Beautiful voices, wonderful look and feel, fantastic value
This unit is surprising in the quality and the number of features packed into one affordable package. I bought this keyboard to play avant-garde free-form classical jazz (I need most of the 76 keys), and hoped it would have a good grand piano sound, plus good response and feel to the keys, and found both aspects very good, even if not perfect.ProsGood voices, organs, EPs, strings, guitars, etc.Very good piano sound in both grand and bright piano voices!Big quality LOUD speakersGood weighted (to me) feel to the keys, more like piano vs electronic keyboardVoice dial -- super fun!!USB, pitch bend and hundreds of electronic featuresGood enough solid standGood enough headphonesConsPossibly none, at this price point. I had earlier noted very slight lowered touch response in some keys and occasional slight static when playing some instrument voices in the octave above middle C, the G, A, B keys, but inconsistent, not always the same keys! Some YouTube videos said this might be due to dust, and it seems to have abated. Even when it occurred during the first two weeks, I was okay with it being hardly noticeable. The five stars are in context of the price (as opposed to a Kurzweil or Korg), but for this price, and for how good this unit is compared to similarly-priced Yamahas and Casios with similar features, I am thrilled! I do love it, am grateful I found it, and feel privileged when I sit down to it (see some of my other reviews!)I gather from other Amazon and online reviewers, and the product manual that the DGX-230 is identical, except in color to the YPG-235. Go get one![Disclaimer: I used to play a Steinway grand. I play flute, guitar and electronic piano, several days a week, and have for more than twelve years. I play blues, pop, bebop, traditional, free-form avant-garde, and classical. I both read music and play by ear.]

My first keyboard
I'm going to give this five stars. Here's my reasoning behind my star ratingPros:This came in 2 days to my door all packaged in one box.It comes with all you need to get started less the books and skillThe piano is solid and the keys feel very close to a real piano. The speakers are loud enough to drown out background noise like cars driving by your house but not loud enough to fill an arena with soundThe buttons are soft touch and are well placed. Will take time to learn what they all doGood enough to grow into without having to upgrade as soon as I can play a songCons: it's a $200 keyboard. You get what you pay for.The color is just....... Ok .... Kinda cheesy but I plan on giving it a custom camo job LOL!The headphone are sub par considering they are labeled as professional. My overall take on this is, if you want to learn and have something that you will have for a long time without breaking the bank. THIS IS IT!

This is the one you are looking for
The digital piano is great. Quality seems amazing and has every function and setting you could think of. The stand and headphone quality may not be the best but is great to get you going for sure. Kind of wished there was some type of latch to secure the piano to the stand just in case its bumped a little too hard but so far no issues making it come close to tipping over. Piano sound quality is great and can actually get pretty loud. The keys feel nice (not coming from an experienced piano player) and are touch sensitive as to how hard you push as to the loudness of the sound it makes.

Great for beginners, I believe.. :)
First of all, THIS MIGHT ONLY BE MY PERSONAL OPINION !(If you don't want to read a lot, just look at "SOME" of the pros and cons)PROS:-- I received this item on time, and in a perfect condition.- Price is good.- So many options, saved songs and stuff..- Sounds "okay." (I recommend using headphones for better sound quality)CONS:-- Bass, not that "okay."- "Grand Piano," isn't very clear.- Key 'tapping' noise, if you play hard or even moderate sometimes. So, I spent my first 4 months learning piano on this keyboard. And it's great.. it has a lot of options and things to have fun with.. I really loved it at first. However, with each day I improve, I get this dissatisfaction with the quality of the sound; especially the "Grand Piano" (which is the most important for me).Despite the fact that I'm much more into acoustic pianos, this guy is great for beginners. Plus, the sound gets much better when you use headphones, and you don't hear the tapping noise I mentioned earlier. Also, for the price, it's a really good keyboard.Again, this is my own opinion.. so, don't build much on that ;) !

Excellent size keyboard!
I struggled for a while in my search for a keyboard that would have enough keys for me to play whatever kind of music I want, including classical music. Most keyboards just don't have enough keys, but with this one, while it's not a full 88 keys, it still has enough keys that I'm even able to play Chopin without having to leave out notes because of a lack of keys. I love that it's light weight and portable, as well as having a nearly full sized keyboard. It sounds great and it feels good to be able to play classical music on it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for the portability of an electric keyboard while searching for something large enough to play just about anything.

Great Keyboard, family fun allround
I purchased this keyboard awhile ago, and the whole family is in agreement that we absolutely love this thing. We are all at different skill levels but that hasn't stopped us from having fun.It makes pretty much every sound you can think of, it is easy to use and selection of instrument sounds is a breeze. The keys are nicely made and take little effort to make a sound. Well worth your consideration, we certainly have not regretted buying it.
