Just like someone else who left a review, I also have an Aprilaire whole house humidifier and every time the fill valve shut it sent a loud THUNK throughout the whole house. It took me about 10 minutes to install this arrestor and worked like a charm. I now no longer hear any loud THUNK from the humidifier and it is glorious.

Works like a charm. I no longer hear any water hammer when the solenoid valve closes on my furnace humidifier.

Installed easily (fittings matched the plumbing), but it did nothing to help - water hammer was unchanged going from hot water heater to whole house humidifier. I have very high pressure and it may be beyond this arrester’s capacity or it could be a faulty unit. Tough to determine for a homeowner.

Quality brass a copper construction and stopped the ice maker line from hammer behind and inside the fridge. Easy to install directly to the water shut behind the fridge and I put a new Stainless braided line for added security. #1 water leaks causing a large flood and a lot of damage a cracked plastic ice maker line because it has been hammering for years.

Install is super simple, but the fitting leaks. User error? Maybe, but try googling "supply giant" and you won't be able to find any recognizable company to which you can send a customer support message. On the plus side, it did stop the water hammer... if I don't mind the drip.

We recently installed an AprilAire 800 series humidifier (which is awesome btw). Every time the solenoid within the unit activated to fill the internal water tank, the unit introduced a significant noise audible throughout our 4000 Sqft house. The noise was so loud that made peaceful sleeping almost impossible. The water hammer arrestor 100% resolved this problem. It took about five minutes to install underneath the AprilAire 800 using a crescent wrench to install. Everything needed other than the crescent wrench was included in the package. Highly recommend if you have noise generated by the humidifier when the water tank is filled.

Purchased product to reduce humidifier solenoid noise when closing. The noise was very loud partly because the humidifier unit is installed on the furnace causing an echo. I replaced the solenoid valve first, which did not resolve the hammer noise. This arrestor did the trick. While it has only been 2 days since install, the noise has been reduced and at time non-existent. Well worth the money. Time will tell how long it lasts. For the price and ease of install, I do not mind replacing if needed. I did take off 1 star, since the package arrived unsealed with the compression fittings clearly previously installed and used, along with, wear marks on the nuts. I initially processed an Amazon return, but decided to install it as is, since the noise was too loud. I am glad I kept it.

Works as intended to reduce/eliminate water hammer but leaked almost immediately. Wouldnt recommend as you'll just end up buying a higher quality one anyway!

Whenever my water humidifier on the furnace would kick in, it used to give a loud thump noise in the pipes that could be heard till the 2nd floor. Installed this puppy yesterday on the 1/4 inch copper water inlet next to the humidifier, and no more thumping sound ever since!! It was very easy to setup, start to finish took less than 5 minutes. No special tools needed, just a couple of wrenches will do. Make sure to turn off the water supply before working. Appears to be a good quality product, I just hope this thing lasts!

Reduced pipe shock

Purchased to replace an existing arrestor which was failing. Installed easily (fittings matched the plumbing), but it did nothing to help - water hammer was worse than the old unit when the dishwasher ran.

I installed it on my toilet, between the shut of valve and the braided hose going to the tank. Super easy to install and it solved the "knock" when the toilet tank is full and it abruptly shuts off the water.

Installed this inline with a dishwasher (installed properly). It does not stop water hammer, if anything it seems louder... Easy to install, yes. Works, no.
