Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2500 High-Power 2.1 PC Speaker System (CA-SP211NA)

At first, I was surprised to find a Corsair speaker system. Before I found this listing on Amazon, I didn't even know Corsair was in the computer speaker business at all. In fact, the SP2500 is their ONLY speaker product on the market. Luckily, Corsair's first and only foray into speakers is largely a success. The SP2500 delivers quality sound across the frequency spectrum. At $200, it's probably pushing the higher end of the price continuum for consumer 2.1 systems, but you get great results for the price.PROS- Excellent sound quality. Midrange is strong and clear. The tweeters do their job nicely at the higher frequencies; I can hear things while gaming (like shell casings falling to the ground) that just get absolutely drowned out when I use my crappy earphones. And of course the bass is just pounding. I mostly listen to rock music, where there's not that much bass involvement, but even here the bass guitar and drums are so much clearer than they were with my older pair of Bose speakers (not a 2.1 system). Where it really makes a difference (for me at least) is during gaming or watching movies. When an explosion goes off, the bass sounds just amazing; if I have the volume turned high enough I can feel my entire desk shaking.- These speakers can get very loud with little to no distortion. I haven't even fired these up at 100% volume yet since I'd probably get kicked out of my apartment if I did. The highest I've dared go was 60-70%, and I could really feel the bass from anywhere in the room with everything staying crystal clear.- Convenient LCD desktop controller. You can change a bunch of settings with the control panel: volume, input source, and equalization/program. There are some minor UI settings that you can tweak, including how long the LCD screen stays on and the color scheme. The most important probably is language, and there is a nice selection to choose from: English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese (Simplified), and Japanese.- The ability to independently adjust the subwoofer volume through the desktop controller. This is especially useful if you don't want to disturb your roommates/neighbors/whoever. If noise pollution isn't a concern, I suggest turning the subwoofer volume to 100% (or close) to get the mostout of it. Even when it is at 100%, you can still adjust the overall volume (including that of the subwoofer) with the normal volume control, and the subwoofer will get quieter or louder with the rest of the sounds coming from the satellites. So perhaps a better term for the subwoofer volume might be "subwoofer involvement".- Built-in 3.5mm audio jack on the desktop controller for headphones. Certainly more convenient than if you were to have to reach all the way to the subwoofer or your computer tower to plug/unplug a pair of headphones.- Long cables. My last pair of speakers came with cables that were barely long enough to reach my tower. I keep my tower a bit farther away from my desk than most people probably do (it's big and the positioning is mainly for ventilation purposes - plus I hate it when towers vent hot air into the space where my legs happen to be). So having cables that were long enough to comfortably reach between my tower and subwoofer, and from the subwoofer to my desk where my satellites are was very appreciated.- Capable of handling up to three different input sources: one using a 3.5mm stereo RCA cable (included), and two (one to the subwoofer, one to the desktop controller) using 3.5mm stereo audio cables (not included). You can easily switch between different input sources using the desktop controller.CONS- The subwoofer is quite large. This may or may not be a con depending on how much space you have. Still, I would make sure you can clear enough space around your desk to accommodate it before buying.- The headphone connection on the desktop controller seems to suffer some voltage attenuation. If you plug your headphones into the controller and then plug them directly into your computer's audio out jack and compare the sounds you will notice that the volume is noticeably quieter when plugged into the controller. This is exacerbated when using headphones with higher impedance. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the audio signal is being run through a SVGA connection. Luckily, I don't notice any signal degradation (warped frequency response, muffled or "flat" sounds, etc.); if you turn up the volume setting so that sounds are equally loud in both cases, they sound identical. It's more just an inconvenience that you have to turn the volume up and down whenever you use headphones.- The speakers don't come with surround sound virtualization software, which although not that big of a deal, is just a little unexpected considering these are marketed to be gaming speakers from a company that focuses on making gaming products. While virtual surround arguably does work better with headphones than speakers in most cases, I got a third-party virtualization software package (that was developed for headphones, not speakers) and with proper calibration the SP2500 can generate quite good virtual surround sound with said software package.- The aesthetics of the satellites leaves something to be desired. While they aren't ugly by any means, they don't look particularly stylish either.- GIANT packaging. Part of this is due to the large subwoofer, but still. I can almost fit my (huge) tower into the box that the speakers came in. The thing will definitely be taking up quite a bit of garage/closet space if you choose to keep it around (which I recommend in case you ever need to store/move your speakers in the future).NOTES- The SP2500 uses standard 3.5mm stereo RCA cables (or alternatively a standard 3.5mm stereo audio cable). There is no separate cable for the subwoofer, which is pretty typical for 2.1 computer speakers.- The desktop controller comes with a variety of equalizer and program settings for different scenarios. I've personally never found much use for switching between different equalization settings (I usually just set one curve through my sound card software to compensate for speaker and room acoustic idiosyncrasies and stick with it for everything), but they may be of interest to some people.BOTTOM LINEThese are an impressive set of speakers for music and gaming. While hardcore audiophiles may not necessarily be impressed, everyone else that still cares about getting quality sound and has the money to spend should seriously consider purchasing the SP2500.

