Has a very fresh, almost citrusy smell. Lathers up very nicely.

So do these still arrive as an expired product?

The soap I received has a "batch" date of July, 2021. I don't think that's an expired date. It is the batch made date. What I received is great. It smells fresh and is solid and suds up well. I check my Safeguard box for a bar of soap and there is no expired date. It does have a code that says 2000 and another number. I checked another bar too and no expired date. I think it's not expired but is fine.
