Are these CE certified? what frequency are they using?

The frequency used is the license free PMR 446 band (so 446Mhz). The radio seems to support 8 of the 16 possible channels. Note the batteries needed are 4x AAA per radio… (not AA as stated elsewhere)

Do these have secure channels so strangers can’t talk to kids?

Couldn’t say for sure but we’ve never had ‘interference’ when the girls are using them. Range is obviously a factor, they are no more than 50m from us on our walks and we hear them perfectly well. Someone would need to be reasonably close to try and tune into the radio frequency. There are also several channels so someone would need to be very persistent! Buy them!

Are batteries secure with a screw? Cannot see a picture of the back of them.

No. The battery cover secures with a couple of tabs like a telly remote. It is pretty secure with a decent click as it slides into place.

How do you use the hands free mode on these?

Honestly.. I have no idea at the moment. We literally tried them quickly with a bit of 10 4 over and that’s it. Now wrapped up ready for Xmas.