Let me first start off by stating that I consider myself to have a good ear for audio. I'm an avid gamer and and listener of music who can also appreciate fine audio/video in all subjects. I purchased this "Gaming" speaker setup back in 2011. It's still going strong, although I have since traded it to my fiance who games across the hall with it for a pair of Sennheiser PC 350 SE's as I needed a headset for competitive gaming purposes. (No one enjoys hearing someone's mechanical keys through a desk mic, or the reverb. through their speakers.) So I will speak about my experience with the product while it was in my possession.Quality:he set feels really solid, and has survived a number of bumps and tipovers with no damage to be seen or heard, despite my best efforts and love for technology. Their plastic shell is thick and sturdy, they really just feel good and reassuring.Appearance:Although this is a more perspective attribute, I feel they are quite attractive and follow the all black matte finish trend, with their Corsair badges.Ease of use:The way this system works is rather simple and intuitive. Your source(computer) will feed into the Sub which has a built in amp, and then from there go to your 2 satellites, and your wired remote will also feed into the Sub. I found the cable lengths to be more than adequate for the average desk size. The remote allows you to alternatively adjust the master volume, as well as selectively adjust the bass level by itself. It will also allow you to turn the system on or off to conserve power. It controls volume via the spinning wheel which is enjoyable to use. It shows your changes on its own little screen clearly and easy to read.The two satellites each have their own included rubber footing that they can rest their front ends upon. This allows the satellites to aim themselves upward a little to direct the sound at the user if they should be higher, while at the same time dampening some of the vibration that may occur.Sound:Now on to the most important feature when you are considering a purchase of any audio equipment. Afterall it's just a block of wood and plastic if it doesn't produce sound. Previously I used to listen day and night to a pair of Audio Technica ATH-900s which sounded beautiful for 8 years until a plastic connector holding the ear cup to the headband broke for a 5th time relenting the shortcomings of superglue and duct tape! No one with a truly good pair of headphones is going to find a speaker setup sounding as good without spending A LOT. It's just physics. That said, I found this speaker setup to sound really good. I will say that it is a little bassy, as you would expect, the vast majority of people do love bass and I am no exception. But what's nice is that the set does not sacrifice sound stage in favor of bass and does not leave you with a "muddy" sound that you might otherwise find with cheaper speakers that try to cover their shortcomings by increasing bass. I listened to music, movies, Blizzard Cinematics, and with the volume turned up I remember on more than one occasion getting goose bumps. The set can get loud and fill a decent sized room. But their purpose is as a PC set and you're generally going to be right in front of them.Summary:For the price of this set, it's hard to beat without a lot of DIY. I found it to be an excellent buy that is still providing rewards to this day. The sound is great, the bass is strong, and product is durable and looks good in most settings. On top of all that, Corsair is an excellent company with many good products, a strong reputation, and good customer service. (Although I have never used it personally.)-James

Note* Look for my last Up-Date below on April 17, 2013.I was replacing an older Model Logitech Z5300.The Audio Controller went bad so could not adjust any of the audio functions.It had worked for years and I thought I would try another Brand this time.Read reviews for days on end and decided to give the Corsair SP2500 a try !!!Below is how it went this afternoon with the Corsair SP2500.Well this sure looked like an awesome computer audio system.I was fired-up seeing it an UN-Packing it carefully and installing it piece by piece.Seriously it all looks great and was so looking forward to hearing it.Little small issue though.It has No-Audio at all !!!As in No-Sound comes from the speakers period.I checked and have re-checked my re-checks and all the cables are right where they are suppose to be.I have even done multiple re-boots with my computer.I just now held the left speaker up to my ear and turned the Corsair On & Off and do hear a Click.So there is power to the system but No-Audio.Now that I am taking the time to type this review and 1st impressions of this Corsair SP2500.I looked on the Corsair (Quick Start Guide) and got the 1-800-205-7657 Tech Support Number.Now your thinking like me that I should be all set, right?Little snag in that and here is why in case any other New Buyers try it.What you get is to sit there and listen to, ( Your phone call is very important to us and the next available Tech will be right with you).Heck I can relate to the Tech/Techs being busy and don't mind waiting in line for the next one.But, you don't get a Tech, what you do get after sitting there listening to all the messages is something like this.