Praise for Worth the Wait "Whether Worth the Wait is your first Lori Foster book, or your 100th, she delivers a sexy, engaging contemporary romance every time." โAll About Romance Review: Worth the Wait by Lori Foster - Definitely worth the wait!!!! I love the double story line and getting to see two couples find their HEA, I don't think I've seen that before reading this series. Hogan has a lot of trust issues revolving around women after his now deceased wife betrayed him. He tried burying his anger and grief with meaningless flings and has finally realized that those flings were not only hurting him but also his 17 year old son Colt. Hogan works for Violet Shaw, a red headed temptress and diner owner, as her new barbecue master grilling his awesome ribs with his secret sauce. The chemistry between them is off the charts but Hogan doesn't think he can give Violet anything but a temporary relationship. Violet wants and respects Hogan but is married to her diner and isn't used to depending on anyone but herself. She knows loving him would be a mistake because he won't let himself love again. With the diner's business booming more then ever thanks to Hogan, their relationship also starts blooming as they decide to give in to their chemistry and see where it takes them. Hogan is a wonderful character, he lost everything when his wife betrayed him but he picked himself and his son up and moved on. Violet is awesome, a red headed firecracker with a temper to match. She is independent and in charge, she speaks her mind and truly cares about the people around her. I think Colt is my favorite character, he is everything I think a person should be, courteous, respectful, fun, brave and caring, he definitely deserves his own story. The second storyline was about Nathan, who is the sheriff, lead singer of the Drunken Monkeys and friend to Hogan, Jason and Sullivan. A new neighbor moves in next door to Nathan and he is attracted to her from the first time he sees her. She is very private and avoids him the best she can but Nathan is persistent and finally learns that her name is Brooklyn and she creates jewelry. Nathan continues to pursue Brooklyn and she finally lets him in enough to start a tentative relationship. When she become friends with Violet and together the pair is almost ran down by a van, Brooklyn will have to entrust Nathan with her secrets so they can find who wants to hurt Brooklyn and now Violet by association. The second storyline isn't as detailed since its in the background to the main storyline but still fun to read, it isn't a distraction as it is seamlessly interwoven with the main storyline. Nathan is a protector through and through and Brooklyn definitely need a protector. It was awesome to learn some of Nathan's history to give him more depth as a character, Brooklyn was a perfect match for him. *I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book.* Review: Worth the Wait is a good follow up but left me wanting more - So I went back and reread Worth the Wait again before posting this review. Below is my original review posted on Goodreads and some other locations but I feel like I needed to edit the review. I enjoyed the book both times I read it but I still feel like it was lacking something. I have no idea what it just left me feeling like I needed something else before the end. I wanted to get to know more personal stuff about Hogan and Violet, I feel like I know more about Colt than those 2 (who I hope gets his own book hint hint). It is a good read, make sure you order your copy quickly!! On to the original review. Worth the wait is a follow up book to Donโt Tempt Me, which was first released in July 2016. I happened upon Donโt Tempt Me after completing a book by another author. I loved it and was hungry for a continuation of the Guthrie Brothers story. After waiting for months and months its finally available to read to be transported to Clearbrook once again. Lori Foster, honestly, is one of my favorite authors. She has the ability to put you right in the middle of each and every book she writes. You feel the emotions each character feels, you can hear the sounds, almost smell the smells, and picture each character by her incredible descriptions of people and their surroundings. Worth the Wait is about main characters Hogan Guthrie and Violet Shaw. We met both characters in Donโt Tempt Me and got a muted sense of their attraction to one another. While I loved the characters of Hogan and Colt in Donโt Tempt Me, I donโt know if that transferred over to Worth the Wait where Hogan is concerned. Colt is a dream kid, funny, helpful, loves his family. But I found myself wishing I knew more about Hogan, overall his back-story seemed rushed along. As with most Lori Foster novels we find ourselves getting involved in secondary characters and stories both separate from or including main characters. Some we hope to see get a book of their own (Barber, Colt) and some well maybe we donโt. Worth the Wait has a possible donโt with a secondary romance between Nathan Hawley and Brooklin Sweet. I enjoyed Nathanโs brief introduction in Donโt Tempt Me but I felt like his story was just randomly inserted in the book as a way to fill the pages. After finishing the book I feel like I know a little more about Nathan but mostly that his story was just a way to fill the pages between Hogan and Violetโs dance around each other. I know Nathan wasnโt a main character for this book and I know he was a friend of Hogan and Jason. I also know his story with Brooklin ties in to the story of Hogan and Violet, I just donโt feel like his time was in this book. Seemingly I felt like the story between Hogan and Violet dragged on a little long with some interactions taking a long time on mundane things and speeding through things that may have set up a bigger connection between them. I think more time could have been spent on Violetโs family life, her connection with her uncle etc and grow that a little more for her back-story. Both main characters fell a little flat with detail on the who/what/why of their pasts. Donโt get me wrong, they definitely felt right for each other, I just didnโt get swept away by their romance as I normally do with a Lori Foster novel. Overall I enjoyed Worth the Wait, even the parts that bug me like being able to see someone roll their eyes behind big ridiculous sunglasses, but it probably wonโt be one book I go back to read and read over again (i.e. Rowdy, Trace, Zane to name a few). Sadly this book just didnโt grab my uninterrupted full interest, this time. But I know Lori Foster will grab my attention over and over again with each new book she publishes. I received Worth the Wait as an ARC in exchange for an honest review (watch out because blunt is my middle name). Hope this review helps now hurry and buy your own copy of Worth the Wait to prove me wrong, everyone loves to be right!!

