Superb product and easy to install! Saved me tons of money!
I've had this car for three years and the tailgate handle has been stuck on with duct tape for most of it. I considered getting a new one purchased, painted and fitted from Nissan, but they quoted me over £400 two years ago. I even considered getting a new unofficial tailgate handle and getting it installed from a local body shop, but that would have set me back around £100-£200. I even wasted some money on some set of clips from another seller (four separate small clips) but it was too complicate to install in just the right place to ensure correctly fitting the handle. I almost gave up. Then I found these clips and they are a god-send! They fit exactly where they need to, thanks to the way they're designed. I watched the Youtube video and the instructions were very helpful. However, the first time I tried to bond with acetone that came with the clips and left them clamped for three hours, the clips didn't bond properly and came right off while installing (the instructions didn't state exactly how many hours). Luckily, I had a large bottle of pure acetone that I'd purchased previously (for the other clips that I never installed) and I bonded them again with liberal amounts of acetone (must've used twice the amount that originality came with the clips) and left the clips clamped to bond overnight. It's been a few days and the handle seems solid so far, however I avoid pulling the tailgate with the handle. Instead, I just use the button to unlock it and pull from the bottom of the tailgate. Hopefully it will stay on for a really long time! Now, I just need to get rid of that pesky duct tape residue...

What an emotional roller coaster this was 😆
I'd seen a lot of Qashquais with their boots gaffa-taped up and yesterday i discovered why when I somehow just ripped off this part of my car with my bare hands like the Incredible Hulk. 😆 I bought this part and then bought some clamps from B&M. Unfortunately someone had nicked half the pack of clamps so I only had 4 (although B&M very kindly gave me 30% off. I know, don't ask. They started at 20% and it took some negotiation but it was the only pack they had left and i was desperate ), oh, and I also used some clothes pegs 😆 This isn't for the faint hearted. Using pliers to snap off parts of your already broken car is scary. Pulling the interior trim off your boot is even scarier - will it go back on!? And I also somehow wacked myself in the face 😆. You'll need patience, the belief that it will all turn out alright in the end, a fair bit of time and a lot of clamps. You will be rewarded with the most amazing feeling of success, achievement and a pride a haven't felt since I completed a half marathon or gave birth. Be brave, go forth and purchase this genius piece of plastic!!! 😁😁😁

If your thinking twice about this - BUY IT NOW and SAVE MONEY 👍
So I haven't really wrote many reviews but this was definitely needed. My tailgate had been hanging on for dear life for a couple of months. This is such a common fault on these cars and so glad these products are made to fix it. Now I am a female very hands on DIY and car fanatic. So for me it seemed simple to do but a lengthy process which is understandable to do a good job. For the average person they may give up however, the end result is worth it. The one confusion I had was how to remove the boot lid first and not many videos online which showed my boot type (some have screws in different places depending on options on car i.e. rear camera and year of vehicle). But persisted on and found that kind of just need to yank the boot lid off. I watched the video and continued with the process of removing tailgate, cleaning and attaching the new clips. They slotted perfectly into the right spots as have cut out designed for where they should go. Then all attached back together (would advise to take photos of where the wires were so easier for you to remember where to put back). The tailgate is stronger than ever and would never have known it has been refixed. Definitely try these clips before getting a new tailgate and spending £300-£400 as quoted by dealers. You can get a second hand one and then get it sprayed etc for cheaper. But still no where near as cheap as this and this works! So no reason to do anything else. Just be careful when using the acetone and ensure not to get on paintwork which is viable on car - it will ruin it (thankfully I knew this beforehand). If you are unsure about this... Get it! You will not be disappointed but remember have patience when doing it ☺️👍

Expensive, need some DIY abilities, but end result is good
I was not too happy when the tailgate of my ageing Qashqai (2007) fell off. just like that. PLastic beacme brittle and whoever design this handle at Nissan did not care much about durability. I was even unhappier to find out about the cost of spare parts or cost of a repair in a garage (an arm, a leg and a signature in blood at the bottom of a funny piece of parchment). This plastic repair kit is well designed: dimensions of the plastic molding are very precise. Essentially, it replaces the ridiculously poor plastic fixings from the original part and bonds them onto your existing handle – so no coulor matching. Removing the part involves removing the boot liner plastic cover. Follow the video instructions, go easy, that's not difficult. When the tailgate handle is free, I'd recommend taking a few pics of the various light bulbs and connectors (just so you reconnect them easilly). I have a Tekna model, with some extra electronics embedded in the handle, which are not shown on the video. Nothing you can't remedy if you have a minimal toolbox (pliers, stanley knife, sanding paper). I was initially doubtfull about the use of acetone as a bonding agent (as you are in effect glueing new fixings onto your existing tailgate handle). Well, it works a treat. I used clamps to make sure the bonding was strong and left it a few hours (so a good idea to dismantle the handle in the evening, process the bonding, let cure overnight and reinstall in the morning). You will need to file existing parts off the existing handle and make the surfaces to bond as plane as possible. Get an old paintbrush to apply the acetone. Good thing with the kit is that the parts fit very precisely onto the handle, if you follow the video, positionning is quite obvious. Once finished, the end result is a handle that feels solid - at least as solid as the factory-installed one. Only gripe is the cost for a minimal amount of plastic and a small bottle of acetone. It hurts.

Very good well engineered product.
Great product which does the job very well. Significantly cheaper than paying for a garage to fix this issue. Instructions were good for replacing the existing broken plastic fittings, removing electrics and refitting. Slight criticism in that removal of the interior trim panel is not in video, including removal of one cross head screw.

COMPLETE NOVICE SAFE KIT!!!!
Super plastic welding! Once I had stripped the inner tailgate off and removed the old flappy boot handle, this is a seamless fitting kit and I am a COMPLETE NOVICE! UK 2013 J11 diesel. For any other novice DO NOT GET ACETONE on your paintwork. And Be sure to clear all parts of remaining plastic old broken clips! I was well aware of the damage Acetone can do so al good but it’s just a ‘heads up’ :) MY BOOT IS NOW SOLID and I’m certain it’s better than it ever has been! £459.99 Nissan wanted! Pfft! THANK YOU

No middle clips!
Product in itself is superb. The problem is it does not account for all 6 fixing points (only 4) and without this it exposes you to an even higher risk of breakage than before. Fix that issue and you have a 5 star Product due to not having to get a respray or colour match. Everything on this kit works except for the amount of fixing points it rectifies. Although if you only need to fix the outer 2 on each side you are golden!

Ottimo prodotto. Consiglio acquisto!
