Clock works well.
This clock works perfectly. I bought this clock to insert in a small grandfather clock I made. It looks good, works well and keeps accurate time. I can unreservedly recommend this to anyone. Having said that, I have been using this for only a couple of months so I cannot say whether it will last a long time but for now, I am very happy with it.

Repaced non funtioning pendulums
Works as intended. I replace the non functioning units in two school house clocks and now the pendulums move again. In my case, the new movement mounting stalks were much longer than the ones I replaced so I had to add spacers behind the clock face to make them fit. Also, the swing of the new movement was such that the pendulum hit the side of the clock case with each swing. I corrected that by placing velcro felt where the pendulum hit the case and solved the problem. For some, the case knocking might seem like ticking and perhaps they would like to keep it, but I prefer a silent movement. The old movement chimed and these movements do not but that was OK. I really wanted the pendulums to work and they do now.

Works well - very quiet - Note oblong hole on minute hand
The media could not be loaded. I used this to replace a movement on a clock my brother-in-law had made for us. I was able to reuse the hands from the original movement (I prefer black), then add the gold sweep second hand from this kit. This was one of the few kits that had a press-fit hour hand and an oblong hole for the minute hand, the same as the movement I was replacing. I needed to add a little spacer behind the movement and bend the hands in slightly to clear the glass housing. It has been keeping time perfectly. I also don't like the ticking sound of a pendulum clock. I don't know if it is because the clock hangs slightly forward (not flush to the wall) on top, but it runs very quitely, which is what I wanted.

Nice but high priced
These pendulum kits are all the same however this one was high priced compared to the others with no better quality construction to it and as a matter of fact the hands were short small and flimsy so I use the ones off the broken kit that I took out also this one and all the other pendulum kits have pendulums that are not adjustable and they are making them too short for many of the clocks so I took off a star for that too because the older ones were longer and adjustable simply by breaking off and inch or two or three if you needed too make them shorter.

Effective repair
I was asked to see if I could fix a friend's clock, a nice and obviously expensive piece, but it uses a simple standard mechanism like this. The old unit looks like it was damaged by a leaking battery and cleaning up didn't fix it so just ordered up this guy. Somewhat unfortunate is that the pendulum movement (which is independent of the timekeeping function, it's just cosmetic) does up the price a fair bit..Actually, I did encounter a problem, this new movement would stall after every 6 seconds. I know I could rely on Amazon to replace it if necessary, but decided to investigate further, and found the problem was a very tiny piece of crud stuck in a little gear that would stop on every rotation, which translated to 6 seconds. I was lucky that the crud was black and the gear white, so it was visible. Cleared that outta there and it ran fine.I've wrestled with knocking a star off the review on the basis that there could be a quality control and/or testing deficiency here, but this seems like such an offbeat and probably one-off problem I'll let that go.Installing the mechanism was otherwise straightforward, but did use the original clock's hands and pendulum, it all fit just fine, and the lady is happy.

mine did not work either (check recent reviews)
I received it fast, thanks Amazon Prime! It was not too difficult to replaced the movement from my clock. It fit okay, I had to take some extra parts out of the old clock. When I put a battery in, it did not function at all.I tried different batteries, but nothing, no movement, nada! After checking the recent reviews it appears that these were once decent items, but now they either don't last long, or as in my case, do not work at all.Update: I bought this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001O992WSIt came in a nondescript box, with the components in little bags, but it works great. Even with a rechargeable battery without much charge left, the pendulum swings like it is never going to stop... :)
