Great for pull-ups
I do a lot of pull-ups at the gym and always used gloves to keep from tearing my hands ups, but they would always start coming apart at the seams and the rubber on the palms would start wearing out. Maybe people who use gloves mostly for weight lifting donโt have that problem because they are mostly just pushing (just a guess), but when youโre doing several sets of pull-ups several times a week, I think hanging from the bar puts a lot of added stress on the seams and itโs difficult to find a pair that will hold up to that stress over time. Iโd never seen these before until I saw someone at the gym using them and asked them what they were. He showed them to me, said he really liked them, and had the same problem with gloves. So I came home, looked for them on Amazon and found these. After seeing some reviews that the more padded grip types show more wear, I ordered a pair of the โFirm Gripโ pads to try. I donโt need a lot of padding. I just need something that protects my hands and gives me a better grip so I can do more. I wasnโt sure about them at first, so I waited until I had a chance to use them for a while before writing this review. Being used to gloves, they arenโt quite as convenient as putting on a pair and just leaving them on, (although I see they do have some with hands straps) and you have to get used to where/how you place them on your palms, but after week or so of using them, it became second nature and I donโt even think about it. Also, Iโm not โJoe Weight Lifter Guyโ like most guys I see at the gym using gloves. I do mostly machines, pull-ups, dips, etc., and always felt a little silly with gloves for everything, but it was inconvenient to keep taking them on and off and having bulky gloves in my pocket. With these, I just keep them in my pocket to pull out when I need them, and itโs nice that they lay flat with no bulk. After 2 months of use, Iโm very happy with these and they show zero signs of wear. Iโm pretty sure these are going to last a very long time. If you are like me and looking for something mostly for pull-ups or just want a little padding with more grip, I highly recommend the โFirm Gripโ option.

Better than wearing sweaty gloves!
I'll admit I was a little skeptical at first, but honest Amazon customers have helped me once again! I was tired of wearing weight lifting gloves (I've been using gloves for over 10 years). So I came on Amazon and I was actually searching for something else. Honestly, I wanted better gloves than the ones I had because they are cheap, ripped easily and the dye on them started to bleed really bad every time I washed them. During my search, I found these. Firm Grip Power Pads. Okay, what makes them so good you ask? Pros: + Lightweight + Easy to clean and dries fast + Can be used to grip a variety of weights, bars, dumbbells, barbells, resistance cords. + Fits in my gym short pockets + Bendable + Does not leave your hands feeling sweaty and damp + Not slippery + Makes everyone at the gym look at you because you are using superior technology + Provides a lot of grip + 10x better than using gloves + Bench press, curl barbells, curl dumbbells with no problems Cons - Has a smell that wears off, but is still there after three months of use - Might get misplaced since they are not attached to your hands - Could slip, but hasn't slipped on me once yet - No wrist support, but I knew that before purchasing I love these firm grip power pads. I suggest you buy the firm grip ones because they can be used for a variety of workouts. I will definitely buy these again when mines are no longer good. But three months in and they are still going strong!

Great for Heavy Pushing/Pulling
It is important for me to not spend money on products that I can grow out of before having worn them out. That said, I am totally satisfied with these! I use the firm pads and exercise mostly with free weights and body weight. Before Grip Power Pads, I switched to bare hands from gloves because gloves failed to provide the grip I needed. However, as I begin approaching my body weight (200+/-) with pulling exercises (e.g. cable rows, dead lifts, pull-ups, t-bar rows, lat pull-downs, etc), I find that my grip is not always as secure as I would like it. Adding these pads to the equation solved that problem for me. They also provide a good amount of cushion during pushing exercises (e.g. military press, chest/bench press, tricep work, pushups, etc). I can also use them while working with an ab wheel or to help hold a medicine ball during various ab exercises. Additionally, since these pads are easy to dry and are contoured, my profuse sweating has never been an issue. I tried pads made by another company, but found them to be too thin. They tore in the center while still being fairly new and didn't provide enough cushion for the pushin'. I have read reports from others that are not too fond of the smell of these pads, but it doesn't bother me. If anything, they smell just like a rubber mouse pad or the rubber of a brand new pair of sneakers. My only issue with these is that I lose them before they wear out (many months & many workouts). Otherwise, I have no complaints. Buy these. Heck, but two pair!

Short cut grip
This is a great substitute when I do not want to wear my gloves. Grips the weights well.

Definitely worth it, exactly as promised.
I bought these to help primarily with my back workouts - I do 15-20 sets total, once per week, and by the end of my workout I'm far more limited by how much my palms burn than anything else. It's a long workout (it's what The Rock does, so how bad can it be?) and I really needed some help with this skin pain. At first glance, these just seemed like a couple of rectangles of rubber that I could have made by cutting up an old yoga mat, but they really worked for me. I got through 20 sets of pullups, rows, pulldowns and one-arm rows and never felt it in my palms. As a bonus, though the pads are not very thick, I've had nice soreness in the belly of my forearms since that workout - not sure if the larger grip diameter makes my forearms/grip work harder, but I like the side effect. Definitely worth it.

Grip Power Pads - Great for the hands
These pads worked very well. I ordered the firm pads. As for the description for the different pads, I pulled the F.A.Q. from manufacturer's website: "What is the difference between your 3 products: Soft, Firm, and Sponge? 1) Soft Grip Pads - are very comfortable pads, the best grip you can get; ideal for light lifting but not for heavy lifting. We recommend this for women and men what do light weight lifting, or GYM beginners. 2) Firm Grip Pads - for weight lifting over 40 lbs. 3) Foam Grip Pads (the thicker surface) - for more advanced weight lifters." They looked like mini mouse pads and had a good non slip texture on both sides. I tried doing bent over rows, dead lifts and pull ups and they protect the hands quite well. Most of the dumbbells I own have that cheese grater like texture on the handle and these pads gave the impression I was using a dumbbell with a nice and comfortable rubber grip. I would recommend this to anyone that has uncomfortable dumbbell/barbell handles or has problems with blisters or calluses on the hands.

The new design
This was the only product Iโve used for over 10 years. Not quite sure why they redesigned this. This new version is horrible. I hope they at least the old version at some point.

Amazing grip pads.
These grip pads are amazing. Ordered the 1/8inch thickness and very happy with the purchase. I mainly use them for pullups as my pull-up bar is slightly too thin and causes major calluses. A few months ago ordered a different brand which was too thick in my opinion and made pullups feel awkward at best. Using these 1/8inch pads for pullups is perfect and although I've only been using them for a couple of weeks they seem like they'll last quite some time. Great product! Would definitely order again if they end up wearing out over the next few months.

10/10 Work as intended
The pads do their job & are very convenient over gloves that you don't have to keep on + you don't have to be "that guy" at the gym wearing gloves ๐