(Leave us a Message and we will return your call as soon as humanly possible)Oh and for you might be thinking this.Just call that 1-800 number again and see if a Tech will answer.I did try that four (4) times back to back and the exact same thing took place every time.So I did leave them a lengthy message that went like this.{I suggest you tell your customers what days you are actually open and a tech is available.Also it would be really helpful to us the customers if you give us the Time Zone and Hours the Tech is available to answer the phone}.I thought to myself since they also want you to go On-Line for their (Assistance).Okay give that a try as the Tech Line sure did not go anywhere.After going through the Registering etc.I did leave the On-Line tech help a message.Guess what ???We received your On-Line Message and will be back to you in {eight (8) Hours}.So here I sit with a brand new whiz-bang Corsair SP2500 Dead as a Door-Nail !!!So New Buyers be "WARNED" of what to possibly expect.I have no idea what is going to be involved to send this back for a Full "Amazon" Refund but I have a feeling that is what might very well take place.If it does I will then do this the easy way that I almost did in the 1st place.Go to Best Buy here locally and get what they have in their Store.If it does not work simply put it back in my car and give it back.Personally I hope Corsair (Customer Service) reads this Review and knows then what their customers go through for HELP.And I am a Big Customer of Amazon and do write reviews and they are Factual.I don't write Negative Reviews just for the heck of it.And I happen to be a 67 year Ole Fellow so I am an Adult.I will Up-Date this review based on what takes place with Corsair on this matter.But right now this is exactly what has taken place, (Blow by Blow).Up-Date:Friday April 12, 2013Just spent the last 76-minutes on the phone with Corsair Tech.No they did not call me back I called and thankfully got a Tech to answer phone.I still have No-Sound from my computer to the Corsair SP2500 system.So I decided to call Best Buy (Geek Squad) and place a service call.I purchased the computer from them and they have supported it.Tech will arrive here on Tuesday before Noon to trouble shoot Audio issue.If he cannot figure out what is going on.I will then just purchase an Audio Speaker System from Best Buy here locally.Then ship the Corsair back to Amazon.I'm hoping I don't have to do that.Next up-date this coming Tuesday April 16, 2013 after The Best Buy (Geek Squad Tech) comes.April 17, 2013Here is the complete rest of the story on the Corsair SP2500:This is what you really want to know is why there was No-Audio.The Best Buy (Geek Squad) Tech did come yesterday morning.He was here for about one (1) hour.Now to get right to the point on No-Audio.Let me mention this.Now I don't have a $210.98 cent Corsair unit.I have to add the service call from the Geek Squad which he gave me a break on, $87.39 cents Total.So I now actually have a Corsair SP2500 at a Real-World-Cost of $298.37 cents.The reason was the Light Green (Audio-Out) that the Corsair SP2500 instructions tell you to use.That will "Not" always work for all customers.If you have like I do an optional (High-End Sound Card) in your computer that Light Green (Audio Out) will {Not-Work}.The Corsair has to be plugged into that (Sound Card) and also go in and reconfigure the settings for that.Once this was done by the Tech the Corsair came on instantly.Speaking of calling Corsair 1-800-205-7657 for Tech Support.As I said above I did do that and was on the phone with them for like 76-minutes.Nothing from that call accomplished anything other than they had no idea why it would not work.All they know to tell you are the basics and after that you can forget it.Now I will add this regarding them, (Corsair Tech Support).He was very friendly and did try to help.He went through all he knew and giving them and him a break maybe that is all we can expect.Now that I have said that I also have my on personal opinion.They should certainly be aware of customers having computers with (Sound Cards) installed.That is not all that unusual I don't think.I say that because my computer is a gaming computer with lots of additional cards installed to run the games.And also a High-End sound card as I said.And yes I told the Corsair Tech it had an optional sound card.I think it is like so many companies now that have New Techs