Shower perch? Be sure to check your shower surface before you decide on a suction perch.
I bought this for a shower perch for my B&G macaw. It’s perfect in every way, but I wanted to share our experience so that people can decide if their shower situation will work before they buy this item. This perch has super duper suction cups, but I ended up unable to use it on my tile. I discovered that if the tile has any sort of texture or variations on the surface then the cups don’t stick. I was really surprised that they weren’t sticking to my tile, since they don’t appear to have any sort of texture, but apparently they have enough that they impede the suction. I was bummed that I couldn’t place the perch where I wanted it, but it works perfectly on my glass shower surround. So, I placed the perch on the glass and it’s been over a month later and it’s not come off. It’s sturdy enough for my big bird to shake off the water to his heart’s content, and in the end I think it’s a great product. If you are looking to use this in a shower, then your surface should be a glass smooth one. Either a smooth tub surround or glass or tiles that are as smooth as glass. I hope that bit of advice can help a customer avoid the frustration that I had at first before I figured out what was happening. I can see how this would be a fantastic window perch based upon our shower experience.

BEST THING EVER!
This is the greatest "toy" my Amazon has because she can look outside the window where she can look at the trees and wildlife and still be with her human flock in the kitchen and living room. I love seeing her at eye level so we can socialize face to face, and I love that it is high enough away from my small grandchildren who can't resist poking their fingers through the bars in her cage. I love taking it into the shower where she can perch with confidence and makes shower time a lot more enjoyable for both of us.I dropped it off with her cage when I left for a long weekend because I knew she would immediately feel at home with that perch. She stayed with my son's young family who loved giving her attention but kept her high enough from the baby and young preschooler. I knew that she would be able to safe in a couple of places instead of stuck inside her cage. The perch holds very firmly and would probably hold a large parrot. It's sturdy enough to accommodate a toy or two as well.Just be careful not to yank it off. I was in a hurry once and yanked out one of the suction cups. I discovered I could force it back in if I wet the suction cup first. It had been originally attached by an inside screw which had held very firm and steady. I can't screw it back in, but it still works well, and I am really careful to release the suction cups first. The only cons are that you have to place newspaper underneath to catch droppings, and that there are no cup holders for food and water. I still LOVE it. The pros far outweigh the cons!

Great shower aid for a cockatoo
I have a Elenora Cockatoo, which is also referred to as a Medium Sulfur Crested Cockatoo and as a reference point for other parrot owners, he weighs about 520 grams. So far this shower perch has been great. The perch has a nice rough texture, which allows the bird to get a good grip. I’d previously owned a perch with just 2 suction cups, which came loose while the bird was taking a shower the second time we used it, needless to say he didn’t trust getting on it much after that. My only concern with this perch is how close the suction cups are to the perch, which are within reach of his beak, which would allow the bird to take a chunk out of one of the suction cups, which he did with the previous perch rather quickly, I guess only time will tell.I was also a little worried about how long the suction cups would grip the glass door of the shower, so I moistened the suction cups and the shower doors glass, then applied the perch to the door. After a week it was still stuck tight and solid as a rock. So far I’d recommend this product. FYI, the perch also pivots out of the way, so if your bird showers often, it can be put in place and pivoted out of the way when not being used, if you have the little extra room.

Perfect products for midsize birds
This product is absolutely not for large birds. It’s way too small for macaw. Macaws usually need at least an inch around. I would just consider that a mistake in advertising. However, this product is ideal for windows or shower perch for Amazons goffin cockatoos African grays and other midsize species. The suction power is incredible. The product is very sturdy, and extremely well-made. I really would love to buy a second one if the designer decides to make an extra large version for macaws and cockatoos

In my shower....STAYS in PLACE.....Holds My Blue-Front Amazon Like its Nothing!!!! GREAT Product.
I purchased the Large, 3 suction Cup Parrot Perch. My Biggest fear was the suction cups giving way while my Blue-Front Amazon Parrot was enjoying a shower with me. My FEARS have been CALMED.It has been in place in the same spot for over 3 weeks....on 12" Tiles..... Shower is used Daily......Bird has used the perch about 7 times in that 3 weeks....... and still just as solid and sturdy as if I just put it up. Actually, probable the best suctions cups I have witnessed in action. The Perch swings 180 degrees allow for ease of positioning. Excellent Product that I am Very Pleased With. Worth the Cash.

My Eclectus parrot loves this sturdy perch. I like the way it swings out ...
My Eclectus parrot loves this sturdy perch. I like the way it swings out of the way when I'm alone in the shower. The swing function was also very useful as a way of introducing her to showering as I could it out so, at first, only her tail was getting wet and then graduall over a week or two, began to swing the arm further and further under the shower (I have a large 12"x12" rainshower that comes vertically down) until she was so at ease that she now almost instantly falls asleep when she's in the shower. She also not only tolerates but *loves* it when I take the handshower (which has very strong jets of water coming out of it compared to the ceiling rainshower head) and direct it at different parts of her body. She now makes excruciatingly loud squawks if she thinks I'm going to have a shower without her! This was after being terrified of even the sound of the shower water when she first came into the bathroom. As a result of now almost daily showers with me, her feathers look incredibly rich and plush and she no longer smells. A great buy, this perch!
