7A and 6A. Lots of red undertones. Do a TEST swatch.
Quick update...and raising from 4 to 5 stars. I used this 6 weeks ago and only now is the color beginning to fade around the temples and a bit at the roots, but it is so nice and gradual. No harsh lines. I love semi-permanent. I wash 3-4x a week. I have to say I am impressed, and I will do this again in a few weeks. It's lasting way long than advertised. I thought it looked red at first but after a week that faded a bit I guess? And suddenly this older now single lady has far more love interests than only 2 months ago...I wanna see where this goes...Still advise doing test strands!Original review: Back when I was 30% gray, 6A was my go-to semipermanent color. I loved it and used it for years, but during COVID I let my hair totally wash out, and then later just grow out. But 6A was a perfect match for light ashy brown.I'm about 60%gray now. I decided to try it again... I tried 6A (darker vertical, right image) and also something kinda fun maybe... 7A to hopefully add some blonde highlights to the gray (left image) Swatches are 25 minutes of 7A, and 6A, from the gray-est hairs, showing some representative strands of my natural gray and natural mousey ash brown. Both are red..6A is a little better in the image but really in just about all other lighting it's "red". Not the 6A I remembered! Want to remind people to do a test every time you color.

Color looks natural goes on better
I naturally have light brown hair and I've been doing medium brown for many many years. I tried a mushroom blonde and I liked it but it was a little bit too light. I tried this color and it was just right it was great because it spread on my hair better than most most are too thick and they don't spread well and doesn't look natural this one spread really well look very natural dark enough to make me feel like my face is framed but light enough to feel natural. It went on very well it looked very well and it has lasted an extremely long time.

I’m all about Level 6
This is a great color for grey coverage on my almost light brown hair (I’m naturally about halfway between medium and light brown and get some natural blond highlights when I spend time in the sun). I’ve gotten many compliments on all the level 6 light browns I’ve used from this line: Ash, neutral, golden, caramel. I haven’t tried warm, I like to avoid red highlighted browns. It gives my hair different tones and covers the grey that I have been getting in the front. The color lasts longer if you use a really good brand of shampoo and conditioners for color. I use Ion color sealer as conditioner.

What was Clairol thinking?
Have been using Clairol Natural Instincts for years and have been EXTREMELY satisfied. Everyone marvels at how natural it looks, and many never new I colored my hair until I told them. Now they have come out with a "new" version, and one wonders what they found wrong with the old version. I knew there was going to be a problem when I went to use it and what had originally been two liquids you opened and combined. Now one of these is in a tube and has the consistency of toothpaste. It's not easy to squeeze this into the other liquid wearing gloves and being careful not to upset and get the products everywhere. Then the application was different because the consistency was different. Then you had to wait a longer period of time before rinsing out. Okay, you can deal with all of that if you get a good end result. NO GOOD END RESULT!!! Do not buy this product. The gray areas near the scalp have a greenish cast and are a different color than the rest of the hair. The rest of the hair is much darker than what was obtained using the former version. Clairol has taken a very good product and totally ruined it. I've been searching high and low to try to buy the old version, but perhaps others are doing the same thing because I've been unable to find the color I need. I am so disappointed in Clairol, and am at a loss as to what to do next as I will not use this product again.

Great Product!
This is a great product. It colored my hair without the red undertone that I have had a problem with in the past. The conditioner worked great! However, it didn’t cover the gray completely.

Perfect natural colour
Perfect natural colorIt was my first time dyeing my hair at home. My hair was blonde before, so I chose a shade one level lighter than I wanted and got the exact shade I was looking for. My hair is so soft and shiny wasn’t expecting it after dyeing. Will attach my before and after. I got a shade 6A and got smth in the middle between 6A and 5A

Love the colour and grey blending
My hair usually pulls reds, so I was a bit hesitant to try another new colour. I used to use a lighter shade, but it just never worked. Went for the light ash brown (6a) and I feel like this is the colour for me.Followed the instructions exactly...and I will add that before colouring with a demi/semi I always wash a day ahead with shampoo and I do not condition it. After colouring I do not wash the product out with shampoo (only water and then the provided conditioner), and I don't wash my hair for at least 2 days after. I don't have a lot of grey, but I had at least a couple inches of pretty heavy grey roots and I think they're blended quite nicely. In fact, this turned out way better than the demi I had at the salon for $150 a few months ago!Only complaint I have is that for some reason I found this time to be quite irritating to my scalp and skin around sideburn areas, by ears and forehead. First time I'm noticing that. Seemed weird. Sure hope that it's better next time. The irritation did go away after rinsing entirely. If this colour is available in a local store I'd be tempted to buy it from there next so I can compare experiences. I have sensitive skin, so don't enjoy when something really bothers me.Overall pleased and will likely buy again.

Perfect colour and covers greys!
This is a colour that I've never seen in store. Often the colour ends up too dark but this was the perfect shade! I have medium/dark brown hair which I have lightened but am growing out and wanted something to blend the greys as I grow them out. This was perfect!

Didn’t cover gray
Unfortunately this doesn’t cover my gray hairs. Nice and gentle and nice colour, but not exactly what I need.