with little Real-World-Experience.Moving on and now let me tell you what I do think of the Corsair SP2500 and the way it sounds.This unit sounds incredible and that friends is an understatement.Seriously it simply just "Rocks".The highs are Crisp.Mids are right on target.And the Bass, (Sub-Woofer) will I assure you get the job done nicely.I have room on my desk to spread out the satellites so the separation works perfect.Under my desk I have the Sub-Woofer in the corner against two walls and believe me it is an Awesome Unit.I will mention this regarding the Sub-Woofer and it's output.It really depends on what you are listening to.But given you are listening to something that has Bass content there will be No-Disappoinment with BASS.Oh you might also be wondering if it will play LOUD enough.Yes it will Crank-Up and put a Smile -:) on your Face immediately if you turn it up especially.The speakers sitting on their stands raises them up to where the sound comes right to you sitting in a normal computer chair.The speakers look very nice as well as the Sub of which you probably want see as in most cases it will be under a desk.I also have tried this out playing one of my Games and it is "Killer" !!!If there is any one wanting to know anything else just post a (Comment) to me and I will reply.I went back and did {Edit} my Star Rating.This unit deserves a (5-Star Rating) and that is what I give it.It is certainly worth the Amazon Price without having to call out the (Geek Squad).Even though I had the Geek Squad come out with that added expense I am still completely satisfied with the Corsair SP2500.Terry It's a real shame that these don't appear to be in production anymore; you have to really dig through Corsair's website to find this product, and it's always listed as out of stock. Corsair took a real risk in designing this, since their name was (and still is, to an extent) associated primarily with other computing accessories, and there are plenty of other players in the field of PC speakers. To date, these are the highest quality computer speakers I've ever owned. Three years later and they still sound just as good as the day I bought them. Again, it's a shame that they're out of production, and it looks like we might not see any other audio offerings of this nature from Corsair; despite the high reviews here, they must not have sold well enough to cover the R&D and production costs.It's important to qualify that these are computer speakers. While they may sound fantastic for what they are, they're not going to match the fidelity and frequency response of high end production monitors like Rokits or a dedicated 5.1 or 7.1 setup- but they're not really trying to. This system is designed for media consumption, not production; this becomes pretty obvious when you see the various presets in the media controller for "Action", "FPS", etc.With that said, I honestly believe that these are the best value for your money in this product category. When I bought these, they sold for $249.99, and I initially balked at the price. After some consideration, and plenty of research, I came to the conclusion that I wasn't going to get anything much better without substantially increasing the cost. Sure, $250 will get you a pair of pretty nice monitors, but if you're serious about music or cinema, you're still going to want a subwoofer; and unless all of your components are powered, you're going to need a receiver and amp, and at that point, you might as well go full in on a surround sound system.The monitors are crisp and faithfully reproduce anything I put through them, and can get extremely loud without clipping. I guarantee your ears will give in long before the speakers do. The same goes for the subwoofer - it's more powerful than you think. I have a 300W RMS 12" Polk in my living room, and this one comes pretty damn close. I'm still impressed with how much quality they managed to pack in this sub for how small it is. The bass is clean even when you really crank the volume, and will only start to give up once you hit very low frequencies with the volume extremely loud (Eprom's "Center of the Sun" and Submotion Orchestra's "Hymn for Him" were two tracks that I managed to clip it with, to give you an idea of how low you can go).The build quality on these are great. The satellite speakers have real metal mesh grills to protect the cones, and come with rubber feet to help isolate vibration. They also come with little plastic pieces that slip under the front-bottom of the speakers for better direction - these little plastic pieces also have rubber on the bottom to prevent slipping. I love this kind of attention to detail. The subwoofer is similarly constructed of high material wood, with solid rubber feet to help isolate and dissipate vibrations through the housing. After 3 years of use, the wood still hasn't chipped, and looks