down of the foot yet protects against the ankle rolling over to the outside or inside. In the XL size, the Velcro straps could be longer; even better when worn on the left foot, have the Velcro straps loop to the inside versus to the outside of the ankle. Straps aren’t long enough to begin with and when trying to find the slot for the strap on the outside of the ankle, it’s pretty challenging. Would help so much if on the left foot, the slots were on the inside of the ankle brace.

Good support, but the idea of wearing it inside my shoe without wearing a shoe 3X my regular size is absurd.

I had to perform numerous "aftermarket" adaptations in order to use it.

Photos above are the large size which I’m waiting on the second smaller strap to come in which I prefer for a better tighter for . This is my second one . I have both sizes that I switch back and forth from depending on the time of year and thickness of the socks and boots I’m in. I love the fact that you can detach the top section if not needed but also have the ability to put it back on. I’ve played baseball , basketball, and have gone to work with this brace and by far even though it may be hard to find shoes or boots that work well it absolutely out lasts and out performs other brands. You can also go to their website and by new straps smaller or bigger for both the foot and ankle region as well as replacement pads I believe. I like the feel of the larger size but have to use the smaller straps to fit properly but is much more comfortable in my opinion. I’m 6 ft 175 and wear a size 10.5 shoe didn’t measure my ankle but it’s avg to thin

Before I get started let me preface by saying that I have only won it for 2 hours, and will continue to wear it in increments till it is definitely past the "break in period".I rated at a 2 cause the only good thing about it so far is the stability. After i took my pain medication(percocet for reconstructive ankle surgery 9 weeks ago) I wore it for only 2 hours and I had to take it off due to the severe pain it caused me. It needs more padding directly over the ankle bone, and the top of the foot. Also it doesnt like to fit into most of the shoes I have. Out of 6 varying brands and styles of tennis shoes it only fit into one pair. The side of my shoe were so stretched out I felt it had no stability inside of the shoe.Not to mention the cost is insane. I previously purchased the Donjoy perfomance ankle Pod braces for a 1/3 of what the ultra cts cost, and i loved them, but cant wear on my left foot anymore due to the surgery I had cause the edges lay directly over the scares which are very sensitive.Also, yes I watched the fitment video, and yes I ordered the correct size. I know it's the correct size because this is the 2nd one i ordered. The first was the S/M and the straps would barely reach. This one is the L/XL, and it fits much nicer.I will update my review as time goes by. Hopefully it'll get better and wont hurt so badly anymore.

For years I have suffered with ankle arthritis to the point where it was drastically altering my life. Doctors said I have worn through my cartilage to a point that it is now bone on bone which is causing me a lot of pain. The last thing I want to do is have surgery, so I started searching for an ankle brace to help ease my pain. The product description says the brace can reduce impact to the ankle joint which is exactly what I needed. Just to be sure, I messaged the company on their website and an athletic trainer confirmed this was the right ankle brace for me. After about the second day of wearing the brace I started noticing my pain was decreasing and now after a couple of weeks I am almost pain free. I will say you need to wear the brace with a low top shoe as it did not fit well in my tall boot. No need for a boot when you have this much ankle support. Great product.
