Our cats tend to pee over the front of the box, making the pad wet. Will this work?

No.I bought this cause it said it was waterproof. My cat just started to pee over the front of the box but when I put this down and the cat box on top the pee went right through the mat and onto the floor. I now put down a plastic lid and that solved the problem. This mat may be for litter but not for urine. Only used it once since it didn’t work.

Is that difficult to pour out the litter inside the mat?

It is not difficult at all. Be aware, however, that certain litters have a mixture of different sizes of materials in them and some are slightly larger than the holes in the mat and stay on top of the mat. This doesn't present a problem as long as you don't turn the mat over before you want to dump it. It's really a great product.

Has anyone used this with world’s best clumping cat litter for multi cats? is effective with this size and type of litter? thanks

The holes on the mat will catch reasonable sized pieces of kitty litter. I think it would work for what you are using.

My mat came with a small bag of some kind of large granules. What is this?

It could be a desiccant to absorb moisture. That's the most logical explanation.