essentially as good as the day I received it.The system is very easy to set up. Each satellite speaker has its own colored wire, which each connect to a correspondingly colored input on the back of the subwoofer. The subwoofer has a single 3.5mm output cable which connects to your sound card. That's right - all the channels are downmixed into a single output; no attenuation necessary! By itself, this is one of the selling points to me of a set of computer speakers. Attenuating independent channels is a major pain in the ass for me with my home theater setup, and it's refreshing to be able to just increase the volume of each component without having to worry about this.I really can't recommend these enough. If you're able to get your hands on a set now, I'd jump on it. Maybe someday Corsair will bring these back, or, even better, a new and improved version. Either way, I'm holding onto mine for as long as they keep working.

I decided after 8 or so years of owning a set of Altec Lansing ATP3 speakers, that I would replace them as the connector in the sub woofer was becoming loose and the audio would cut out. After carefully doing my research, I landed on the Corsair SP2500 speakers. From various website reviews and user reviews, I was expecting an excellent sound quality and a great set of speakers. What I ended up getting was something entirely different, which leads me to believe they were defective.For starters:1. The sub woofer would not really kick in on any type of audio unless it was dialed up to max. Once it did kick in, it would sound a bit distorted and lacked the umphf that my previous ATP3 speakers had. Many users expressed that the sub would be able to "shake the house," I did not have this experience at all, even after playing a bit with the equalizer and attempting to boost the low end, it still sounded quite subdued when compared to my previous set of speakers.2. Nearly every single piece of audio I played through it, I would have to adjust the EQ or various other settings to make it sound not distorted. This happened especially on movies and TV shows. Certain sounds tended to be amplified more than others, which made the whole experience seem very muddled. Often times I would end up being frustrated and switch to my headset, which defeats the purpose of getting a new set of speakers. This did not happen on the ATP3 set.The experience I had seemed to parallel the experience user "A" had back in October.Some positive aspects to this set of speakers:1. Build quality seemed pretty sturdy and well done. They looked like a quality set of speakers, it's a shame they didn't sound as good as they looked.2. Control pad is a very useful item and I wish other speakers would come with something similar.3. Included several input and output methods.Overall, I wish I had received a better experience, akin to the majority of others who seemed to have had a very positive experience with these speakers.

I have had these speakers for about a year now and I still love them, The build quality is outstanding, and the bass......omg the bass. I get so many complements about how the bass performs, everyone also loves the remote that it comes with, I think that it was a great addition to my setup for the price. The reason that I gave it 4 stars was because the sound quality was not the greatest, sure it has good bass, but keep in mind that these are not studio monitors so your not going to get mind blowing sound quality. The last gripe that I have with these speakers is that the bass is so powerful that it shakes my table, and moves the courser on my mouse around, while that's not a big problem it's just something to note. One more thing the material on the bass can actually peel off, at first look it seems that it's made out of a plastic similar to the ps4, but its actually just material covered over wood.Overall BUY THIS I was deciphering to get these or the creative Gigaworks 2.1 multimedia system, but I am glad that I went with these.UPDATE: 12/2016So I've had these for about 3 years and I still use them in my main setup. The materials on the system itself has held up extremely well, and has looked the same for the duration I've had it. The bass is still running strong, and I usually have it pretty high up most of the time, so I thought I'd mention that because of some of the issues people are having with the bass blowing out after a few months. This really is a solid system and you can't go wrong with it, especially for the price.At this point I really don't see me upgraded to a different system any time soon, especially because there just isn't that much to offer out there that isn't already 5-6 years old. For 230 bucks I would go as far as saying these are a steal, you are really getting a lot for your money here, and the fact that I've used them for the last 3 years shows that they can hold up over time.

