functions as expected
5 stars because it works as I expected for the price point. I used it with a fire stick in the hdmi and powered off the usb on the projector. You definitely need to make sure hdmi accessories are fully inserted or you will get static sound and a choppy picture. The unit has optical focus by turning the front lens, as is normal for projectors. There is no optical zoom, so you need to set the distance between the projector and the screen in order to get the picture size you desired. I was set about 15 feet away from a wall and had about a 7 foot diagonal. With the room darkened, that was fun for kids. I projected directly onto a wall, not a screen. The image was not super bright, but I was also not using ideal conditions and I did not get any complaints. I also found it enjoyable at that size/brightness. The built in speaker is adequate for entertaining kids, but about the level of sound you would get from a low end Bluetooth speaker. I plugged a sound bar into the audio out for a better experience and would recommend that setup. The unit powers up and down quickly. When I hit the power off button, it shuts down in about 10 seconds. It probably takes about 1 minute to start up from cold. I wanted this unit to entertain kids on a road trip, it was great for that. It is good enough that I'm sure it will get regular use at home. It actually survived a 4 foot drop when it was knocked off a stand. It was nice to see it had some sturdiness.

if youre looking for hd, look elsewhere
for those of you expecting a clear true hd projector for 200 bucks, you are absolutely nuts. but if you want a cheap higher quality standard definition, this is unbeatable at the price. i got this to hook up to an old computer to play old video games with my roommates at college, we tried a ps3 with it, and it was alright but its perfect for the older stuff. if you do your research (as i did) projector quality is about the native resolution, not input. that being said, i was pleasantly surprised how well native 480p looks on a 100" screen. you cant read the small text at all, but who would use this as a computer monitor? pros: obvious one - cost the colors are phenomenal even on a wall or sheet. not very big bright enough to use in a non-pitch black room able to focus up to a 100" screen accepts INPUT of up to 1080i decent speakers comes with very high quality buffered, tangle-resistant, gold plated cables long lasting bulb life, and cheap replacement bulbs comes with a spare bulb! cons: it takes 6 minutes to turn off. the screen will go black but the fan will continue for 6 minutes without the ability to cancel. make sure you REALLY want too turn it off or you will be waiting a while. there is no volume control. i use external speakers anyway, but a headsup if youre looking for sound over hdmi. the keystone correction is pretty much non existant. it makes the top or bottom very blurry. this can easily be fixed by not projecting at an angle, or as we did, build an angled screen. fairly loud fan noise, but you get used to it quickly. these may be deal breakers for you, so dont buy it. but for me the pros and the cost of the projector significantly outweighs these cons, so only one star off when it comes down to it, there are different tools for different jobs, just because a fork isnt good for soup doesnt mean its badly designed. this goes the same way for projectors make sure you get the right tool for the job. and for me, its this one and id buy it again in a heartbeat.

It is garbage
I bought this because I teach and had a presentation requiring an HDMI connection. I should have known by the price I was bound for disappointment. I used the HDMI cable to hook up my iPad so I could do App demonstrations. I have used it three times and each time the projector shut off after 15 minutes, which is terrible if your presentation is supposed to be an hour long. The fan runs loudly and does a poor job at cooling the projector, hence its shutting down. The picture quality is also awful. You cannot read any print on the screen. You can barely distinguish what the iPad icons are and forget trying to read text. I have better luck just holding the iPad up in front of the crowd or connecting it to an HD TV when available. To make matters worse, the legs do not hold the projector up very well and it keeps falling down. I have to pile books under it to raise the lens. Basically it is big, loud, and doesn't work. Save your cash and buy an Epson. That's what I ended up having to do because the VVME was useless. I truly regret having bought this. It was an incredible waste of money. I only hope I can unload it at a yard sale or craigslist.

