Merula Cup XL Midnight (Black) - The Menstrual Cup for Those Very Heavy Days

I needed a bigger cup to help me get through the 2nd day of my cycle, which can be challenging when it falls on work days as I’m often traveling. This cup has been a game changer. Usually, I’m changing my La Fleur cup out every two-to-three hours on my heavy day, but this has allowed me 6 hours! The first time I used it, it was a bit uncomfortable but the discomfort has dissipated with each subsequent use!

Had been using the super Jennie since 2020 and it has been such a game changer for my heavy flow. I still had to change it after every 2 hours or so before I experienced leakage. I also didn't like the stains left on the cup. Very happy to find out that there were bigger cups available, and this one also comes in a black size. Now I can go 5 hours without changing it, and 0 leaks during bedtime after the 2nd day of my period. After the 2nd day, I can go 8 hours without leaks!! Love the color of the cup. One thing I have to say is, it's difficult to get the cup out with just pinching the base, because of how big it is and the material is more firm. My fine motor skills aren't also the best. But using the stem, I am able to hook my finger in and pull it down enough to release the seal so that I can pinch it.

Generally, I have one day of my cycle that is equivalent to the red wedding happening in my whoo haw. No amount of repositioning my diva cup kept me from being a leaky, clott-y faucet. Previously, I had to be near a bathroom the whole day in case that moment comes when you feel the lava gush releasing from your nether regions and need to excuse yourself immediately for fear of having to treat mother nature's monthly gift as a blood borne pothagens spill on aisle 5. THIS TIME, however, my new bad boy of a cauldron collected that red rain like a champ. I only had a small leak after 6 hours or so. The cup is slightly firmer than a Diva cup, but not by much. Removal was fairly easy, but the base is less grippy than my other cup and visions of dropping this into a public restroom toilet had me hanging onto the ladder stem for dear life. Don’t pull a Rose and let Jack find his final resting place in the deep, dark waters of your local sewer. Hang onto that stem! CONS: This cup is larger than your average cup and my downstairs was like a tight lipped baby suspiciously eyeing a spoon when their parent tries to convince them that the incoming airplane with food on it requires you to open up wide. Nothing a little lube can't fix, but you're probably going to want to just shove the thing up there when your patience runs out. Don't do that. You'll have to pull it out and reposition it again and you've probably already spent enough time on the toilet at that point. Just be persistent and be prepared for plenty of hand washing. Strongly recommend this product if your uterus won’t stop throwing a giant tantrum every month simply because you aren’t with child. Give it the binky it deserves.

I was really excited to try this cup as my flow is quite heavy and I got this one specifically for that reason. The cup is quite large which I didn't mind (with the promise that it would hold more liquid) but the truth is that it does not hold more than another cup. Because the cup is so thick the insertion can be a bit painful. The cup does not fill to the top or below. When I removed it sitting down on the toilet. The cup had so much pressure it splattered all over my white shower curtains, the floor, the tub. I only realized it was blood after I finished. I wish I could get a refund. I bought it from Canada so there is nothing I can do. That's just my experience.

I have a very heavy flow.. it isn’t the heaviest but I typically fill a standard menstrual cup every 2 hours on my heavy day. This one I’ve changed twice in an 8 hour span. Minimal leakage that wouldn’t penetrate the back up thinx I wear. I don’t feel the suction pain that the others complained about. I do feel the cup/ am highly aware of it when I’m cramping but it doesn’t hurt; just annoys me. The reason I took off a star is that the cup is so big that I have a hard time getting it to pop open in my vagina. It’ll stay folded without some finagling.

Best capacity of any cup I've tried! Those of us w/a super heavy flow know the worry/panic/struggle of dealing w/it, and this cup gave me a few hours w/o needing to empty it (whereas I could barely last an hour in other cups). It's firm and sturdy, and the punch-down method is the only way that really works for insertion. The suction is STRONG, so make sure to pinch and release the suction before pulling it out. I highly recommend this!

when it works, it’s amazing. When it doesn’t it’s a giant annoying mess. Hard to get a seal at times. Does increase cramps/ pain.

Wow! Having always struggled with heavy periods, I have tried to find a cup that would work for years and finally have! This cup is amazing. The rim at the top means that you can remove the cup and not easily spill the contents.. the “ladder” pull at the bottom is easy to use and comfortable to wear. It holds an amazing capacity! I would usually go through a super max tampon ( or when in the US the xxl tampons) every 30 mins on days 1&2 of my period but I was able to leave this cup in for HOURS on the first day... and consequent days, leave it almost the entire working day. Absolutely revolutionary for me. It is sturdy and so feels firm to begin with but after a day I was used to the feeling... and having had 2 children, it stays in place, fits well and sits where it needs to! I would 100% recommend this cup for anyone post-childbirth with extremely heavy periods and endometriosis.

De grootte van de cup is fijn bij stevig bloedverlies. Zeker lekvrij en inbrengen is eenvoudig maar de cup verwijderen is in mijn geval zeer pijnlijk omdat de bovenrand zo hard is. Helaas een miskoop voor mij.

Hace 2 años que soy usuaria de copa menstrual, hasta ahora he usado la intimidad Lily cup, aunque casi siempre he sufrido pérdidas y me la tenía que vaciar cada 2 horas más o menos. Cómo estaba cansada de los cambios tan frecuentes y sobre todo de continuar usando compresas estuve decidida a coger una de más capacidad, está tiene 50 ml. La Copa no es más grande que la que tenía y es igual de rígida. Es el primer ciclo que la uso y no puedo estar más contenta. Es muy fácil de poner y a la hora de quitar es más cómoda y fácil aún. Las 2 arandelas que tiene para sacar la copa son muy prácticas y me ha gustado mucho más que el sistema que tienen casi todas las copas. Me aguanta 5 horas sin vaciar, tengo la regla muy abundante, los tampones más absorbentes me los cambiaba cada 1 y media o 2 horas y por la noche me aguanta bien. Y lo más importante, sin pérdidas!! En conclusión, una pasada de copa. Estoy encantada con la compra y muy contenta. Se la recomiendo a la gente que tiene las reglas muy abundantes sin lugar a dudas y si no pues la pequeña que es igual que esta pero sin tanta capacidad.

J’ai acheté cette cup parce que mes règles sont très abondantes les premiers jours. D’habitude, j’utilise des tampons super plus, mais je dois les changer environ toutes les 30 minutes surtout avec les caillots qui ne sont souvent pas absorbé. J’ai donc voulu tester la cup : un peu difficile à déployer au début, il faut prendre le coup de main, mais rien d’insurmontable. Je l’ai choisie surtout parce que j’avais un trajet de 3 heures en voiture sans possibilité de m’arrêter. Résultat : après 4 heures d’utilisation, la cup n’était remplie qu’à moitié ! Franchement, ça a révolutionné mes règles : je revis, j’en oublie même que je les ai. Pour les baignades aussi, c’est incomparable : alors qu’un tampon finit par s’imbiber, la cup reste totalement hermétique. En résumé : un excellent achat, je suis vraiment ravie !