Mature romance with some intrigue and suspense
Worth the Wait bears its title very well! I loved this story, even though it followed one main couple, plus another couple who got less time allotted to them. The writing is so good, and thereโs some well-timed suspense as well as the romance. Hogan had been through the wringer more than once, and Worth the Wait was really about how he was worth waiting for. Violet was attracted to Hogan, but she didnโt want to be just another notch on his bedpost. I was intrigued by Hogan when I first met him in Donโt Tempt Me, and his story was really good. He had quite a bit of thinking through his past to do, before he could completely open up to Violet and maybe start building a new relationship again. Worth the Wait follows two couples, but Hogan and Violet are the main characters, while Nathan and Brooklin have a bit less time for their romance. The suspense parts of the story have to do with Brooklin, and it was interesting how she tried to shy away from everyone who wanted to become her friend. Once Violet broke through her barriers, though, there was no going back. One of my favorite things about Worth the Wait was how great a father Hogan was, wanting to put his sonโs needs before his own. Violet was great with him as well, understanding Coltโs need to be independent all the while needing a little bit of guidance every now and then. The interactions between the various characters were authentic, and I really enjoyed the banter, the friendship and the loyalty. There was a little bit of intrigue as well, as Hoganโs female boss was doing her best to snag him โ bordering on harassing him, she was. Violet totally put her in her place, though! The writing in Worth the Wait was really good, the third person past tense with plenty of dialogues allowed me a good overview, and at the same time get to know the characters fairly well.

The chemistry sizzles in this book!
This was a well written story of second chances that goes back and forth with the intertwined development of two relationships in a small town in Ohio. Hogan is a widower who is known for sowing his wild oats while also raising his teenage son after his wife's death. Violet is a small town diner owner whose life is wrapped up in her growing business and while she finds Hogan attractive she's fighting that attraction because of his reputation. Can Hogan give love a second chance after his wife previously left his heart so shattered and his life in ruins? Can Violet believe that Hogan's ways have changed and to also allow someone else into her life after so many years doing things on her own? The book also focuses as a secondary(isn) couple the hot town sheriff Nathan and the his new to town neighbor Brooklin. Nathan finds Brooklin attractive and is not about to stop pushing her to figure out her secrets and to also to get her to agree to a date. When one evening Brooklin doesn't keep to her schedule Nathan goes to check things out to find her spooked. Will Brooklin be able to trust Nathan with her secrets and to give their relationship a shot? I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I enjoyed this book. Ms. Foster's characters are very likable and always leave you wanting more. I look forward to more from her and more in this series

