Cheap but excellent quality!!
I've bought somewhere around 50-75 of these over the years, and I have some that have many many rough years of use on them, but they just keep doing their job. This company makes the best 3-4" carry pipes for the money, and trust me I've tried them ALL, and this is the only company that's kept their standards pretty much the same over many years. Keep them cleaned out, keep the bowl scrapped and the mouth piece dry using pipe cleaners, and you can run bags of tobacco through them without issue for a long time. Plus these pipes are actually really pretty, and have a nice finish for no more than you pay. -Neptune_Labs

Eat me, feed me, READ ME !!!!!
Missouri Meerschaum - Ozark Mountain Hardwood Tobacco Pipe - Oval Bowl, Straight Bit: I usually only read negative reviews about any product I plan on buying. But this is a positive review, so I hope my "Headline" caught your attention. My pipe arrived protected in a tightly wrapped cushioned USPS mailer. Inside the normal mailer. This lightweight pipe is clean, shinny, with no discernable odor. The stem is tight, clean. and includes a removeable filter. It states on the bottom, and I have no reason to doubt, based on its appearance that it is a type of hardwood. It is a small but handsome pipe that appears to be well made and has a dignified appearance. Clean and simple. Hopefully the bowl is thick enough that my fingers won't get burned when I take an occasional toke. And I can find screens that fit properly. Kudos to whomever assembled and shipped this to me. I hope to get many years of enjoyment from it. I didn't include pictures because the one in the listing does it justice.

What a sweet pipe!
I use this product to smoke tobacco, and I waited for it to arrive so I could open a fresh bag of American Spirit. There's nothing like a new pipe with new tobacco! I love the look of it too! This is one classy pipe!

Read…multiple updates
I bought this pipe because I had liked my Missouri Meerschaum corncob pipe. This pipe is just awful, the bowl is so big and deep that it requires 2 screens, the draw on it is like sucking through a giant straw…puff puff puff and more puff puff puff and yet it never stays lit. The bowl being so big and with a straight bit, you just never get a full draw. Plus, the drool factor is immense and you’d better get a whole lot of extra Medico filters if you continue to smoke it. I guess you get what you pay for, but in my opinion the best place to start with this pipe is to throw it in the trash. Do not waste your money on this terrible pipe. ^** Update: I switched out the straight bit for a bent bit…now I’m realizing that that fixes a lot of issues with this pipe. Even still, the quality of the craftsmanship on this pipe is mass production garbage at best. I’m upgrading my revised review by one star to two stars, as I still would not buy this pipe again. Update 2: I have to admit that my first impression of this pipe was that it was bad, but ultimately I was all wrong about it being bad. I bought a Dr. Grabow pipe for nearly $50 thinking that I was making an investment in something that would last years. Unfortunately, in trying to replace the filter on my $50 Dr. Grabow, I broke the fitting between the stem and the bit. Doubly frustrating and unfortunate was that I found out that the only place to get a replacement stem for that type of pipe is to send it back to the manufacturer and they fit it for you, which I find to be kind of stupid and scammer-ish. So…in closing…I eat my words, this IS a great little pipe to use while it lasts. Buy it and be satisfied that if you have to throw it away and buy a new one, you still spend less in the end than I did.

Continuing quality control issues - another update... very loose fit between stem and shank.
No problems with this. It looks good, smokes fine, and it's so inexpensive that when I go too long without proper cleaning I just order a new one and throw the old one out. UPDATE: with several pipes I’ve ordered lately the fit between the stem and the bit is very bad. On 2 pipes it was extremely difficult to remove the bit: the fit was way too tight. With the most recent order the fit was so loose that by simply holding the pipe vertically, with the bowl on top, the bit simply falls out on its own: way too loose. I know: it’s an expensive pipe, but still…… ANOTHER UPDATE: In my opinion quality control issues persist. Yet another pipe for which the fit between the stem and the shank is extremely loose... unless you intentionally try to keep the pipe together the shank and stem will separate.... the bowl will fall off. The only think holding the two parts securely together is the cardboard "filter" that comes with the pipe. Take that part out, or don't replace it when it gets soggy, and you'll face what might appropriately be called "separation anxiety."

perfect beater pipe
perfect beater pipe, this is the second one of its kind i buy. the previous one i'd taken on many adventures, usually i would take off the mouthpiece and put it in a small (~2in x 4in) ziplock bag along with a lighter and smaller bag of my favorite tobacco, and throw it in my cargo pocket. its survived through quite alot with me and seen even more. until the day i accidentally took a dive off the side of a boat and away went my beloved pipe :/ So, here i've bought a replacement and its exactly the same consistency and hardiness. the mouthpiece is of hard plastic and WILL dent if you bite too hard, and it can break if you bend it too much. it'll take a couple of bowls to break in the flavor but hey, these are all to be expected right?

Solid affordable pipe
As a new tobacco pipe smoker. It’s a solid first pipe. Bowl stays cool and it’s sturdy. Good flow.
