Swanson EFA Krill Oil & Curcumin Joint and Heart Support, 60 Softgels

This product contains "the best of both worlds". For those who want to take an excellent high grade source of Omega-3, Krill oil is one of the very best, if not the best. It is usually harvested from Antarctic waters which are cleaner than most. Krill is the name of a small shell fish that is food for whales. Being very low on the food chain it is far purer than and superior to regular fish oil. 500mg, once a day, should do the job which is supposed to help blood flow, lower triglycerides, and serve as a powerful anti-oxidant. Newer brands, especially this one, do not have a fishy smell nor do they yield a fishy burp. Check with your physician as well as checking for possible side effects before taking Krill oil. For the high majority of users, there should be no problem. The Curcumin, which is related to Turmeric (a source for curry powder), is supposed to fight inflammation and possibly help with general soreness. Swanson is one of the premier supplement companies and most reasonably priced. After three months, it may be a good idea to rotate away from Krill oil for a period of time and try a different Omega-3 supplement such as Calamarine Oil (which comes from Squid). Then, rotate back to the Krill oil. This keeps you from building up a possible "tolerance" to a supplement thereby lowering its benefits.
