Reliable, no-frills workhorse
Let me first say that I am a pretty picky mouse user, and have tried over a dozen models of mice this past year, both wired and wireless, from companies like Logitech, Dell, HP, Kensington, and others. My favorite wireless models seemed to always "improve" every couple years or so, which (in my opinion) actually left them less usable; hence, my search for the perfect wired mouse. I was surprised by the Adesso's exceptional build quality, tracking and accuracy, given its nigh-unbeatable price. The HC-3003US also seems to have been around in its current form for awhile, being cited as Win XP/2000 compatible on its website. As an aesthetic bonus, the body is monochrome black without any distracting branding logos. I could already see this mouse becoming my go-to workhorse. PROS * Basic, no-frills mouse under $10 * The 1000 dpi optical sensor tracks very smoothly on wood, paper, etc. * Mouse wheel appears durable and sturdy -- there's virtually no "give", unless clicked. Also, it's functional -- with notched scrolling and easy to grip rubber. CONS * Fairly audible clicks and scrolling. It's not a silent mouse by any means.

Cheap, simple, works well, but LOUD
As my title states, we need a cheap and easy mouse for use with a laptop, and this does the trick at a great price. The mouse click is crazy loud, but I tend to only notice it if I'm in a bad mood or something. Otherwise it blends into the background noise without a problem. If you just need a no-frills but quality mouse, pick this one up!

this is good and I expect to have to buy another next ...
2014 works okay; BUT IT'S A CHEAP MOUSE; reading many, many reviews CHEAP MICE simple last only 1-2 years not the deserved 5-10 years; cheap switch contacts just wear out.... this is expected and I expect to have to buy another next year. December 2015, original double-clicking in error, just replaced.... unlike others I bought 2 this time [just in case of a DOA] works great and I expect to use the 2nd one in 2016, BUT cheap enough that I don't care!! UPDATE: checked 2nd mouse: right-click really tough to push and moves pointer on screen... will ask for replacement, if free. WHY BUY TWO???? (1) This is a cheap mouse: chances of a DOA high (2) This is a cheap mouse: chances it'll wear-out ASAP high. (3) This is a cheap mouse: it's cheap so why pinch pennies here?? UPDATE: cheap mouse does have a "Wheel Button" i.e. you push down on the wheel and it clicks BUT unable to access this feature and program it. Standard MS Win-7 drivers have no provision for it.... had to order a Logitech M-500, LOL

Good utility mouse for the price
I'm part of a group that reconfigures old computers and then... we give them to folks that couldn't otherwise afford them. We like being able to give a nice optical mouse to these folks too!

Crap...
It was cheap and it acts like it. This mouse never worked right and has caused a bit of a headache. Somethings up with the clickers... like it gets confused of to which clicker you are actually pressing and have not found any software to help this issue.

Light mouse, easy on wrist
I am updating my review. Good mouse! ( i have owned and returned many), i particularly enjoy the light weight of this mouse as heavy mice cause my wrist to have pain. the click speed could use some improvement, and it makes an audible sound. but so far it is working. works on any surface. i hope they dont change the design and destroy the product. it is good as it is, keep making them

An inexpensive product that works very well - what more do you need?
This is a great mouse. The USB capability is wonderful because that's what I prefer - no fiddling around with wireless mice that decide to work only half the time. Just plug it in and you're good to go. It's a simple, functional mouse with the two buttons and a scrolly wheel, and that's really all you need. Inexpensive and totally functional.

Cannot Recommend
Looking for an inexpensive mouse that does all the basics, with no fuss, tried this. I soon found the right mouse button pinches your finger on the side of the mouse when you click it. It's not situated properly. This mouse is poorly designed. Since it doesn't do all the basics with no fuss, and you can't hold the mouse without trouble in the long run -- I recommend look elsewhere for a basic, no nonsense mouse. Believe me, being pinched every time you click the mouse isn't fun.
