Columbia Women's Benton Spring II Long Hoodie

I am always cold. Eternally and forever. Typically I just walk around in a fleece bathrobe, but I ordered this to replace another fleece jacket that the zipper had broken on. I find myself much warmer in this than in a bathrobe, and am wearing it now, as it's been quite chilly of late. I was specifically looking for a fleece jacket that covered my butt and had a hood. I love how high the neck is. A few comments: I'm 5'6" and around 120 lbs. The Medium is a bit oversized, and quite comfortable. I'd like to try the small for days where I'd like to feel a bit cuter (or if I'm on vacation and want to look nicer in pics). But I can see myself choosing the medium more often, as I can easily fit a long sleeved tee and a flannel under it. Would really like to try the small, though, and see how that goes. Yes, the sleeves are long, and I love them. I have really long arms and my freezing wrists are always hanging out. It's nice to have something that goes to mid-hand. I haven't had any issues with the zipper except for the first time. It takes a couple of tries to get used to double zippers, but once you get the hang of it, it should be easy. I'm currently debating ordering a second one, and which size to order in. It's a shame that that only gray and black are left.

After a LOT of consideration and comparing jackets, I bought the Columbia Women's Benton Springs II jacket in a 2x. FIT: I like my jackets loose and usually wear a 1x. The 2x isn't huge on me, but fits with a little extra room to wear a top underneath and still hang nicely. I absolutely love the length of this jacket! It covers my rear and has a wonderful A-line shape which is flattering. I have what my kids call "T-Rex arms". (Kids always give you the nicest compliments!) The sleeve length is about 1.5-2" too long for me, which is very common in just about every long-sleeve top I buy. I can deal with that by rolling up the sleeve, or if it's cold, keeping it down. I can always make that minor adjustment with a few quick stitches too. What made me especially happy was that there is enough room in the upper arm for even people with big arms like me. CONSTRUCTION: I'm not usually "into" fleece but this jacket is so cozy and amazingly lightweight! I was surprised at how lightweight it is to hold, but once you have it on, it's surprisingly warm. When I take it off, it'll be easy to carry around. I hate heavy jackets and this one is going to be perfect for cool So. Cal. days or for traveling. The zipper is a double one that you can open from the bottom or the top and seems to be of good quality. I'm hoping the jacket material won't pill but will follow others' instructions to line-dry it instead of using the dryer. Seriously one of the best purchases I've made on jackets in a long time.

I am 5'8" and 164lbs, and the large fits me nicely! This is my second purchase of this exact sweater/coat. I purchased one years ago at a local retailer that I wore almost daily in the fall, winter, and spring here in the PNW. The zipper eventually gave out and the material looked pretty worn. It lasted over 5 years of frequent use, so I was satisfied. I loved it so much, I went on the hunt to find a new one. I was shocked to find that Columbia still makes it, and Amazon sells it! I waited for it to go on sale before purchasing, but honestly the regular price is far below what I paid for my first one years ago. The length and overall fit is just right. It is very warm and the material is soft. I personally like the oversized hood on this sweater, too. It helps keep my face dry when it sprinkles, which is often in the PNW. It doesn't take long to dry out from the light rain. The fit is very stylish, as it snugs up closer to the waist but tapers out around the hips and covers my bottom. The gray color contrasts well to black leggings. This is my go-to sweater for mild weather!

Very nice quality coat, so incredibly warm I roasted in it just trying it on in house, should work wonders to keep colds bite off playing in the snow! HOWEVER, it is true to size and a form fitting style so it is snug fit as suggested in reviews. I am a size 1x and there's room in the arms for a thin to medium thickness sweater. Size up is recommended for a tad looser fit. The hood sits high up on shoulders but will be cozier in chilly windy weather, but I wished it was detachable. My arms are just over average length and it fit fine so if you are taller with long arms you should be fine; shorter arms prepare to hem, roll, or push up sleeves. ONE LAST THING, the color Black looks more like a dark charcoal, on the upside of that, it makes the fleece look like velveteen from 5 ft away. Why i deducted 1 star from a 5-star coat, the Black needs to be Black! No real complaints and happy with purchase! Would buy again in other color and do recommend buying it.

This is hands down my favorite Columbia jacket, and I own two other rain jackets, a hood-less fleece, and a winter coat that are all Columbia brand. This jacket is a flattering style that accentuates the waistline. It’s a nice, long length so if you are cycling or stretching or doing anything physical, your low back stays covered, which I love. It’s just warm enough to wear out and about in mild snowy conditions, though it’s a little bit too warm for me for warmer, rainy days. (I tend to run warm, though.) I love the hood option and the way the hood is cut and sits with the neckline on this jacket. It’s got huge, roomy pockets so I can stuff my mask, keys, wallet, and snacks in there and still be able to zip the pockets closed easily as I bike everywhere. Per usual, the sleeves are a little too long for me so I have to roll them up, but that’s always the case for Columbia gear on my body. For reference I’m about 5’4”, 225#, and I have a long (“tall”) mid-section. I usually prefer to buy longer shirts and jackets, especially tunic styles, to make sure I’m covered comfortably. I usually wear XL, XXL, or 1x tops depending on the brand. I bought the XL of this jacket and feel like it runs large, though perhaps that’s just a fluke. An XL is more than enough room for my sizable chest (34F) and tummy, and I can zip all the way up with room to spare. Weirdly, I couldn’t even fit into 1X Columbia snow pants, so, sizing feels really inconsistent which might be an issue with the manufacturing factories. Who knows. At any rate, excellent jacket. Highly recommend. Very cute, comfy, and functional!

Columbia fleece runs snug so buy one size up if you prefer loose fitting

Cozy, very warm, soft fabric and long enough to cover the bottom of the trunk, which I was desperately needing for frigid weather. BUT, while the zippers function well, the hand pocket zippers were miserable for me; harsh, scratchy, skin-scraping. Too late to send back, i’d already worn it. I managed to cut out the zippers with tiny “swan” scissors, avoiding nicking the fabric or seams. Took a longgg time, lot of patience but I can use the pockets now. Just know, if that if it could be a problem for you, avoid this one. Surprised at Columbia for missing this detail.

I’m someone who ended up with 20 extra pounds after my last pregnancy—and, as if that wasn't enough, I gained another 10 on top of that. I now weigh 183 lbs, and it has been a really difficult adjustment for me; I’m not used to wearing clothes designed for plus-size figures, so no matter how many stores I visited, nothing felt right. However, this coat—aside from being incredibly comfortable and warm—actually made me feel at ease with my current physique. The sizing is just right, and it doesn't make your tummy look prominent. Anyway, that’s just my personal experience, but overall, the coat is beautiful, comfortable, and warm.

Good it is kind of small on me but I think that’s the style and usually I wear size medium/large clothes. Also there is 2 zippers

Very warm and well fitted jacket for woman's figure. Medium size is more like 10-12 (Australian) than 8-10.