I'm going to preface review by saying that, while I'm not an audiophile, I have substantially more knowledge than the average consumer about audio equipment. Buying new headphones and speakers is kind of my hobby.I've now had my SP2500 for approximately a week, giving me ample time to test them out with a variety of music genres and inputs. I listen to classical music, hip hop, electronic, and some alternative rock. It handles all these with amazing detail and clarity. The bass is deep and powerful, but not overbearing in the slightest, thanks to each individual speaker getting its own amplifier. The SP2500 also retains clarity at 100% volume, which is extraordinarily loud (I like my music loud overall, and it even had me flinching). I generally like to keep it around 70% to 80% when I want to play loud, and it's enough to fill my house without hurting my ears.This system comes with an 8" side-firing subwoofer, and the thing is absolutely gigantic. Looking at pictures of it online will not prepare you. It's not a problem for me, but if you are severely constrained with your space, it's definitely something to consider. It also has two satellites, each with a 3" driver to carry the midrange and a 1" tweeter to sustain the highs. A fantastic thing about these speakers is that every frequency stays where it should be at any volume level. For example, on many computer speakers/iPod docks, the bass becomes disproportionately lower as the volume goes down overall. Not with these.I don't play PC games, but I do play my 360. Hooking these up and playing Halo Reach was amazing. When a grenade went off near me, I didn't just hear it, I felt it. And even though this is a 2.1 system, direction was still easy to pinpoint.While I can't speak highly enough about these speakers, if I had to pick out a flaw, it would be that songs that have a heavy midrange (like rock) sound slightly muffled. But really, that's only in comparison to the sky-scraping standards of the rest of this system; rock sounds better on this than any other computer speakers or iPod dock I've heard, so it's still the best you can get.When it comes to my hip hop, I'm a bit of a bass-head. While I don't want it to overpower the mids and highs, I want to feel it. Let me tell you from experience, this is the best bass you can get on any computer system or iPod dock at ANY price point. It's deep and low and incredibly multi-faceted. And when I blast Tupac's "Changes" at 80%, I can feel the bass vibrating my clothes while the piano notes stay crisp. It's amazing.I was able to compare it to other bass-oriented systems, too; a friend lives in the back of my house, and he's been going through different iPod docks trying to find the right one. He had the Altec Lansing inMotion MIX iPod dock, and my system handily defeated it in all areas. After having to return the MIX three times to Amazon because of defects, he finally ordered the Beats by Dre dock. I was a little worried... was this where he would finally find the bass to overpower mine? The answer? Absolutely not. The bass doesn't hit as hard and sounds muddy when compared to the SP2500 (though bass is still good compared to other docks... it's just no contest in comparison to the SP2500), and the mids and highs were really compromised on his system. The Beats dock didn't even get as loud as the SP2500, which surprised me a little.I'm rambling now, so I'll try to end this quickly. Simply put, this system is the best audio purchase I have ever made. It is great for all types of music and video games at any audio level. And if you love bass, this can definitely provide that; it easily bests systems that are two or three times the price of this that are specifically built for that purpose! Words really can't describe how much I love these.If you're at all on the fence, order these (whether they're for your TV, computer, or even MP3 player) and try them out. Don't take my word for it. These are the best value in any speaker system at any price. Do it. You know you want to.

