Not until after completing Book 1 did I realize that War Planners was a 3-book series, so I read the three one after another. The characters are developed ok, and the story line moves along. The plot, i.e., a Chinese billionaire and a Chinese Naval Admiral conspire to start World War III with the US without the Chinese government being aware of the plot, seems a bit on the edge, but nonetheless it is an interesting read throughout the series of the 3 books. I suspect that there could be a 4th book at some point in time (I think I even read online recently that a 4th book was in the works) as one of the central characters working with the Chinese billionaire disappears at the end of book 3 thereby leaving the door open. Review: Scary plot! - I really like author Andrew Watts, and his ability to plan an incredibly chilling and twisting plot! I do however, recommend sticking with reading the book and skipping the audiobook, which is completely weird. (A few examples - Buckingham is suddenly called OโMalley twice before going back to Buckingham; NASA pronounced as Nassau; a semiactive missile is misread as a semi-automatic missile; entire paragraphs omitted). Just skip the audiobook and read the book instead. You will not be disappointed and you will get the full excitement of the book without having to stop and figure out all these oddities in the middle of the story.

Plenty of Action and Suspense
Well done as the others in this series. The plot, characters, and writing are top notch. Once you start reading it's hard to put down.

Outstanding Series!!
Coming from a family of several veterans and a retired Navy officer myself I'm drawn to military fiction and in The War Planners series Andrew Watts gets it right!! His characters, from the highest levels of government and industry all the way to individual sailors and operators at the pointy end of the spear are compelling and authentic. The main and sub plots kept me reading late into the night - good thing I was reading the Kindle version so there was no reading lamp to bother my wife ;-) I've already downloaded the next book in the series!! A big "BZ" (that's Navy for Well Done) to Andrew.

Read all 3 books of the series.
Excellent action in the plot and intriguing story. Very thought provoking. At times a little you had to really stretch your imagination. Anyone who enjoys a page turner and a thought provoking story line should read the series. I am looking forward to the next books he has written. The authorโs background lends a great deal of credibility to military and technology written on in the books. I believe 4 stars were a deserved rating for the 3 books! Download and see if you agree with me.

My review of a great book
This was a action packed adventure in book form equal to a Tom Clancy novel. As a ex white hat and a airdale I only spoted 3 nautical errors in chapter 12 parking the ship, liberty for all hands and your description of GQ. These are minor flaws only noticed by an ex swabbie. I wrote you a letter to your Ohio address I found at the bottom of your email that I received from you I hope you get it , now I can start reading book 4 it also looks like another great adventure thank you Peter F Halloran Jr

I read this trilogy in two days and I recommend that others do also
I read this trilogy in two days and I recommend that others do also. Several reviewers allude to a fourth volume, but I do not know what book that is. Each of the books ends strangely. You are sure that there is more to the story, but the ending of each is neither a cliff hanger nor a conclusion. I did enjoy the story. I thought it fresh and innovative and the pace kept me reading in part because it was even without major highs and lows. The characters are believable and mostly likeable and their individual tension combine to create a thrilling read.

Excellent read!
Buy the whole series, turn off the tv and get ready for โcanโt put it down, I really need to go to bed โ reading sessions! This series has it all! Espionage, intrigue, action, family, military life, and more. What would it look like if China attacked America and its allies? How would they do it? Why? Where would they start? Excellent read!

some great insights into the specifics of Ops on board a ...
3rd in the series, tension building... some great insights into the specifics of Ops on board a Navy Warship. plus some great background into the Political battles internally within security organisations, and the inevitable damage that it does to a country as a whole. Scary that the scenario's outlined, are wholly possible and probable, meanwhile in actual real life, the US has signed a $110 BN Defence Deal with Saudi.. there's another story waiting to be written.. stranger than fiction. Great books, looking fwd to more.

Loved the 3 books
Loved the 3 books. Book 1 was a little slow at first but I realised Andrew was setting the basics. Once David and Henry escaped the story really moved on and book 3 really delivered a stunning climax. Can't wait for the next book to see how Lena Chou comes through it all.
