A review for stop-motion animators looking to block out light
Overall verdict: Great idea, terrible customer service, expect to get a 39 by 72 inch curtain.Original review: As a stop-motion animator working from my bedroom, I needed to find a way to quickly block out the light coming from my windows while I work and let the light back in after. These curtains are the perfect solution. They use velcro to hold the edges to your windows so there's no light leaking from the sides, and they're very easy to attach/detach. I'm attaching a photo to show what this looks like in my room. The corner's hard to put velcro on so I'll be improvising another solution to that, but at least it shows there's no light leaking where velcro is applied. My only complain is that I got two different sizes when I was supposed to get two of the same kind, but they're already sending me a replacement. So just make sure to double check consistency in sizes if you order multiple!Another note: There is no velcro tape along the bottom of the curtain. This does not bother me but it may be important information for some buyers.Edit 1: They sent me another curtain to replace the curtain that was too short on one end and they didn't bother measuring it to make sure the size was correct this time. Hence, I'm now stuck with one good curtain and two curtains that are a little too short. They asked to post a 5 star review to get the replacement sent, so I wrote my review, but I can't give it 5 stars if they can't even double check their measurements before shipping out the order.Edit 2: I wanted to get visual confirmation that they have 42" by 72" curtains in stock, they wouldn't give it to me. And because I wouldn't change my review back to 5 stars apparently that makes me "rude" despite the fact they didn't earn the review.

A renter's dream
The Sleep EZ Shade arrived on time and packaged securely. This product really works well. As a renter, I was disappointed because I couldn't use the mounting strips included in the box. Landlord would not approve any screws onto the wall, no matter how careful or discreet. After cutting the Sleep EZ Shade according to the window frame measurements, I used a magnetic display system. The Sleep EZ Shade material is very easy to cut; and thin enough for the small magnets to connect to the magnet sticker placed on the window. What a GREAT product! The Sleep EZ Shade now replaces the tacky cardboard previously used to block the sunlight. The magnets are very tiny and allows the Sleep EZ shade to beautifully cover the window frame. Upon moving, I can easily remove the Sleep EZ Shade and pack it to go for the next house. ( and save the mounting strips for later usage) This is a fabulous idea for window coverage, and a renter's dream .

Quiets outside noises also
Installed in bedroom. This does an excellent job reducing outside noises. It does a good job blocking out light. The size was a little short for what I needed, and the orientation is for portrait, not landscape, but I knew that prior to purchasing and no fault on the product for those things. Only 3 sides have Velcro (one short side does not). A couple days after I installed it, I overslept for the first time in about 5 years.I also had a custom one built for a windowed dark room at a business. It also does an excellent job!

Thanks a TON
I have a window that has noise from outside street and let me tell you IT WORKS GREAT. It helps me with my PTSD and anxiety. It’s hard to explain really but it seems like I’m more at peace in my bedroom and I’m going to buy a few more. Thanks a lot whoever created this because I’ve recommended it to other people and they are also happy with their new sleep. Highly recommended

Disappointed
As others stated this is way too complicated to install. Too many little pieces that will damage your wall. And in the end it does not block noise as advertised. At all. My neighbor has a constantly barking dog. It didn’t even muffled the sound. Also it darkens less than a black out curtain, plus it’s unsightly. I was not satisfied at all. And at that price I expected better. Find another option.

I believe this will work well enough on reducing outside noise - which is why I got it.
**update: after two days, I am very happy I purchased this covering - it doesn’t get rid of outside noise, but it muffles it decently and it does help keep the cold out a bit too (though I bought heavy 3-later curtains as well). I even added MacGyvered straps so I can roll it up during the day (though 3 is likely overkill as the Velcro helps keep the sides in place.)Fast delivery. Just received it today and installed it. Easy to install. I didn’t want to use all the screws provided as I don’t want to have that many holes in the window frame, so I used a few small finishing nails along with the tape backing where not nailed down - which works well so far. I got this sheet to try and muffle apartment complex sounds. This sheet works well for darkening a room for sure, and so far it seems to help with sound dampening - the street noise is definitely more muffled - but the real test will be later.

Heavy dark fabric. Messy adhesive!
Used this to replace foil that we had used to block light in a sunny bedroom window. The black fabric is very heavy and has a thick vinyl coating on the back. Light is not going to penetrate the fabric. Ours had a small slit/tear in one of the creases where it was folded when shipped and light comes through but we covered the tear with duct tape. The fabric was folded over and secured with two rubber bands. No frills packaging. Has velcro along 3 sides and the "mounting strips" are just velcro tape with a VERY gooey adhesive backing. (See pic) The adhesive was oozing and got on everything. It's the same consistency as fly paper so be warned. It is never coming off drywall without being sanded off and refinishing the area. We adhered the velcro strips along the top and sides of the window and used the wood screws that were included to fasten the adhesive on the top edge and corners. Installation is not temporary by any means. You can easily pull off the blackout fabric but removing the adhesive and the damage from the wood screws would be a hassle. We tried magnets but it was too fussy. I think the price is way too high for what you're getting...basically vinyl backed black fabric and velcro. With that being said, it is super dark and does an amazing job at blocking light out completely. Removal of the installation materials could be a chore.