I must say that this Stereo delivers rocking clear audiophile grade Quality. I also wanted to say ; something to consider is : Good Quality oxygen- free rca connector cable's ; and a good audio card .I have a sound blaster Z (which in my thoughts, is in the same clarity range ,as the expensive Asus cards /when the z has the better grade gold caps) Also when I upgraded to a Quality psu ,I got even better results . funny thing ; I was considering getting another set of computer speakers , as an alternate quality sound ; but i don't know that I really need anything more. I think these corsairs finally broke in . the sound is impressive .you might want to consider using VLC player . I think it works well . I am impressed very often with the depth of the Quality, that these speakers deliver. One Important Point : When I got the better Psu ; I had to adjust my Corsair EQ , to "POP";and VLC was adjusted to : 1k / -0.3 ; -0.4 on the adjustment's from 3k to 16k ;60hz varies with how much bass you want . I set 170 hz. at about 0.5 , and 310 at -0.1 , and 600hz at 0 (flat) . Just wanted to state this stuff also , because after I got a good psu ; I was kind of disgruntled that the sound changed ; but very pleased when I found good settings that brought out the best sounds that I have gotten out of them. Most of the time, when I make adjustments while listening to music ; I usually only adjust the settings at : 60hz. and 170 hz.(on VLC player), I found that it sounds well , to leave the 3k-16k settings alone (usually),after set ; but that's just a general Idea .I've experimented with changing; and tweaking the sound ;but one things for sure, this system sounds nice.I was a musician (and I have loved good music ,since I was a child). I have read reviews of various things on line that helped me ;so hopefully I can help others, that buy this speaker set .Proper EQ settings are Key . And one last tidbit : sometimes if still a little too bright; I will take 1K to: -0.4 . Different variables can affect how yours will sound .I bought some Rca cables that are Gold Plated , and Oxygen-free ; and was a single peice (One pin coming out of the sound card ,that merged to two Rca connectors) I bought it off E-bay ; and it came from England I believe ; and it didn't break the bank .I personally like the dual RCA inputs; for connecting to the system. When the speakers break in,better sound comes out. Also , I've found that different overclocking settings can affect the sound also ; so , you may want to take that into consideration also .Please excuse me ,If I'm rambling too much about these speakers ; These things Rock ; for Good PC audio: Corsair SP2500 ; VLC Media player ; a good Quality power supply ;and good Quality connectors . Please do yourself an audio favor;seriously consider Corsair SP2500 !! my latest vlc settings are different than i put above ; sorry for any confusion;or looking silly ;with E.Q.assumptions .VLC is a good player ; experiment and see what works for you .These speakers are very impressive with a good soundstage; and they get better when they break in. I recently changed to a different cpu(phenom II 840t ) and lo ,and behold ; It sounds even better , once I found the sweet spot on moderate overclocking . I also put some bubble wrap kind of envelope material ,under the front part of the speakers ( under the stands ) and it helped the desk acoustics for the speakers, considering , I'm using a glass top desk . wanted to pass this on to anyone that might benefit from it . I think it's pretty cool to have a community of Corsair Audio enthusiasts that have left reviews .Good Luck , Audiophiles , and general music lovers , Gamers ,and everyone else.

Sounds amazing, I was a little skeptical at first going down from a 5.1 system (Z5500's) to these SP2500's but man, they sound amazing and pack quite a huge punch. Even at about 35% my husband still tells me they're too loud; love it! Highly recommended, if you're on the fence... Just go for it, they're worth it!

These speakers are a delight. They capture a nice range of sound that are great for whatever you want to put on. The subwoofer was a tad less boomy then I'd hoped but with the controller you can turn it to a nice level.

メインスピーカーが少々小さ目だったのが少し気になっていましたがサブウーファーとの組み合わせで大迫力でした。pc用なのでレイアウトを考えると丁度いいのかも？　またコントローラーも直観的に使えるところも気に入ってます。この価格でこの迫力はお買得ではとお勧めします。　コントローラーに電源スウィッチが有るのも便利です。

I was ready to replace my old Logitech 2.1 system with a higher quality better sounding setup so I started the search and it came down to the Corsair 2.1 SP2500 which seemed to get excellent reviews from pretty much every site. It arrived promptly, however the power cord was missing (I've subsequently had to purchase one for $15 which I figured would be easier than waiting for Amazon to take care of it). The sound is good - nice crisp highs and balanced mid and bass as long as volume isn't too high. The remote controller is handy and attractive. I am not a gamer so can't judge the system for this use, but am happy with sounds of jazz, folk, rock and classical music at moderate volume levels, which is more than enough for my needs. I also own a Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system and would suggest it is a more powerful, better sounding system for high volume, bass heavy music, but for accuracy and crispness, the Corsair is excellent. I was happy to find the system for $200 also, below MSRP.
