Alpine SPE-6090 6x9" 2-way Car Audio Speakers (Pair)

Pros: sound quality, price/value, volume, good upgrade over stock speakers Cons: installation, appearance is lame if you care about that (mine were hidden behind a grill so it didn't matter), mounting hardware was very low quality, annoyingly shrill high notes at loud volumes, not a big deal if your head unit has an equalizer. Starting with the bad, the little clips that came with these speakers were junk. They were made to go on thinner material with bigger screws than these things had/came with. I first tried putting it on and it just angled open at the hinge because the plastic mounting flange on the speaker was too thick for it, and when I finally got the screw to go into it the little tabs that the screws are supposed to thread into were opened too far (this wasn't just because the clip had been opened either) but that was easily fixed by just using some large pliers and clamping them down a bit to tighten them. From there it was kind of a pain to get the screws to thread in since the clips were angled, and in the end the screws didn't lay flat because of that but it worked. I tested it when I only had one of them installed to compare the one remaining factory speaker to it and I was pressed. The new ones were over twice as loud, and sounded much better, louder low tones (not crazy bass though) and much clearer mids and highs. The only problem with the sound that I could find was the really high notes sounded really shrill when you turned the volume up very past two thirds or so. Overall I would say these things are great, if you were putting them in a box they would probably sound incredible for the price. They sound better than the Kickers my brother put in his Vette that were more expensive and had actual boxes.

Direct replacement and fit for my 2013 Dodge Dart. The Dodge Dart door speaker holder is a odd dimension and these Alpines fit right in with no modifications. These speakers really surprised me with the sound quality. They’re nice the priciest but not the cheapest so I really didn’t know what to expect. I am not running a amplifier but because they’re 4 ohm low wattage speakers they matched the output of my stock head unit. They come with long speaker wire, mounting hardware and 1/4 spacers incase needed. 10/10 would buy again.

I use these to swap the oem system on a bmw, work great even with the amp delete, connected directly to the new alpine head unit, sound good and clear.

Put one of these in my 04 Dodge Ram 1500. My truck has the infinity sound system, so the front door speakers do the bass and the back doors and the dash speakers do everything else. I only replaced the driver side door speaker and compared to the passenger side front door speaker(that's original) its not noticeably better, it gets a little buzzy with excessive and or long bass chords like most speakers do. Installation wasn't too bad, it comes with the wire hook ups, just make sure you get your polarity right. I imagine if I didn't have the sound setup like I do in my truck the speaker would really show its full potential. Overall I'm pleased its a good price, the speaker sounds decent and is perfect for a replacement.

Pretty good speaker for the price point, been connected to an amp and going strong for a year with no problems. They perform good all around but nothing amazing. For example they sound worlds better then the 17 year old speakers they replaced, but not better then the stock speakers in my coworkers 2012 mazda. So if you want a simple and cheap speaker upgrade these should fit the bill just nicely. REMINDER-They sound good without an amp, but you wont get the most out of them without one.

Better highs and lows than the factory speaker, and the magnet is about 3x larger than the original. I put these in my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 front doors. I had to use both the included spacers, and the original spacers to get them to fit in the door cutout. I auditioned these speakers at Best Buy first, and liked their sound the best.

I installed these in a 2010 Toyota Corolla S with the optional JBL system after the rear speakers blew out. The JBL speakers that come with this system are crap and are easily blown. The sound quality is improved in the rear with the Alpines but the volume is slightly lower Because they are 4ohm. If you like your music loud you might be disappointed but as replacement speaker they're excellent. Theres two channels for each rear speaker so you must connect the tweeters and woofers separately. Might just be me, seemed a little crackly at first but as I put more minutes on the speakers with music they seemed to get better. Once I applied my equalizer and the sound quality went through the roof! I installed 4 throughout my Dodge Charger and without my sub the car is rattling with the bass.

These are good 6x9 speakers by a reputable brand. Requires the most basic wiring skills. Easy install. Good price.

package came in as promised. complete as advertised. installation is almost as easy if not for the connectors that I should have ordered separately. a little bit of modification and all is working well. sounds very good for my purpose of simple listening, nothing fancy like amps. works better than the OEM.
