SolidWorks 2010 Bible

I've taken several of the SW classes, so I have plenty of reference books on how to do most things but this book gives you a wealth of details not covered in those books, it's definitely a must have, "go to", reference.

I really, really wanted to buy this book for Kindle. I even downloaded a sample, where I discovered the same problem that caused me to return a similar technical book in Kindle - figures are too small and there is no reasonable way to zoom them. I know that some technical Kindle books do have enlarged figures, but I don't think this is one of them.Someday I'd love to see ALL books available for Kindle, with the graphics size problem FIXED. There's no good technical reason for the problem.I can't blame Kindle for the content that the publisher provides them. (I do blame them for no graphics zoom capability in Kindle for PC, a terrible non-feature..)What a boon it would be for users of technical books to have them available on Kindle, with graphics zoom capabilities that would allow even the poorly sighted among us to look closely! Some day.

The most comprehensive book on Solidworks I have seen. Essential for anyone using or contemplating using Solidworks. Great for learning your way around this solid modelling software and as a reference book once you are up and running. Don't try to live without it!

The product description states, "The only guide you need to learn the leading 3D solid modeler program, SolidWorks." Not entirely true. The bible covers a LOT of information - some important, some not so. A lot of the information - I've seen on blogs and in the SolidWorks Help / Tutorials.He doesn't use the default interface windows (toolbar locations) - so it was confusing to me as a new user. I was comparing the book to my system. I hit a hot key by mistake which activated a selection filter, it took over 5 minutes before I realize that a filter was active and 5 minutes looking through the book to deactivate it. I gave up looking and blogged the question. The book index provided no help - filters page 1048 - featuremanger - no selection filters. This is a reference book?Try to find information on an eDrawing using the index? There is no mention of the Universial Joint Mate or Add-ins. No examples or tutorials of the Curve feature, Equation Driven Curve, etc. - just definitions from SolidWorks. The more I look through the book, the more it does not have the items I'm looking for. THE ONLY GUIDE - NO WAY!!!

A very well book for begginers and for the user with experience in Solidworks.Congratulations for the autor.I recomend this one for who want to know a litle bit more about Solidworks

It is an Analytic and detailed written book for the software. I like it.

The book it self is ok, the CD will not work I tried it in all my computer's. You are probably better off downloading​ the book in PDF form. The CD is not worth it.

Firstly the one and only downside of this review, is that the book could be illustrated in colour.Yes I know this would hike up the price, but hey a book of this calibre is all you need to understand and learn Solidworks.I would gladly pay a higher price for such a masterly written and easy to follow and understand book, you could get to know SW from just this one purchase.Follow on releases follow a much similar format and this is a fantastic foundation.In colour it would be a five star review, and would justify a five star price tag.SW is a massive program, and I am glad to see the 2011 version of this book expanded into two extended volumes.

My dad is a teacher and he uses this book daily. Dad finds the book very useful and he is never without it (it even comes on holiday with us!!) There are more up to date versions of it which maybe better if you are using the newer solidworks program but if you are looking to save some cash then this book its a good bet.

Having moved jobs i had to become a solid worker rather than a pro engineer so i found this book, along with the surfacing bible very helpful to guide me through.
