Excellent replacement for my failed Dell Optiplex 960 Mini-Tower power supply!
This purchase has turned out to be wonderful so far. I bought the power supply to replace the failed power supply in a Dell Optiplex 960 mini-tower (part number: F305P-00). It decided to go belly up after a graceful power down. The symptom of failure was that the PC's #3 light at the top of the case flashed dimly every few seconds or brightly if I pressed the power button. The machine wouldn't even attempt to fire up though. From past experience with this model and several others from Dell of the same era, I recognized the symptom. After doing some research online, I found several sellers on Amazon that were selling replacement PSUs. They products were in the new category but the sellers never specifically said the word "new" which I took to mean that these were pulled components from salvaged parts machines being sold for scrap. Rather than buy a used PSU I elected to try and find a standard PSU that would fit the case. Enter this EVGA PSU. It had the specs I needed and connectors I required and excess of both. Installation was a breeze. It only took 15 minutes tops. There are a few things to note. First off, the external power header is on the right side of the PSU when looking at the back of the PC and the EVGA is on the right. The header is close enough to the edge that it ended up under the edge of the EMI shielding. I could have cut the shielding with side cutters easily enough to allow the header to fit in perfectly, but I'm lazy. All it did was hold the shielding up in the middle 1/8" from the case. No big deal. It still works. You can see it in the picture though. Also worth noting is that the Dell uses the standard 4 screws plus an internal tab that springs up and fits in a slot in the side of the PSU. It won't interfere though. Just press it down extra hard close to the back of it to bend it into the case. No big deal. There are also 2 metal hooks in the case and 2 slots in the top of the PSU that the hooks connect with. The hooks, slots and spring tab combine to hold the PSU in the case while you put the screws to it. The PSU will lean down enough to get the screws started to fit around the Dell oddities. As far as the 20-pin and 4-pin connectors go, take a moment to look the connectors over. There are 2 white arrows painted on the connectors that indicate where they should meet. Press them together and hold them in that orientation as you insert the connectors into the single header. Also not a big deal. I didn't need the 4-pin Molex cable or PCI-E cable. Or for that matter the 2nd CPU header. I also had to twist the SATA power header wires a little to get them to fit with the close spacing of the hard drives on the bottom of the case. Not a big deal either. I hid the extra cables and slack in the empty floppy drive bay. That was all there was to it. My Dell Optiplex 960 Mini-Tower has a new PSU. I should be good to go until the next component breaks, though I don't expect this PSU to wear out before the motherboard does. It was a good buy!

Great replacement PSU for Dell Inspiron 530
I have a Dell Inspiron 530 mini-tower, Core2 Quad. It's about 8 years old, but upgraded little by little. It's my workhorse. A few months ago, my system started having problems turning on. I leave it on most nights to run BOINC jobs. It could have been the few power outages every now and then, damaging the power supply. Pressing the power button sometimes would not turn on the computer. I would have to unplug the power cord for a day, then plug it back in, and try to turn it on. It was a 50/50 shot. If it didn't work, I would have to unplug and wait another day. After a couple of months, I got tired of it and did some research, which pointed to the bad power supply. I decided to try the power supply replacement. It took a little searching, but finally found out the power supply was a standard ATX size. The original power supply, Delta DPS-350VB-1A, matched a few listings in Amazon, but I didn't like a lot of the reviews for the ones that matched that model number. I decided to just look at all the replacement power supplies that were standard ATX sizes. I made up a short list, and decided on this EVGA 500W 80Plus model. (After I placed my order, I found out I could have bought the slightly better one for the same price, EVGA 500W 80Plus Bronze. Oh well). The reviews were very good, not all over the place like some other brands. I decided not to go much higher than my original 350 watts. I wasn't planning to add a new video card. Prime shipping, two days later, got my package. I removed the old PSU and connections, installed the new PSU and connections in about 10 minutes. Perfect fit. Took a minute to double check everything. Closed it up and powered up. Good as new. Time will tell, but I hope I can keep this Dell Inspiron 530 running for at least another couple of years. I like all the connections available with this model. I had installed some power splitters previously, but now not needed. The cabling is nice, wire bundles are protected nicely. Unfortunately, the mini-tower is a little cramped with these all these larger power cables. Had to do some creative winding to fit cables into some voids to keep airflow inside. Highly recommended.