Very nice AND affordable projector.
I'm quite impressed with this projector. The actual brandname is "Visionari" and this is for the model "VVME-HTPCD-V01" so there are no mix-ups in reading my humble review. If you want a projector that is very affordable [compared to many others] and using it for watching videos -- it's great. It's about 12 inches by 10 inches not heavy but not light. 2 built-in speakers in the back, power & basic menu function buttons on top, multiple inputs on the side with a choice of component A/V in, composite A/V in, VGA input, HDMI interface -- but when it comes to VGA or HDMI, like another reviewer said a more expensive projector would probably be a better choice. I just use it for basic DVD, camcorder and VHS viewing [yes, I still use VHS for odds & ends!]. It has a remote that uses 2 "AAA" batteries that aren't included. It has a VERTICAL & HORIZONTAL "image reverse/flip" for hanging upside-down on a projector-mount from a ceiling or rear projection -- or even using with 45-degree mirror in front of the lense to project the image on your ceiling for lazy "lay on your back" viewers like me[!] You can switch between the older "4:3" image size or newer "16:9" but either image is still within the over-all "4:3" projected image area. It doesn't adjust "wider" with same height like a previous projector I have. Hope this makes sense to everyone; it's actually a "letterbox" mode. Nice picture "resolution" [ok, so I use the OLDER word!] nice "definition" in my opinion with seperate "BRIGHTNESS" "CONTRAST" "HUE" "SATURATION" & "SHARPNESS" options -- to name a few! Anything else this projector does I don't know or use it for. Growing up decades ago with a B&W "rabbit ear" TV set with no remote that only got 8 or 9 channels [oh, seems like ages ago!][:-)] is still impressive to me. That's my humble review.

Decent projector, check your expectations before buying.
I would rate this a 3 1/2 for a couple reasons. Pros: projector works, was shipped in decent time, and made a great contribution to the man cave for the xbox, internal speakers are better than expected. Simple setup, even without the manual. Cons: Bigger than expected Manual poorly translated. Only one audio output worked. Is 720p instead of the full 1080p, however I read the reviews and was EXPECTING this before ordering. Not geat daylight projections, but for my use, that is ok. Conclusion: Decent projector, but if you order, order it straight from the company, that way if you need any parts, (power cord, bulb, etc.) it will be MUCH easier to get. I probably would not purchase again, just because i prefer the mid quality over low.

Worth the money, BY FAR!
I use this projector in my living room as part of a home theater. It is sharp and looks really good just thrown up on a white wall. The addition of a screen will most likely dramatically increase the quality of picture, however, I haven't actually seen the need as of yet . The picture is fine and bright . Sometimes during mid-day I can't quite get the room dark enough to render the picture perfectly clear and bright, but it 's a given that one would not presume to use a projector in a brightly lit room. The on board sound quality is horrendous and cannot be trusted to do anything other than immediate max out on any volume over 30%. As long as you intend to hook the sound outputs up to a sound system or something else, you can trust that the projector's PRIMARY function will not fail. It was very easy to hook up to an xbox and a laptop at the same time, which I switch between constantly. This was absolutely a drastic improvement in my home entertainment system, in general. I am glad to have made the purchase and would gladly recommend this projector to anyone who wants to enhance their own home system, as long as it's not stellar brightness and sharpness in HD under the mid-day sun that they are seeking. For the price, this is by far, worth the money.

Great for what it is.
First I should say this is not a top end unit. If you're looking to view video in 1080 this is not the unit for you, and personally I wouldn't buy this for a home theater. With that said this unit delivered everything promised, and it did it all fairly well. This unit is mainly used for an outdoor movie night where the neighbors all come over and we project a movie on to a sheet on the side of the house. We also hung a sheet inside and projected that way. There are a multitude of ways to connect devices to the machine. The picture is plenty clear for projecting on an outside sheet (or screen). There are enough options to adjust the picture, and the volume on the unit is plenty loud. There are a few down sides, the fans are extremely loud (which I don't notice them really after the movie starts). The remote and the on screen controls are pretty difficult to use, and the menu is not very intuitive. Even with this, if you're just looking for a well priced unit to use for informal family nights or a get together you can't go wrong with this. It has met my expectations, and I would have no problem recommending this unit or purchasing it again.

Exceptional value!
This device works great, I set it up was a new Roku Stick and it's powered by the USB on the Projector. I can watch from my favorite streaming service or use the Sling player app on Roku to sling content live from my cable box via a Sling box. So I can enjoy outdoor movie nights, however the sun must be down to enjoy the picture. So if your using it outside plan on a 9pm start time. With two HDMI ports I could traverse between a computer and my roku if I wanted, it also has Component & composite as an option for connecting. The built in speaker is 5 WATS and quite tinny sounding. However it works well and have not trouble hearing the sound. This does have RCA out options to feed an external speaker if you want to go through the trouble. This is the best bargen projector I could find and am pleased I bought it.