This story was definitely Worth the Wait
What a fun read! It was hard to put the book down and, you know, eat or go to work. This is book 2 in the Guthrie Brothers series. The story stands alone; they are linked because the first book centered on Jason Guthrie and this one on his brother Hogan. We return to small town life and a pair of HEAs, as in the first Guthrie Brothers book. Hogan Guthrie and diner owner Violet Shaw are one couple, and sheriff Nathan Hawley and new resident Brooklin Sweet are the other. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. We see our โold friendsโ from Donโt Tempt Me, and get to become better acquainted with others. I checked out Ms. Fosterโs web site. I do not think she is planning a book about Colt (and at 17, almost 18 he may be too young) but Hoganโs son is such a wonderful young man! His character is very well developed but I would love to get to know him better. And I do feel that I know the characters in Worth the Wait. I would love to meet Violet for coffee to talk BBQ with Hogan. The love story is hot, but the character development is superb! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book.

Another great story about the Guthrie brothers
I enjoyed getting to know more about Hogan Guthrie and his son. When we last left Hogan in "Don't Tempt Me" he and Violet had just struck a deal that had him cooking his famous ribs at her diner, Screwy Louie. Their story continues as Violet is attracted to Hogan but he doesn't want more than a bit of fun, nothing serious, like marriage. He was betrayed by his ex-wife and could not do any get past that. In his mind, all woman were untrustworthy. His ex had even cleaned out their son's college fund and then she left the house after and argument and ended up causing an accident that killed her. Hogan simply didn't trust women anymore. Violet flirts with him but pulls away, she wants him but isn't sure about him due to his reputation for womanizing shortly after arriving in town to live with his brother. She is a very independent woman who doesn't like to give up control. Hogan winds up taking care of her when she gets sick. While openly stubborn about needing help, she secretly longs for more time with him. Violet is a strong, beautiful, independent woman who wants more than casual sex but she puts up a good front because she wants him however she can get him. Hogan is confused and it takes a hint of danger and her love for him to start to change his opinion of all woman. The danger comes from the second couple in the story, Brooklin specifically. She is new in town and has just moved next to Nathan who happens to be the town sherif. Brooklin is aloof and Nathan makes it his mission to break down her defenses because he wants to get to know her but she is standoffish and only wants privacy. An even occurs that is tied to Brooklin but her friends get sucked into the drama. Brooklin has to confess her secret to Nathan because she is scared and is coming to like this town and it's people, esp. Violet who happens to be "collateral damage" because she struck up a fast friendship. The past comes back to haunt Brooklin but not the past she thinks it is. Nathan has his own issues and together they work to find out who is causing trouble for Brooklin and her friends. I very much enjoyed the scenes with Hogan and his son. Hogan had a dark period after losing his wife after finding out she betrayed him. It's good to see father and son back on track, not that Hogan was a horrible father to begin with, he just was in a very bad place. I loved the town they live in and there are a cast of zany neighbors and a town paper with an advice column that keeps things lively. I hope to read more stories from this small town in Ohio.

Worth the Wait is an amazing read!
Worth the Wait is an amazing read! Hogan Gunthrie is finally in a good place. Hogan and his son Colt are moving on from the destruction his wife left behind after her death. Violet Shaw is the Owner of Screwy Loui's Restaurant where Hogan is the Barbeque Master. Hogan's an alpha male whose been hurt and doesn't want to get married again, but he has the hot's for Violet. Violet is a hard worker, strong, independent, and everyone's friend. She also has it bad for Hogan. The interaction between Hogan, Colt, and Violet is full of a lot of laughs, respect, and love. Sherriff Nathan's story is intertwined with Hogan and Violet's story. He's a HOT alpha male who happens to have the hot's for his new neighbor Brooklyn Sweet. Brooklyn is a mystery that Nathan wants to unravel. Brooklyn watches her shadow, a little shy because of her past, but also a strong and independent. Nathan unravels the mystery as they become closer with danger just around the corner. The ending of both stories is so much FUN, LOTS of laughs, and heartwarming. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