Fits In HP 570 Pavilion Cases, Quiet, and Works Great
I have an HP 750-p064, and I needed a "uATX" or mini-ATX power supply to power a graphics card. I was pleased to find that this EVGA 500-watt power supply has the exact specs of the stock 180-watt HP power supply. It's much more than I needed, but the prices are negligible and this PSU has great feedback. The screw holes will line up at the top of the 570 case, but I had to install the power supply with the fan facing up -- it's not ideal but that's all I could do. There is a little rubber spacer on the underside of the case which still allows some airflow, so it's not a problem as it doesn't get that hot for what I'm doing. And although the power supply fits, an external metal bracket covers just a couple millimeters of the input plug. It's not creating any damage, but I really can't remove the plug now without unscrewing the power supply and moving it to the left. During the installation, there was very little room in the case to move everything around and route all the covered cables (which are very thick). Then at the final step, I discovered that I needed a special "6-pin SATA" connector for the HP 570's slimline DVD drive; this EVGA 500-watt PSU only has 15-pin SATA connectors. Well, thankfully Amazon sells this nifty "6-pin to 15-pin SATA adapter": https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056OA8ZW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 You'll definitely need this if you are installing this EVGA PSU in the same computer I have. Besides a few annoying things about the installation and not having a 6-pin cable, this power supply worked on the first try and I've had no issues. It also stays relatively cool and keeps whisper quiet running in my small PC case. It was the first time I ever upgraded a power supply, and most of my issues were the result of my inexperience and buying a small form factor PC meant for business use. That's why I still give the EVGA 100-W1-0500-KR five stars.

OK But Quality Control Issues Are Troubling
I've had some bad luck with my Dell XPS 8700 and I mean bad. It's on its third motherboard, second hard drive, and 2nd PSU. After the second motherboard died, I started suspecting the Dell PSU so I tried this as a cheap and well speced PSU to replace it. I've LOVED my EVGA graphics cards and their customer service was top notch so what the heck. Well, first one came and there was a sort of ticking, but not quite ticking, sound. Sort of an oscillating sound. After a few hours research and watching videos on Youtube, I tracked it down to a likely bearing issue. Not good for a 2 day old supply. Amazon was AWESOME and took care of the shipping label and sent me a new one. So far at least, no sound at all from the new one, though it had another minor issue. The first fit very easily in my case. This one took several minutes of almost forcing in and even after it clicked in place as it should, the screw hole on one side is slightly off. It still screws in, so it works, but definitely not quite right. Time will tell, but thus far I'm not overly impressed with the quality control so I have some worry it will die prematurely. As to actual operation, it seems good enough. No issues yet with my system the past few hours and it feels heavy and solid. The cords are plentiful and sleeved, but almost too long. Good to have ones for the video card and a couple of the motherboard ones that power the CPU, but I found it hard to find places for all of them. Maybe next time I'll go moduler.

Gets the Job Done at a reasonable price
This power supply is great. It may not be as awesome as other modular power supplies but it has an ample amount of power to get almost any system up and running. I've used this power supply in two system builds and it works like a champ. In one PC I can power up a gtx 760, 1 SSHD, 1 Hue+ led lighting system, 3 corsair led 120mm fans+3 Phanteks 140mm fans, 1 Intel Haswell Pentium CPU, and 8gb of ddr3 crucial sport ram (not sure if there's anything else to power up but that's the jist of it). Of course you won't be able to get SLI or Crossfire configurations set up with this power supply (if you think so, probably go find a different power supply because this isn't the one for you). But powering up your budget to mid-range computer builds will be sufficient with this choice to power supply. When it comes to cable management, it can be somewhat of a test of your creativity with how you organize the cables. This is neither a fully modular or semi-modular power supply (meaning the cable are permanently fixed to the power supply and are not detachable. Google/Youtube it if you still are confused by modularity). Some cases will be great to house this power supply, as some cases are excellent for stashing away those gaudy cables (they're not bad the cables, it just looks cool if you can keep your cables hidden in your PC). In one case I had, the cables were everywhere but in some newer, more pricier cases I now own, the cables from the power supply are about 96% tucked away from view. The unit itself is not huge at all. The power supply does have a fan. So in some cases you could position your PSU so that it faces downwards into a dust filter that many cases provide, or you can opt to point it upwards so that airflow travels in a different direction (this is assuming you place your power supply in the basement/bottom of your case). All in all, I don't have much else to report on this power supply, other than to say, if you're debating on trying to save some money in your system build (or maybe even in need of a new power supply) this is a marvelous choice, and I definitely give this a 5 stars. And pleaaaase don't say this item does not work or came defective and put a 1 star review. Just request a refund from Amazon and ship it back for FREE to the manufacturer and go buy another power supply or go with a different brand.

