2-Pack Butecare Frameless Shower Door Bottom Seal for Glass Doors – Stop Shower Leaks and Create a Water Barrier (3/8” x 39”)

I am very pleased with this product on the bottom of our 3/8" glass shower door. Originally I had tried the Prime-Line M 6258 but it was loose fitting and slipped down, did not reach all the way down to the surface under the door, and was too fragile. This Butecare Frameless Shower Door Bottom Seal is way better in every respect. It fits onto the door bottom very snugly without needing any adhesive; it is thicker and more robust; and the wiper strips along the bottom reach all the way down to the shower surface (just lightly brushing it) so we are able to swing the door open in either direction, yet it is providing a good water seal. We are lucky it fits so well, as this depends on how the door is hung. The only slight down-side is that it is a little hard to cut, but I was able to cut it successfully to the proper length using a hacksaw and pruning shears. I am totally pleased with the result.

This seal was a direct replacement for the original one installed on my frameless shower door. Just make sure you order the correct glass thickness, since that’s what determines the fit. It feels a little tighter than the old seal I removed, but that’s expected—the original had been taken off and reinstalled many times for cleaning. I’m sure this one will loosen slightly with age and regular maintenance. For the cleanest installation, I recommend cutting it to length with a hacksaw. Go slow and steady and you’ll get a smooth, straight cut that looks factory‑clean once installed. Overall, it fits well, works as intended, and is a solid replacement at a good price.

You can cut these. I used my small pruning shears. I did cut at the far end just to be sure I didn't cut awkwardly when it was time to cut the correct length. At first I had a hard time getting the seal on. Why? Because I wasn't thinking and was making it harder than it should have been. My shower is a step down, so I swung open the door and placed the seal under the door and shoved it up until it fit. It is a tight fit and you don't need any glue. Don't be frustrated because although you might think you did get the wrong size (make sure it is the size for your door), it will ease up and around the bottom of the door. I will say that I had the old piece as was able to cut it prior to installing. I did cut a tiny bit more and once the seal was in place took the shears and cut off the small piece that was overage. I have no idea why I waited to so long to replace the old seal because this was a fairly easy install and took almost no time at all. - and it works great.

Great value, and I recommend. The only reason it gets 4 stars is because they could do a better job to describe how to cut the material. After trying methods that others offered online and failing, I stared at it and went into the garage to see what other gizmos I have to cut it. THEN I decided to try my PVC cutter. Wow, worked like a champ! So easy! And a perfect cut. Then I trimmed the overhang plastic thing to fit the vertical seal with tin snips. Also easy.

Turns dark orange over time, even when not exposed to sunilight I bought an extra (backup) pair and kept them in a dark closet for 6 years. When I needed them, the parts that squeeze the glass doors of my shower had turned dark orange and brittle. I don't know if another plastic will deliver a different outcome, but the claim that they don't "yellow" or "yellow very slowly" is not substantiated. The silicone flaps at the bottom remained clear....

You don’t realize how faded your existing shower sealer is until you install a new one. What a difference!!

This seemed to be a great buy except that the width size is not quite right as it fits much too slack on my glass door. I bought the same size in the hardware and it works perfectly.
