Good Solid Impressive Printer
Felt slightly dubious reading some of the reviews but took the plunge to buy the HP OJP 9025, liking the 500 sheet trays and promised speed. So far, everything has been great, linked by wifi to my Macbook Pro, I am certainly no computer geek but just turned it on and followed the instructions on the little screen on the printer. Did not need to use the enclosed start up guide or look for any on line directions - really simple and straightforward. Really not like me to manage anything like this without swearing!! Only took a few moments more to add my wife's iPad and my phone and have a play printing things from different places in the house and different devices. (I know little things please little minds) Simplest set up ever, I never managed to utilise the wifi on the Canon this is replacing. The printing is really quick compared to any previous printer I have had and whilst I haven't done any large jobs yet I have no reason to seriously doubt the figures given. It scans really quickly as well and the document feeder is a big plus for me. General printing quality is good but photo quality is the only reason I only give four stars for quality, I did not expect great as it is not a photo printer so it is an acceptable trade off for the speed gains.Build quality seems good and solid for the price.Reviewed my likely useage and decided not to utilise the HP instant ink process. So five stars in all but one area for me so far. Will try to remember to come back and correct if I have reason to become less impressed.

Easiest printer instal I have had in 20 years
I dread having to replace a printer and when my old Canon PIXMA died this week I knew that I would have to inevitably spend hours fighting to set up whatever new printer at my office. I went for this as I have a very old and reliable HP laser printer and this ink jet had two sizeable trays which is ideal for me as I use two kinds of paper as standard.I was able to take this out of the box and have it set up and printing wirelessly by three different devices in less than 13 minutes and that includes installing the ink which was probably the trickiest part of the process.Honestly never ever have I had a printer set up on one device in that time let alone all three.Print quality is excellent, ink tanks are massive, prints highest quality prints faster than any machine I have ever owned and the black print is only a tad slower than a Lazer printer.

Good print jobs
Reasonable value for money. But the cost of cartridge replacement is worrisome

Works with MacBook Pro M1
I bought a new MacBook Pro with the M1 chip in January 2021 and found my old HP printer / scanner, which I had used happily for more than 10 years, would not work with the new computer. I could work the printer through my iPhone, but this was not really satisfactory. So I have now bought the HP OfficeJet 8102 and that works fine with the MacBook using AirPrint and HP Smart to communicate. The print quality seems fine and the 8012 does double sided printing automatically, which is easier than my old printer. I will see how the Instant Ink system works, I have just signed up for the £1.99 per month allowance at the moment and will see how that goes. I don't do a lot of printing as I try not to store anything on paper, but I do scan any paperwork that I receive to keep it digitally. Scanning seems to work fine, 300 dpi is OK for any paperwork.

Beware of the Instant Ink delivery process
Firstly, this is mainly a review of the HP Instant Ink Delivery system that is promoted with the purchase of the printer.I must state that is the fastest I have ever had the misfortune of returning a product. From the printer arriving to boxing up and printing the return label was only 3 hours. The printer itself arrive as promised and was well boxed in its retail box packaging. It is a solidly built piece of kit and looked quite nice sat on the desk, taking up the same amount of space as the Canon printer it was replacing. The setup process was painless and within 10 minutes I had answered all the setup questions, inserted the setup inks, connected to the WIFI and printed out a test page. So far so good. The printer is Instant Ink Ready with 2 Months Trial Included. This needs to be registered within 7 days of purchase to take advantage of the trial offer. I Investigated all the small print before signing up and I decided on the 7.99 a month plan which gives 300 pages/month. I selected this plan as being a new printer there would be a likelihood of higher volume prints within the first two months and as the small print said you can downgrade the plan at any time. The setup inks supplied, which according to What’s in the box:- have the following print volumes:-HP 963 Setup Black Ink Cartridge (~1,000 pages)HP 963 Setup Cyan Ink Cartridge (~700 pages)HP 963 Setup Magenta Ink Cartridge (~700 pages)HP Setup 963 Yellow Original Ink Cartridge (~700 pages)As soon as you sign up the inks become part of Instant Inks trial, not separate from it, and are limited to 300 pages per month printing. Any pages printed over the 300 pages are charged at £1.00 for 20 pages. So for the period of the two month trial I am limited to 600 pages, in effect, I am getting less than the 1000 & 700 pages I could have had without the trial.I went online and had a ‘live chat’ with a support representative who told me if I cancelled the trial the supplied cartridges would no longer work because HP had now locked them to the Instant Ink delivery service and I will need to purchase HP inks, priced at 101.41 from Amazon.I have now cancelled the Instant ink service and also cancelled my PayPal reoccurring payment just in case they decide to take payment. After talking to Amazon, they have accepted my return, making the process painless as possible, thank you Amazon.Even though I researched this replenishment system I have been caught with what I consider ‘sharp practice’ by what I considered a trusted big-name company.I hope this may help anyone else who is considering going down the same route of Instant Ink delivery from HP.