Longevity
What a tank this PSU is been using it a build for 10 years now and it's still rock-solid, back when I bought this it was $40 with tax so not too bad. I used it heavily for years gaming and it's held up all that time for a good 8 years now it chills in storage since the PC is old, and I have built two new PC since then, but I wouldn't even be worried using this PSU in a newer PC it held up that well

So far it works great as designed and better than the OEM
Just got this as a replacement, for my Gateway DX-487-UB17 works flawlessly, very quiet has every connection needs plus, So far it works great as designed and better than the OEM. I will update it if I have any problems. UPDATE: 8/14/2016 OK so initially I purchased this item because I thought I had a defective PS unit for my LEMON GATEWAY DX-4870-UB-17 no it turns out Gateway sold my a lemon and the motherboard seized exactly 1 year 1 month latter as you can see they only give you 1 year warranty please if you are purchasing a computer from anywhere you need to purchase an extended warranty to protect your purchase as you can see I just lost 600.00. I was able to get a loan from a friend and Purchased a new Desktop model #Acer Aspire TC-605 and installed this P/S unit in before I ever turned on this new PC and I am so happy I did this power supply has done wonders I can add more memory an graphics card and not worry about under powering or a faulty P/S. Bottom line mostly all Computer Desktops are under powered and some will cause a short and fry your Hard drive, or Video card etc a faulty P/S can cause lots of damage as per my case into further inspection it turns out the Gateway Desktop P/S that came inside the unit stock shorted out my motherboard. so it's either a new motherboard around $300.00 or spend $200.00 more and have a new desktop for me it was a no brainier as I could always mess with the gateway brick.Hope I have helped you. "O" Sorry almost forgot to mention the best warranty I have ever dealt with is from Square Trade right here on AMAZON.com, very easy very cheap do some research it pays to have a warranty, thanks for reading my review.

Great supply and value
This power supply is great. I bought it to replace a brand new Diablotech for 22 bucks that was junk, noisy fans and it injected extreme noise back in the the AC mains. Yes it was cheap and a mistake. After going down the cheap road of failure I bought this EVGA after a lot of research. I do not play games at all and this won't do it for massive video cards. I do have audio equipment for recording connected to this PC and I needed a power supply that was mechanically and electrically quiet. This EVGA delivered on both fronts. You literally cannot tell it is running. There is no detectable noise through my audio equipment. I replaced a 350w Rosewill supply with this EVGA so it has more than enough reserve power for my machine. It also means that the fan will rarely if ever kick on into high speed due to internal heating. After making a mistake with a real cheap supply and doing my homework I have learned that you get what you pay for in computer power supplies. This is the low end of quality. Any lower and you will have junk as I did. Do the research and you will find that EVGA is a quality company that makes good products. This is their venture into the lower market segment. This supply has also been surpassed by the model 500B which you may be interested in for 10 bucks more. This one more than filled my needs. I recommend it and will buy EVGA supplies anytime I do a build or need a replacement.

Excellent value PSU
I was looking for a cheap PSU from a reputable brand to complete a build with some left over spare parts from a recent upgrade. Although there are cheaper 500W PSUs out there they are from uncommon brand names and most of them have terrible reviews and reliability - the phrase 'buy cheap buy twice' comes to mind! EVGA PSUs seem to be really good quality and their aftercare support is second to none. The 3 year warranty on this model also offers some extra piece of mind too. The PSU is well built and is finished in black. The cables are not modular but they are sleeved in black nylon which slightly disguises the renowned cable colours of red, orange and yellow ;) They were long enough for a Fractal Design XL case which is fairly large although you might struggle with anything larger. It does have the standard 8 pin CPU cable but does not include the additional 4 pin CPU cable for higher TDP CPUs. You should probably be looking at a better PSU if you need that connection on your motherboard. This PSU was easily able to handle a constant 400W to the computer for several hours when the CPU, GPU and fans were all under full load during a stability stress test. Although rated for 500W you really don't want to be running it too close to that, it is a limit after all, and not a target! I would not recommend using this PSU for dual graphics cards especially as there is also only 1x PCI-E cable with a 6 pin and 6+2 pin plug. It's also fairly silent in operation which is always a bonus. Great PSU for the money and very happy with it. Highly recommended

US Plug, Otherwise great
It comes with a US outlet despite being sold on AU Amazon, other than that it does work very well (had to get an adapter). I had no issues with the product and I will be coming back for the next PC I build. (Probably higher voltage ⚡)

EWGA 500W
Veramente soddisfatto

Great piece of equipment
I bought this tier-3 PSU to upgrade my Heden PSX A830 (which I don't recommend to use with new generation of video cards). It took me just 5 minutes to replace. The EVGA power supply is great, very quiet, cable length is good enough. Price is very affordable. I chose it over Corsair CX500 which is 10€ higher and has more negative reviews.
