Skagen Melbye Stainless Steel Watch for Men

Skagen Melbye wears very thin, is extremely lightweight, and is very comfortable to wear everyday. The metal strap is infinitely adjustable. It is very tolerant to sweat showing no staining or damage after a Florida summer. The strap clasp requires you to read the instructions but easy to adjust after that. After three months, it’s my most worn watch. I love the Danish minimalist design.

I've worn Skagen watches for years and every one of them received unsolicited compliments, esp one they no longer make. But my other two lasted probably average of 6 years. Batteries need replacing every 6 mo to 1 year but they keep time well although the second hand does not precisely align with the second tics on the watch face and to me that just yells cheap. In every other way--size, weight heft, comfort, awareness--it really feels super nice and I have no doubt I will get compliments on this one too. From experience I would not subject this or any other Skagen watch to heavy duty work. It will actually take it but the crystal will get scratched or in worse cases can be cracked. In fact, that's why I needed a new watch. I tried a cheap $30 casio--perfectly acceptable and a decent watch but just not for me. So there ya have it maties..hope this info serves ya well!

Though it was difficult at first to set the say, date, and time due to a printing error in the directions, I finally figured it out. The direction shows three positions for the pullout know (position one for time setting, position two for month setting, and position three for day/date setting). However, there is no position three on the watch. With all that said, the watch is keeping excellent time. It is a sleek design and is great for doing activities since it is lite and sits closely to your skin.

this is one of the first items in my watch collection. when i received it, the box was normal and when i saw, it was really good looking compared to standard watches. the straps are good, i liked them and easy to adjust. thickness is very good, thinner than normal watches. almost a month ago started using daily and it looks very good.

Nice looking for a first look and I like "Denmark" on the dial. Yet, I returned it since the second hand did not even land on the markers.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I get compliments on this watch all the time. It’s slim profile and unique design make it a great everyday watch. The hands are very slim and at times difficult to read. But overall a great watch and I love looking at it! The adjustable clasp design is a huge plus as you can adjust to various sizes without having to go to a jeweler to remove links. VERY functional!

Although this Skagen watch is beautiful, the clasp that sizes the band to ones wrist size keeps opening up. The clasp unclasped while wearing the watch, and it fell off my wrist onto the concrete walkway and the watch face glass broke. The Clasp must be defective, When I went to return on Amazon, the return time limit was expired. I have several watches that I trade up weekly to wear. I wore this watch two times within a month. The second time wearing it is when it fell off my wrist and broke. I guess I only had up to 30 days to return if any problems with the watch. I'll never order anything like this again unless I have at least 60 days to return. Now it's a yard sale item.

I have this watch since 2017. It is lightweight and I have just changed battery for the second time. The mesh band is awesome, comfortable, no snags and my hand can breathe. Display is nice, medium size and easy to read. Looks great whether casual or dressed occasion. Major plus - it doesn’t have that weird gap between the band and the watch. Only complaint, the crystal scratches quite easily. Manhandled by my kids and it has fallen maybe three times, never had the crystal break. One fall was so bad the chrown stopped working, I could not adjust the date. The watchmaker had to realign the gears, but the crystal did not break - and it is still working a year later. Hence 5 stars. Fingers crossed my next Skagen crystal does not break 🤞 🤞

This watch is large, robust and good looking matching it's description. I am still getting used to it's size. It replaces a more minimalist thinner, smaller two hand Skagen model no longer made which dissapointed me. The Grey is a great watch but would not be my first choice had I had the smaller option.
