use 100% cotton instead
purchasing through amazon was easy. the applicator pads were a disappointment, you might as well used a paper towel. I tried them with wipe on varnish. not good at all. maybe for stain but not for finish

I took a chance on these, not knowing how many pads were in the package. There are 12 in the package. I paid $5.99 plus $5.99 shipping. That's $1.00 per pad. A bit hefty of a price in my opinion. They seem well made. I ended up buying a 55-pack of 10" x 15" rags at Home Depot for $10.97 and am using those for staining wood. Maybe I'll find a use for the pads in the future.

Decent applicator pads
My local Woodcraft store has these for the same price as Amazon ($5.99 for a 12-pack). They worked well for applying Danish oil to cherry. They do wear fairly quickly and lose cotton fibers that stuck to the wood. I had to clean them off after the oil dried before applying shellac. Not a bad product, but I think I'll use rags next time when applying Danish oil.
