DANCO Universal Tub Spout with Diverter, Polished Brass, 1-Pack (89265)

This is the second one I have purchased and love the low cost and how smoothly the tab works. When I took it out of the package, it struck me as very attractive, first of all, but it was light weight. I would like real brass but these were much more affordable. It was VERY easy to install and my 17 year old daughter installed them both, in a very short time. They have worked perfectly, one for about 6 months now and efficiently direct ALL of the water to either the shower or tub, with no dripping. I will purchase again, when needed!

5 minutes to install this tub spout. Channel lock pliers to remove old spout, wire brush the pipe end copper fitting threads, apply new pluming tape, spin-on the new tub spout, and finely inserted rubber handle end of the channel lock pliers into spout to bring the spout into final position and test for leaks. Everything that is needed is in the package except the channel lock pliers and the wire brush. Skill level needed is a 1 out of 10, very easy to replace this tub spout using this kit and at a reasonable price.

The spout came with parts for multiple type of installation. It actually installed fine in my case, but it left a gap of about 1 inch between the wall and spout. I also purchased another similar item but made by Dreyoo. That one also have the same problem as this one. Both actually look very similar, but when I pulled the diverter, this one still have a small amount leaking. Not sure if it is just this one I got or whatever the reason was. In all fairness, the amount of water leaking on the spout was tiny compared to the old one, but since the Dreyoo one did not have any leak, I am returning this one. As far as the spout sticking out away from the wall, I ended up going down to HomeDepot and bought some nipple and coupler, so the whole thing was about an inch shorter than what was provided. Now the spout is sitting flush to the wall.

Plumber installed, worked great! Nice to be able to have the leak stop. Yea!

I always look for a Danko part when doing plumbing repairs as I have always had good luck regarding price and quality of the products I have bought from them. Very happy weith this tub direter spout.

Bought this for the kid's bathroom. Old one wasn't working well anymore. In my situation, i took off the old one and the exisiting mounting hardware worked for this one. Just screwed it off, put some teflon tape on, and screwed this one on. Works fine. It is probably not as durable as higher end brands but i just needed a quick fix and wanted to match the existing gold/brass fixtures in the bathroom - will remodel later. Note, mounting hardware which came with faucet would have worked if i needed it, it appeared to be the same system that was already on the pipe.

The washer in my current tub spout needed replacing. I decided to change the entire spout as the current one is at least 20 yrs old and I wanted to keep the gold look to match the other tub accessories! I will say Amazon is good to look for items in not as popular finishes. I couldn't find a gold spout in any of the local stores. The package came with instructions. Even if you are experienced it doesn't hurt to read it once over. I'm not a handyman nor a man but I was able to follow the instructions and install the new spout...with a little help from You Tube! The most difficult part was removing the old spout. Overall the product was as described and priced right. It's basic which was all I was looking for in addition to the gold finish. Do make sure you measure the length of the copper pipe before you purchase to make sure this one is the correct fit.

I couldn't find an equivalent brass faucet locally, only on Amazon. It was easy to install with clear instructions that covered various pipe connection options. In my case of connecting to a bare 1/2 in. pipe, the supplied rubber compression fitting works more reliably to seal the connection than the washer in the old Moen faucet that I was replacing
